It's Almost Impossible to Get COVID-19 on an Airplane, New Military Study Suggests​

A new military-led study unveiled Thursday shows there is a low risk for passengers traveling aboard large commercial aircraft to contract an airborne virus such as COVID-19 -- and it doesn't matter where they sit on the airplane.

Researchers concluded that because of sophisticated air particle filtration and ventilation systems on board the Boeing 767-300 and 777-200 aircraft -- the planes tested for the study -- airborne particles within the cabin have a very short lifespan, according to defense officials with U.S. Transportation Command, the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) and Air Mobility Command, which spearheaded the study.

Remdesivir - which was used to treat Trump - has 'little effect' on a COVID patient's chances of survival, WHO study reveals​

Remdesivir does not improve COVID-19 survival odds, a large World Health Organization (WHO) trial of it and three other treatments has ruled.

More than 11,200 hospitalized COVI-19 patients around the world were treated with remdesivir - an antiviral - lopinavir, hydroxychloroquine, interferon or a placebo for the WHO's massive SOLIDARITY trial, according to the Financial Times.

None of the drugs 'substantially affected' mortality risks, the dismal report found.

It's a blow to hopes that the world is getting better at treating people sickened by the pandemic that has claimed the lives of more than a million people globally, including more than 217,000 in the US.

SOLIDARITY's findings are particularly grim news for the US, where remdesivir is one of just two treatments to have gotten emergency Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorization.

US government research suggested the drug improved survival odds and shortened recovery times. The antiviral was even used to treat President Trump.

The federal government has already amassed a stockpile of the drug, and regulators revoked emergency approval for another drug found ineffective for treating coronavirus by the WHO trial, hydroxychloroquine, in June.

Overdose Deaths Explode In Ohio County After Lockdown, Coroner Cites Joblessness​

A county in Ohio has experienced a skyrocketing number of drug overdose deaths amidst the coronavirus pandemic and a government-mandated lockdown.

Franklin County saw a 73% increase in overdose deaths in the first six months of 2020 compared to the same time frame last year. Deaths began spiking in May, roughly two months into the state lockdown imposed to slow the spread of the coronavirus, according to Franklin County Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz

“From May on, probably is when we started seeing increases and increases in those who were dying of overdoses,” Ortiz said, according to ABC 6.

In Franklin County, 437 people died from overdoses in the first six months of the year, primarily from the drug fentanyl. Ortiz said that on the current trajectory, overdose deaths could hit more than 900 by the end of the year.

Ortiz said that rampant joblessness has likely been a significant factor in the surge in overdose deaths. As people lose their paychecks, they cut back on drug use. After people restore some income, whether through unemployment benefits or a new job, they return to drugs but are either abusing substances cut with fentanyl or begin using drugs at the same level before the pandemic.

The second half of this show is starting in my country also. The so-called "media" 2 weeks ago started to raise the numbers of newly infected people as they say. In reality, they made a few tests, some of them are positive.

Yesterday one person in a local supermarket told me that he was a witness to how they made about 50 tests and they write down that they made 190. You guess how they found positive ones. You just write down on paper a random number and you are increasing that number every day as they from" above" told you.

And we are having a new wave of this morna circus now.
So, now since we have so many new cases, the so-called " commission for infective diseases" which is in fact a group of morons and criminals, are preparing new restrictive measures.

Their plan is to force mandatory masks everywhere, to introduce new lockdowns, to change the law so that if they even suspect that you have a corona and you are not accepting any tests, they can put you in isolation ( jail) for 14 days. Later this will be probably modified so they could force a vaccine if they suspect that you are at risk. Also, they are working on many legal changes so that will be totally in the favor of molesting innocent people and pretend that it is all legal.
One of them is to allow the police to enter a home or a private property without any warrant to check if there are people from another household at your place, like neighbors, friends, family.
So it is installing totalitarian and fascistic rules as a new normal, Of course, it is for our own good and safety. It is like Gestapo is live again and like history is repeating.

So, what to say, madness is going on and on. Our economy is in knockdown so far.
If they introduce new lockdowns and they probably will very soon since all the propaganda is leading to that, in a few months the economy here will be in a knockout.
I read some speculations that the country is already bankrupt, so the situation is not going to be pleasant.

Very sad and terrible. Here in Portugal the situation deteriorates also, just saw an article in MSM here that already 2 million people living in poverty now, tens of thousands of them (and many children) go hungry and depend on organizations like Caritas to get them food etc. But no, the people are still "not listening" and "infection rates" rise and more severe measures are underway. We are back in the state of calamity until 31 october, allowing the government to make the justified measures whenever necessary.
The clown in charge Costa "stressed that the new measures serve to “frame” behaviour and he concluded with an appeal to the people of Portugal: “More than the inspection by the authorities, it is the inspection of our own conscience that is imposed to prevent risks and control the expansion of this pandemic”. Funnily, they leave the airports open, tourists are still flying in on a daily basis to support the economy here which is on life support and still the people completely buy into this nonsense.

For me reading the wise and insightful posts in the thread Shouldn't we be fighting this? is really helpful in accepting what is going on in the world and respecting the free will of others. What happens must happen, strategic enclosure to the max, sit back, read, envision a new beautiful world where people serve others from their hearts, for their community, because they so desire.
 
Short update from Belgium:

The Belgian "security council" gathered yesterday to decide the new measures for the next month. They didn't use the word 'lockdown', but:
-A curfew will be implemented, prohibiting people from leaving their homes for non-essential reasons between midnight and 5:00 AM.
-People will only be allowed to have one close contact, outside their own household.
-Households can also invite up to 4 guests, always the same ones, changing every two weeks. For these guests, the distance rules have to be respected.
-Teleworking where possible will be made mandatory again.
-Across the entire country, bars and restaurants have to close for four weeks.
-There will be a ban on selling alcohol after 8:00 PM.
-Food markets can stay open, following all measures that are already in force. Christmas markets, winter villages and flea markets, however, will not be possible.

So, we have to be grateful for not being in lockdown 😡
 
Some new developments in Australia. A political lobby group called Reignite Democracy Australia has started up in Melbourne. They are travelling around Melbourne in buses with signage saying 'Let us out', 'Sack Dan Andrews', 'Don't throw us under the bus' and 'Let us work'. They are regularly getting approached by the police, sometimes up to twice per hour, but since they've registered as a political lobby group, federal law protects them if they abide by a code of conduct. So the police are pretty much walking away and leaving them alone after questioning them and checking their paperwork. They have uploaded video's of their encounters with police on their fb page. Since the lobby group also provides them with work passes, they can also break the 5km from home rule. Apparently the laws for political lobby groups are very similar in US, UK and Canada.

Two small businesses in Melbourne have decided to re-open and risk the $10,000 fine. One a menswear shop, and the other a hair dresser. The menswear shop in Berwick, Harry's Clothing, attracted huge community support and did get fined. It will be another matter whether the fine will stand up in court. The hair dresser, Adam Weave and Barber Salon in Hughesdale also got fined. One of the complaints of the owners of the salon is that the police were all over them, but right next door was a dog grooming salon that was allowed to be open for business!
