That's the really scary part. That there are a lot of people out there who would welcome totalitarian control with open arms, and sign up to be enforcers of it.
Mean while' grotesque life goes on under the cover of darkness. This in my inbox from protest campaign organizers re abortion legislation being rushed through in New Zealand. More anti human attacks:
Well, it can be both. Based on the data, the virus REALLY is a "nothingburger", but the question, as you say, then is: why are people freaking out over a nothingburger? To answer that, I think we have to look to the power of the media and government and the large number of people who have been conditioned to be authoritarian followers. But even that suggests that media and government are somehow "planning" all this. Again, it might not be so black and white.
This situation came up in the normal way. A new virus quickly jumped from animals to humans and then mutated again to be transmissible between humans. China was "patient zero" and understandably took immediate action because this was an unknown and, theoretically COULD have been dangerous. Basically, they took a "better safe than sorry" approach. So they built multiple new hospitals and pretty effectively took care of the situation. Now China is more or less out of trouble. But why then are Western governments not using the Chinese example as a reliable predictor of how things will play out in the West?
Well, first, governments love a good crisis because it justifies their jobs, so they are not inclined to downplay but rather exploit it for personal power ends. It's also possible that somewhere in the bowels of the WHO government officials have agreed with big pharma that the vaccination uptake among the general population is too low, and they see it as plausible that a really serious viral outbreak could occur in the future. Therefore, people need to be scared into taking such things seriously (for their own good) and conditioned to be amenable to getting vaccinated.
In all of this, we should probably recall the repeated reference in sessions to "beaming" and the likelihood that something of that nature is going on and is largely responsible for the widespread feeling of panic and unease among the global population.
And perhaps a large part of the habitable surface of the planet too. A**holes.

The Governor and the head of Ohio Health Dept. calling off primary election has created a brouhaha involving the legislature, the DNC, and the Ohio Supreme Court as it was illegal to take such action:
"Arguing only lawmakers can establish a primary date, the Democratic Party is asking the court to set aside a directive from Republican LaRose (Secretary of State) instructing county boards of elections to conduct primary voting on June 2."

The leaders are manipulated on another level. Think of what Trump gets from his intelligence agencies.
I remember the story of when LBJ, spoke to members of the Warren Commission. He told them there was intelligence that their investigation might lead to Russia, (USSR at that time), and that could lead to a nuclear war.
So they were not to investigate anything too closely, and to basically stick to the official narrative.
When I see these leaders standing up there and with all their pronouncements to shut everything down, they look like deer in the headlights. Like they have been told something dire and apocalyptic.

Absolutely Joe. At a politically visible level I think we are dealing with gross incompetence by the unfit to govern (not saying they were much better before but at least they were trained in basic statesmanship... or personship.. or whatever it is I'm meant to say now).
I watched as an Irish health minister shame drinkers in Irish pubs into submission by (the day before the most important day of the year for public celebration and gatherings - St Patrick's Day) going on Twitter and rabble rousing a shaming process against all those who had dared to show solidarity by going into a pub and singing and dancing side by side. At first my brain went - ah, evil authoritarian conspirator! - but no. He's an idiot! Down at the gutter level with the mindless, trying to out do Trump, seeming to be cool and yet high and mighty, blasting away on social media with out a care in the world for the consequences or context - just another moron responding just like all the other morons from his base fears and the terror of being responsible... so blame, shame, lie, run for cover!
My sister said something very interesting today that I hadn't thought of - she travels a lot on the under ground and she watched how every time a door opened, the whole carriage stared at the person/s entering with utter fear and loathing - and then she realized that's where such things as racism comes from - stranger danger! You are not my type, you are not my tribe, you are different and different means you may be carrying something my type cannot protect themselves from. It's pure biology kidding the cortex into 'thinking it knows why - self protection and fear that our Lizard brain uses to protect and yet 'inadvertently' make us unsafe.
90% of this from top to bottom is in built, unconscious programmes gone mad after years and years of slow boiling. 5% gross stupidity and wilful selfishness and 6% psychopaths stiring the pot.

My heart goes out to all the elderly people out there, most of whom don't have the Internet and are already confused about administrative stuff in normal time. Pretty sure many of them have no idea you now need a signed document in order to walk your dog around the block or go grocery shopping. A 135€ fine if you don't have such a document with you. This is pure racketeering. But all for your own good, he?
Update from germany. Merkel is supposed to address the nation this evening and will probably introduce even stricter rules, possibly a curfew like in France. All the mayor car manufacturers of Germany/Europe/World will stop their productions, some at least for a month. The tensions in my workplace are increasing. Were you could joke around just a couple of days ago you have to now watch out closely what you say otherwise people will get upset "because you can't make jokes anymore". By the day, the tensions and restrictions are increasing. You have to be careful now to not come too close to certain people and hold the suggested 2 Meter distance from the other person. The lunchroom is emptying by the day. You have to watch out to not come across as sick, coughing, sneezing. People are getting more fickle by the day. Talked to someones face (like you would normally do) and the guy just freaked out and was "not amused" for me "daring to do so". We produce for the big car manufacturers, so naturally we were told today that beginning of next month there will probably be reduced working hours. It gets spookier by the minute here.
The "beaming" issue has given me some food for thought recently, and now, after doing the little timeline above (I hope others will add to it if something relevant is found), it is really making me go "hmmmmm...."
You see, I started having panic attacks in early November and I had about three really bad ones and then started learning how to feel it coming and take preventive measures and head it off at the pass. Ark also became ill in November with a crazy virus, was very sick in Dec and again in January. All is under control right now, but we have both noticed "agitating" effects, usually at night around 11 PM. Not every night.
So, I started wondering if this was some kind of beaming going on? Because, really, neither of us are panic types by any stretch of the imagination. But it seems to me that if something of this sort is going on, it must be some humdinger of a wave!

This is getting freakin ridiculous. Last night my brother drove to every store in our town looking for loo rolls and was left empty handed, bare shelves everywhere he went. Today I did the same and I also found nothing. Now, it's not emergency level at this point, but if things don't change in a week I'll be very angry indeed with all those panic buyers. At this rate I'll be using leaves soon!
