DMSA for heavy metal detox - how long available?

Much food for thought here. I've never actually thought about my thoughts and experiences existing in another realm, only my will. Amazing, now that you draw it to my attention. I'm finding I really need to think more about what you have written before I give more of a response, particularly about interrelationships. I work at a computer/help line all day and find I need to do something different once I get home. I spend as much time outside as I can in other seasons than winter. I'm in the early part of Lights Out now and finding it a great read.

Reading through the whole thread and compare with the information from the Baker's "Detoxification and Healing" book I have found that the "Mercury Detoxification Procedure" is not applied properly. Let me explain why, citing from his book:

[Begin quote] p.112
The doses in the table below are geared to a child weighing forty pounds. If you weigh eighty pounds, you can double them; if you weigh 120, you can triple them; and so on.

Nutrient Details Dose Per day
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
DMSA Succimer, Chemet 200mg Three times
....

[End quote]

And therefore it may give you useful hints of whether the DMSA you bought is working and its side effects as applied according to your weight. For example in the case of a person with 120 pounds (55 Kg) you need 9 capsules each day which means for the 6 cycles you need 9 * 3 * 6 = 162 x 200mg (or 384 x 100mg). Now, it really looks a little bit expensive (especially for overweight people), but way to cheap when talking about getting rid of heavy metals.

I haven't tried it yet, still looking for the other nutrients.

Yeah, we decided to keep the children's protocol because a number of people were having symptoms with that dose. Then after the cycles went by, we started to see good results with those doses. So if you have monetary problems and want to stay on the safe side, you can use the children's protocol.

Thanks for the tip, Psyche.

Better to start on low doses and see the results, I almost forgot each person is unique.

Just a note that I finished my second round doing the full dose last week. Besides feeling depressed on day 2 of the second round, no other noticeable reactions. We'll see how I handle the later doses!

I finished the 5th round of dmsa this weekend. It was one of the most difficult weekends, severe symptoms, splitting headaches and aching in every joint, bone and muscle which was only relieved by getting in the FAR sauna. This is great! I think my body has shed quite a load of mercury. My mind seems to be clearer, although I still feel physically exhausted. Thank you for this thread and all of the information posted here. :)

Thank you all for the information and experiences gained when on DMSA protocol. Im now on the 1st cycle, 2nd day, and was unprepared for symptons to occur so soon, especially because I went on a candida cleanse and had almost no side-effects that I could tell.

The symptons that occurred today: nausea, inability to focus, general lethargy, low appetite, severe anxiousness, stomach pangs, and a distinct smell from urinating. I havent bought a FIR blanket yet, but plan on ordering one. In the meantime, since I have a difficult time sweating (which is another indication of severe toxicity) Im going to do some type of consistent aerobics or exercise with layers in order to sweat out the toxins. Every other day seems good until I get the blanket, which will probably be a few cycles in.

So I'm doing my DMSA first cycle now. I took the first dose Friday and then ate breakfast soon after. Then I found out it's best to take it on an empty stomach. Does taking it with morning supplements count as an empty stomach, or best to take only the DMSA?

I haven't had any detox reactions. I kind of want some, to know if it's working. My bottle expires in September, so it should be good still. If anything I was more energized on Friday, but it could be due to some inner growth I've had recently. I did have a little stomach ache on Friday, but it was from drinking a little water an hour and 45 mins. after taking the dose. And Like Turgon said, I too can smell the sulfur in my urine. :P

One thing I didn't realize is that my bottle from dmsachelation.com has rice flour in it. I decided to take it because I have waited over a year to do this, putting off the USD and anti-candida diets. So I took it, not wanting to delay any longer, and it was one of my aims.

But I'm wondering in light of the recent session about eating habits if that was such a good idea. I noticed a slight inflammatory burning sensation in my arms on one dose from the rice. I guess I could sell it or give it away online and buy one without rice flour. The price was also a consideration in taking it.

Bugger do I follow the US Diet first and then the detox? I've just ordered both books and have been following a pretty gluten free diet for 3 months. How long before starting the detox from the USD??

The USD you can follow until you have tested whatever foods you want to eat. A few months it will take. Then I heard it's good to make sure you have no candida problems before you do a DMSA detox. After that you can do the DMSA detox. But I guess if you really wanted or needed to get the mercury out, you could just do it asap. Being free of dairy, gluten, sugar, msg, additives, etc. will help you transition to the DMSA detox though.

This post might help to give a guideline as well. http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=21918.msg235764#msg235764

Edit: Look at Laura's post #384 on that page. For some reason when I click the link it doesn't directly show that one.

I'm fairly certain DMSA is taken on it's own. I believe it's 30 min before eating anything and a few hours after eating. I usually take my other supplements just before or after eating depending on what it is, but never with the DMSA (Just like when taking the candida cleanse supplements).

Be careful what you wish for. ;)

But some folks don't experience detox reactions until some of the later cycles, like 3rd of 4th. I personally have no idea why I experienced them so early in.

Ok, that is what I am doing, I want to have just the DMSA doing its work.

Ok, I think I'll just sit tight then. It's a long protocol anyways, so there's more time to feel the effects. Thanks for the advice.

Hi again. I'm on the last day of the 6th round and am experiencing the same joint and pain aching as I did with round 5, but to a lesser extent. I have noticed that I sweat more readily in the sauna blanket now. The DMSA I'm taking has rice flour in it, but never considered that as part of feeling inflammed all over. With all of the changes happening as discussed in the latest session thread, I find it difficult to know the source of many of the symptoms. Definitely feeling lethargic an wanting to give up the last couple of weeks and very irritable today, the worst since I started the detox protocol. During round 5 I was in too much pain to be irritable. LOL!
