Does anyone know if DMSA is still available in Canada? If so, is it available in any retail store (health food, pharmacy, etc?).

Thanks,
Gonzo

I recently got some from here:

Baker's protocol is the same one for mercury detox in autistic children:

DMSA
Vitamin C
Alpha lipoic acid
Zinc
Selenium
Vitamin B6
Vitamin E
Melatonin
Taurine
Reduced glutathione (Even if it doesn't get absorbed, apparently it helps to heal the gut, but we use NAC)

It is a two-week rotation with three days on DMSA and eleven days off. All of the supplements are taken every day, but the DMSA is taken only on days one through three of each cycle (200mg x 3, just for the first 3 days of each 14 days cycle). It is at least six cycles. More info on Baker's book: Detoxification and Healing.
I started DMSA detox yesterday. Baker recommends ALA ( 100 mg) and reduced glutathione ( 75 mg) 3 times a day . I don't have smaller capsules. Is it fine to take once with bigger dose instead of 3 smaller doses.

3 rounds of DMSA is done. I am excited to see so much sweat coming out in sauna consistently. Except that not much changes were observed yet.

Yesterday I started my first DMSA cycle. I bought 360 capsules (100g each) DMSA and 50g NAC from dmsachelation.com. Both of the substances smell like rotten eggs, but that's the sulfur which is part of the molecules. It's good :)

I am at least 5 months free of gluten, diary and coffee, and 1 month almost sugar free. Right now I am feeling excellent, even after taking DMSA. Let's see how the rest of the cycles go.

Is my assumption right, that DMSO can help DMSA on it's way through the body, or even help it cross the blood brain barrier?

Yeah, even some metal chelators like DMPS are sold mixed with a bit of DMSO. But I will wait a few cycles to see how it goes. It can get sometimes pretty rough.

I have been on the detox diet for about five months .About three weeks ago I finally started taking DMSA and all is well.
However I am still apprehensive about taking the DMSO so it is still sitting in my cupboard.
What does 'can get pretty rough' mean?

I'm half way trough my 4Th cycles. The inconvenience of the first 2 cycles are lessening (almost gone in the fourth) and the tiredness wasn't felt in the 3-4th cycles. Still taking my sauna as posted before, I may stop after this cycles until I get my last two amalgam containing mercury change and then do another 2 cycles.

Hi Stellar,

I was referring to possible side effects described earlier in this thread: headaches, anxiousness, upset stomachs, etc.

I kinda hoped that's all it meant.
Well there's only one way to find out, but I think I'll wait until next weekend to begin when I'm not working.
Thank you Psyche.

I've finally ordered DMSA. It's been out of my financial reach for several months. I'm hoping to go through a first stage of using it before a trip I've got planned in August. I'll have to read further through the thread to see how long to go on and off with it. I still have 2 Mercury fillings which should be switched out/changed around the end of September.

Still working at a few things to eliminate from my diet (some sugars/dressings).

In terms of feeling bushed/washed out day 4 of the third round was the worst, starting from the moment I woke up. Yesterday, day 9 of the third cycle, was the first day that I've felt energized 'to do' - which I appreciate is an effect of 'anxiety', and it was the first day that my body has stopped aching after walking. And, at least the 'mental fuzziness' has gone. Like others have reported the sauna sessions are awash with water. And, the FIR blanket stinks of 'asparagus' where my mouth and nose is during the session. I've still got some mercury fillings that need replacing, and are programmed into the rest of the rounds.
