CDC Panel Votes to Add Covid-19 Vaccine to Recommended Childhood Schedule

A CDC panel unanimously voted on Wednesday to add the Covid-19 vaccine to the recommended childhood schedule.
The decision from the agency’s advisory committee (ACIP) would add the Covid-19 shot to the public health agency’s Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. Fifteen voting members of mostly scientific or medical expert backgrounds make up the panel and are responsible for making vaccine recommendations. All of the panelists are chosen by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services after an application and nomination process.
The ACIP’s Wednesday recommendation now goes to CDC Director Rochelle Walenksy and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for approval. Once approved, the advice will be included in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), a publication of public health information.
“As we’ll be discussing today and tomorrow, the incorporation of the COVID-19 vaccine in the immunization schedule and the vaccines for children or VFC program is an important step in the inclusion of COVID-19 vaccines in a routine vaccination program,” Dr. Sara Oliver, member of the CDC’s ACIP, said.
The CDC immunization schedule is a guideline for states to adopt if they choose. It is not mandated nationally, according to the CDC. Some states may opt to make the Covid-19 vaccine a condition of attending public school.
“State laws establish vaccination requirements for school children,” the CDC website says. “These laws often apply not only to children attending public schools but also to those attending private schools and day care facilities.”
Ahead of the panel’s vote, some Republican-controlled states assured residents that the Covid-19 would not be mandated for children. Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo tweeted: “Regardless of what the CDC votes on whether COVID-19 vaccines are added to routine child immunizations – nothing changes in Florida.”
“Thanks to @GovRonDeSantis, COVID mandates are NOT allowed in FL, NOT pushed into schools, & I continue to recommend against them for healthy kids,” he said.
This is beyond belief. I hope the parents of the US stand up against this utter whitewash. Two things occur immediately. 1) The panel must have been chosen very carefully to exclude anyone with a foot in the other camp and 2) I think there will be some major family relocations going on in the future. It appears that the CDC has already approved - unanimously -
putting the Covid Jabs into Children's Vax schedule ?
If true, i find this very heavy felt in my heart. The irony is, that in essence, it is a cold business strategy, so that the Big Pharma still can't be sued, thanks by including the Covid jabs into Children's vax schedule.
Uh !

More about the VFC program. SummaryDon’t panic…. yet. This is NOT the main event. That may happen tomorrow when they may vote to add these vaccines to the childhood vaccination schedule which would make the vaccines mandatory in many states. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s episode!

Nearly 5,000 Covid-19 deaths in first half of 2022, bringing Dutch total towards 45,000
A total of 1,420 people in the Netherlands died of Covid-19 in the second quarter, down from 3,564 coronavirus deaths in the first quarter of 2022. That brings the total number of confirmed Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic to 44,760, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported on Friday (in Dutch).
By comparison, 11,304 people died from the coronavirus disease in the first half of 2021. That marks an improvement of 56 percent. The decrease is likely due to the high vaccination rate in the Netherlands and the fact that the omicron variant dominant in the first half of 2022 is less severe than the delta and alpha variants of the coronavirus that were dominant in the first half of last year.
Covid-19 was responsible for 3.5 percent of all deaths during the second quarter of 2022, compared to 8.3 percent in the first quarter. Two-thirds of people who died of Covid-19 in the second quarter were older than 80. Only six percent were younger than 65.
There was excess mortality in the Netherlands every week of April, May, and June, except for the last week of May. Excess mortality means that more people died than expected for a period. The excess mortality was mainly visible among people over the age of 65 and people living in long-term care institutions.
The review of Australia’s COVID response reveals the cost of lockdowns and border closures. But don’t expect premiers or the former prime minister to concede errors.
In late 2022, the era of prolonged shutdowns, rigid border closures, unnecessary panics, social distancing and strict curfews seems more like a nightmare most people prefer to forget. But a scathing independent review of Australia’s COVID response is an awkward reminder of how governments made some very bad choices and why acknowledging this is the best way to avoid similar errors in a future crisis.
Not that humility or a willingness to concede errors is apparent among COVID’s political leadership group.
