Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A strong magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit 447 km away from Attu Station, Alaska. The quake had a moderate depth of 119 km and was not felt. No significant damage or impact is expected from this quake and no particular alert was issued.
The same happened with the M5.4 earthquake in the Macquarie Islands 496 km from Australia. The quake had a very shallow depth of 10 km (6 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so).
