Earthquakes around the world

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT FEBRUARY 19_2024

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. M5.2 quake shook southeastern Pakistan, but the closest significant population center near the earthquake is Bandipura, India located 113 kilometer north of the epicenter. No aftershocks have been detected within 100 km of the epicenter. Aftershocks are usually at least 1 order of magnitude less strong than main shocks. The more time passes, the smaller the chance and likely strength of any potential aftershocks. There are no reports of damage or casualties.

In South America, Peru and Ecuador were shaken by M5+ earthquakes. The earthquakes in Peru registered M5.1, one of them occurred at the boundaries of the Nazca and South American plates and one more intra-plate in the Chazuta region within the South American plate with a intermediate depth of 106 km The closest significant population center near the earthquake is La Banda in San Martín, Peru. La Banda is located 13 kilometer east of the epicenter. There are no reports of damage or casualties.

On the other hand, a M5.1 earthquake occurred northwest of Ecuador in maritime territory, so no damage or casualties were reported and the earthquake did not warrant a tsunami warning.

The total number of earthquakes recorded worldwide in the last 24 hours has decreased to 805 which is within the normal range of activity.

According to Volcano earthquake report, volcano earthquake swarm occurred in:

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT FEBRUARY 21_2024

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. Two very deep earthquakes shook the Fiji-Tonga region. These deep earthquakes (300-400 km) are common in this region which includes Vanuatu and the Kermadec Islands northeast of New Zealand.

Depth map
Earthquakes_and_plates.png

A M5.1 earthquake occurred 88 km north of Sumenep, Indonesia, at a considerable depth of 598.7 km, this depth is common in the Indonesian region, in fact a magnitude 7.1 earthquake occurred beneath the Bali Sea on August 29, 2023 at 03:55 local time at a great depth of 513 km. For this reason people experienced very weak shaking.

The M5+ earthquakes occurred at the Australian and Pacific plate boundaries. It is possible that a seismic event may occur in Indonesia region in response to the M5.1 earthquake that had a great depth.

The total number of earthquakes recorded worldwide in the last 24 hours has increased to 996 which is above the normal range of activity.

According to Volcano earthquake report, volcano earthquake swarm occurred in Clear Lake (42 quakes between mag 0.2-1.6) Most of the active volcanoes recorded low seismic activity.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT FEBRUARY 22_2024

Low levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. Papua New Guinea, Kuril’sk Islands and Tandag Philippines recorded moderate seismic activity of M5+ It is common for some to think that X-class flares generate significant earthquakes on Earth. This is proven not to be the case after the two X-flares X1+ that occurred on February 21 and whose flares impacted mainly the western Pacific Ocean. In order for a large earthquake event to occur after an X-class flare, other factors such as current state of the earth's crust, the planetary and lunar alignments, solar wind speed (>600 km/s) and the impact of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (>10 nT) must be present.

The total number of earthquakes recorded worldwide in the last 24 hours has increased to 1060 which is above the normal range of activity. Clear lake volcano increased its seismic activity and there was a slight rebound in volcanic activity in Iceland.

The question would be, do solar flares have any influence on the increase of seismic and volcanic activity?

According to Volcano earthquake report, volcano earthquake swarm occurred in:

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT FEBRUARY 24_2024

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A strong 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Nicaragua, Saturday afternoon. The quake had a moderate depth of 84 km. The largest and closest city where the earthquake could have been felt is Leon, a city with more than 140,000 inhabitants in Nicaragua, 41 km east of the epicenter. USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. No aftershocks have been recorded so far.

Light earthquake activity also occurred in Peru (M4.6), Chile (M4.9) and Ecuador (M4.6). In Mexico, an M4.0 earthquake was recorded in the city of Cuernavaca, Morelos which generated fear among the population since on September 19, 2017 in the same area an M7.1 earthquake occurred which caused catastrophic damage in the state affecting more than 23 000 properties in practically all the municipalities of the state. Mexico City was the entity that concentrated the highest number of fatalities due to its population density and subsoil structure that amplifies seismic waves, as the city is located on the muddy soil of what was once Lake Texcoco.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT FEBRUARY 25_2024

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. M6.0 earthquake southwest of Pelabuhanratu, Indonesia was updated to M5.6. USGS estimated that the risk of fatalities and damage from this earthquake was low. The earthquake could be felt by more than 56.6 million people throughout Indonesia but only as a barely perceptible or weak, if any, jolt. For this earthquake, 6 aftershocks have been detected so far. The strongest was a magnitude 5.2 quake that hit 1 hour and 58 minutes after the mainshock.

Light earthquakes continue to occur in South America, this time Argentina (M4.5) Ecuador (M4.7) Chile (M4.5 & M4.9) Meanwhile, a swarm of light M4+ earthquakes occurred in southeastern Mexico, in the State of Oaxaca.

SSN reported a micro-earthquake in Mexico City (CDMX) with a magnitude 2.0 A few weeks ago, researchers from the Engineering Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, announced that the micro-earthquakes are the result of a fault which they called the Plateros-Mixcoac Fault located within the CDMX
Falla-Plateros-Mixcoac-la-posible-responsable-de-los-microsismos-en-CDMX.jpg
The Plateros-Mixcoac Fault extends for more than one kilometer, uninterruptedly crossing areas within the CDMX that include the municipalities of Álvaro Obregón and Magdalena Contreras, even in the latter there have been registered properties where there are damages that are considered serious for the type of earthquake that is registered in those areas.

About the recent earthquake in China, here's further information on twitter :

True or fake ? i would tend to think that the event is true
Man-made (3D) or natural ? That i don't know, but the man-made option, not to say US, would fit easily.

IMO it is fake news and the light was projected.

Of course, it is projected. You can see the projector lights and light rays below.

This was the earthquake they mention and it was probably an aftershock of the M7 earthquake in January. The earthquake was reviewed by several agencies.

Yes, I think they are projected.

Also, last January 22 a powerful M7.0 occurred in the same region and no "earthquake lights" were seen (as they are called) Earthquake lights are more like lightning.

The earthquake that they mention happened in conjunction with the lights had an updated magnitude of M5.4. Moderate, earthquakes do not produce earthquake lights

Finally, both earthquakes occurred in a mountainous area that is difficult to access. Weak shaking could have been felt in Aykol, located 139 km from the epicenter, and in Karakol 143 km away.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT FEBRUARY 26_2024

Low levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A new earthquake shook Nicaragua, now with M5.1 at a depth of 184 km. The last earthquake was M5.3 at a depth of 83 km. USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses.

M5.1 earthquake also shook New Zealand. The quake had a very shallow depth of 10 km and was felt widely in the area. The closest larger town where the quake might have been felt is Ashburton, a town with 30,000 inhabitants in New Zealand, in 55 km distance southeast of the epicenter. People likely experienced light shaking there. No reports of damage or casualties were reported.

Earthquakes shake Smiths Ferry, felt in Treasure Valley
