Agron, I think you're not seeing the forest for the trees. Protests generally don't work anyway and all they do is point out to the authorities who they should look out for. Also, gives them the chance to arrest some troublemakers.
What I'm seeing happen is a case of civil disobedience on a massive scale, without any official declaration of it. I've been to change the tyres on my car yesterday and went to a bar while I was waiting. On the entrance to the terrace, there were signs to keep 2 metre distance and that disinfectant was mandatory. I sat there for 45 mins. No one, and I mean no one was respecting the rules. There were groups of up to 5 people sitting at the same table. No one wore a mask, not even the waitress. She didn't seem upset by anything at all.
I'm talking to people I know and every single one of them has at least some issues with the lockdown. People who have always viewed the world in a more or less mainstream manner are all of a sudden aware of the "hidden hand".
Just wait another month or two when everybody goes on holiday down to the coast and you will see that people are not doing what they're told on a massive scale. If they try to crack down, there will be an uprising. That's what I see. So why would you need a protest if people at large have already decided that things will be getting back to normal? What would be the point?
Once the economic fallout becomes apparent, that will be the time for some protesting, hopefully with more teeth than is usual in our western democracies.

Probably that the entire thing is more or less a scam. No one dies from the flu, and no one has died from SARS-CoV-2.
What I did forget to mention was that last Friday evening, the government released a huge dump of documents relating to the lock down, after hours so it messed the news programs, and simultaneously gagged all ministers from commenting on them, with all questions to the Prime Minister.
A couple of interesting insights came to light.
1. It appears we did not have the legal framework to go ahead with this Lock down which is why they are trying to force new legislation under urgency as we speak.
2. The Department of Health recommended that the government start at Level 2 for a couple of weeks to see how things progressed, but were overruled and we went straight to complete lock down, despite the PM claiming everything they did was "based on the experts advice"
3. The DOH also recommended that butchers and greengrocers be classified as essential services along side supermarkets and pharmacies. The government refused to do it.
4. The DOH also recommended that cafes and food places be allowed to serve takeaway food, fast food etc, another recommendation that was rejected.
If you were cynical you could suggest that the government deliberately hit NZ and the economy as hard as possible, against all the advice from DoH which they were supposedly following. People who actually read this stuff are really not happy at all.

Won't lie, one of my fondest hopes is that rejection of the lockdown fosters a spirit of rejection of all these asinine "public health" measures that have been forced down our throats in the name of "safety first". Ideally resulting in being able to smoke in the damn bars again.

This was about Nigeria, where the opposition accuses the ruling party of taking a 10mil bribe to share, from Bill Gates, if a vaccin law is swiftly passed. Question is why that has to pass in a day if there is no vaccin availabe. About the Bill:

I was thinking would it be possible that by using gloved hands to handle products is making The Virus™ live longer on surfaces and thus more transmissible?
Perhaps nature have developed by evolution and natural selection some kind of protection mechanism built in our fingermark and sweat.

There are interesting developments in this story and the controversy it’s created in the Church. Archbishop Vigano has released the timeline of events when Cardinal Sarah agreed to sign and then when he back-pedalled. Also released was the statement made by Cardinal Sarah that he was advised by friends to remove his name because he is currently employed by the Church.

The Prime Minister is giving herself authority to dictate the public health response that was previously held by the Director General of Health. It enables her and the Minister of Health to make political decisions and enforce regulations.
The amendments made by the opposition party are significant. This can be read in the supplementary information on the Bills website.
-Namely the bill has to be voted on and passed by the House of Representatives every three months—if it’s not it is repealed.
-the “enforcers” that the government can appoint must be police constables or current employees of the crown. They cannot appoint whoever they like.
- gatherings cannot be limited to less than 100 people.
- the Prime minister (Ardern) must consult with the Leader of the Opposition and the Director General of Health before making decisions.
This is creating quite a storm on social media. Even people on the left are weighing in about the human rights issues in this and are very surprised to find themselves being denounced as right wing fascists by the PMs adoring masses.
