What's the weather where you are?

Can you believe that many people still say that it is normal these kinds of temperature? Can you believe it? they say: oh, it is normal, its winter.

Here, it is minus 26 with a wind factor of minus 34. It has been like that for the last couple of weeks.

As we say here, "it is normal, it is winter". ;)

Temperature of -40 C is Spain. :jawdrop:
We all know Spain as warm and sunny country. It is like in Siberia.
This global warming is little chilly.

It is in the mountains, where some of the lowest temperatures for Spain are recorded. Still, this is not normal! In Zaragoza, they predicted -25 degrees as perceived temperature due to humidity plus winds. :O

I heard the weather was so bad in some villages that the doctor could not reach the drivers that had been caught in the snow. :(

And this "keep calm..it's just winter" BS is preventing people from taking necessary measures, like always having food or maybe making some house improvements to get ready to what's coming our way. This kind of measures are expensive and need planning, so many people who can afford them now won't be able to implement them when things get really ugly.

Wow, it's really cold in Spain!

In the South of Siberia, it's -7 C now (in day time). By the way, we've been having a thick fog for two days already, which is exceptionally rare here in winter.

And they also forecast +6 C for Monday (which is way above normal here). Siberia is more like Spain now, and Spain is more like Siberia?

It seems that the weather is totally erratic in last 3 - 4 years, and meteorologists obviously can't predict the long-term patterns.

Here in Serbia, this is the third winter which is very mild. It was cold and with the snow for the New Year (about -15ºC), but it was only for a few days. In the meantime, the temperature has been almost every day above 0ºC and sometimes even 15ºC! Which is not bad, but it is raining almost every day. Even there was the major flooding in southern Serbia couple days ago.

Weather Services are predicting "ice" days in the next few days, and this is the first time I'm looking forward to it.
Just to take a little break from the rain. :D

Strong winds again in coastal part of Croatia, disrupting ferry traffic, knocking down trees and ripping off facades from buildings in Split:
http://danas.net.hr/hrvatska/foto-bura-lomila-sve-pred-sobom-pomorski-promet-u-prekidu
In article it also says that they recorded the strongest wind-blow in last decade.

In central Croatia (larger Zagreb area) it's snowing again with current decent temperature of -1ºC.

Oh yeah, Boorah (bura) is such a phenomenon! Some kind of cyro.pneumatic ion therapy. It is raising sea surface turning it in tiny droplets being sprayed all over coastal areas ,clearing the skies - so there is a LOT of sunshine (vitamin D) also. Boorah - cleaner of body and mind... air and sea... just priceless... Many people that left Split say that they miss that gale the most. As we say here "Dobra bura - čista cura" Proper Boorah - un madamoiselle très propre!

:bacon:

P:S Boorah is also curing bacon and meat just perfectly!

Im in Ruka, Finland currently and its -16.5 celsius, expected to drop to -25 celsius tonight......

We have got snow since turn of the year. Last week we had around 0 oC. Despite the winter weather the winter aconites are in full bloom and the snowdrops are starting to bloom. So early spring has already started with the plants but not yet with the weather. Nothing out of the normal with this.

But the last weeks I found that around 6pm the sky is often brownish reddish in color. The sky turns very dark blue later on. The night before this I saw a brownish reddish sky in the middle of the night. Maybe this was connected with the fog in the air? Maybe this is connected with the added particles due to meteorites and volcanoes? It is quite strange. If this would be brighter it could look like the sky is burning.

I remember only once in the nineties that I saw a brown sky at night. Back then I thought it was connected with smog.

Well, no more "golf weather" at 35 degrees north, 92 degrees west....lol

It started sleeting last evening at 7pm and hasn't stopped. The ground is covered with frozen rain, sleet at about 1" to 2". Grey, dark overcast and very , very cold : 24 degrees F and with moisture/wind factored in , feels like 18 F !!....so this is more like what we were warned about for this winter, but its a 36 hour gig at best ? i'll take short spurts for 20, Alex....lol

Weather channel says this will pass by the evening. Overcast and 50's F , for tomorrow...stay tuned.

:cool2:

Turkey and especially Istanbul (northwest) is paralyzed under heavy snowfall for the 3rd time this winter.

West of Ukraine, Carpathian Basin, (Lat.,Long.: 47.80106,20.5770906):

We are being blessed with a beautiful weather with lots of sunshine and relative warmth up to 13 °C (in shadow) during the day for about a week now. Snow fell only three times since my last report, highest fall was one inch, even that melted quickly weeks ago.

Plants are asleep, some frost remains at the bottom of thicker grass in poorly lit areas, beside tall buildings. Exercising in this environment is uplifting and nature is beautiful.

[Seattle, WA, US] As has been for weeks, mostly dry, mild weather 40s (F) by night and 50s (F) by day, with a warm, dry wave last week that started a very bad allergy / pollen season early.

Hello All:

Here in California we're having a nice weather so far, it is going to be at 77 degrees today 02/19/2015 and it will be decreasing towards the weekend.

Honestly most of the Winter has been kind of warm in down town Los Angeles, except for two straight weeks that it was really cold it reached to 45 and some places were even colder with snow.
