Life and Afterlife – Introduction
This was a short introductory discussion on higher spiritual realities and how what we see and experience after death is based on who we are and our frequency/being, but that this is rationalized away by skeptics and discarded as nonsense by scientific materialists. Intuitive/more right-brain oriented people are more likely to believe and be open to the ideas and concepts of spiritual and/or higher dimensions. However, this intuitive sense and knowing can easily be clouded by modern life and modern living.
Music is used as an example. If a group of tone-deaf people hear music as noise, they would very well push the idea that the rest of humanity is lying or delusional for believing that music exists and develop groups that are dedicated to debunking music altogether. There are people who are argue against objective truth because they cannot or will not strive to understand deeper realities. How do you explain true joy or empathy to a psychopath?
If you have faith, no proof is needed, but also, even if you are provided all the evidence in the world to the existence of higher realities, it may not reach certain people as it can often be more an intuitive, felt, or sense of understanding instead of seeking outside validation. Belief based on subjective, wishful thinking is entropic, whereas belief in objective truth can be empowering.
The mainstream is trying very hard to squash belief in higher realities and gaslight people who have this awareness. Denying the paranormal can also become a denial of spiritual qualities such as love, harmony and beauty that cannot be measured materially. Even conceptions of love can change over time and grow in understanding and expansion. A basic conception of love that is ego-centric or hormone based can eventually come to encompass more, such as Paul's letter on Love. To know someone is to really love them.
William James' transmission theory of consciousness is that it operates outside the brain and works through the brain as a signal reacting with a receiver. Such as the C's suggestion that genes act as an antenna.
Prescott wants to prove the existence of higher realms but seeing as there is no smoking gun proof, evidence is derived from wide variety of human experiences – apparitions, NDE's, etc. Which all point to an overarching theory that consciousness survives after death of the body.
Parapsychology is continually trying to refine processes to convince skeptics, but this may be futile due to the entrenchment of certain materialist beliefs. Healthy skepticism is normal, but as long as your aim is to know what the truth is.
