Not sure if there is any connection, but 19 May is in Turkey a commemoration day of Atatürk "celebrated to commemorate Mustafa Kemal's landing at Samsun on May 19, 1919, which is regarded as the beginning of the Turkish War of Independence in the official historiography." (Wikipedia)

But it was also established a day of commemorating the the Greek Pontus genocide in the Ottoman Empire:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_genocide

Following an initiative of MPs of the so-called "patriotic" wing of the ruling PASOK party's parliamentary group and like-minded MPs of conservative New Democracy,[104] the Greek Parliament passed two laws on the fate of the Ottoman Greeks; the first in 1994 and the second in 1998. The decrees were published in the Greek Government Gazette on 8 March 1994 and 13 October 1998 respectively. The 1994 decree affirmed the genocide in the Pontus region of Asia Minor and designated 19 May (the day Mustafa Kemal landed in Samsun in 1919) a day of commemoration,[105] while the 1998 decree affirmed the genocide of Greeks in Asia Minor as a whole and designated 14 September a day of commemoration.[106] These laws were signed by the President of Greece but were not immediately ratified after political interventions.

Is the crash of Egyptair Flight 804 linked to the France-led resistance against US escalation vs. Russia?
http://katehon.com/article/crash-egyptair-flight-804-linked-france-led-resistance-against-us-escalation-vs-russia

US establishment is frantically trying to force European countries to approve missile systems aimed at Russia. They are desperate to entrap Europe into a military confrontation (with a soon-to-come provocation to light the fuse) with Russia. July is the deadline.

U.S. officials believe that if NATO doesn’t use its July summit in Warsaw to take control of the missile-defense system and declare it operational, Russia will declare that the alliance is bending to its will.

The new missile system is supposed to keep Europe in a perennial confrontation with Russia against its own interests. The American elites are terrified of the coming presidential elections when a Trump (or Sanders?) administration could rescue the US from the never ending policies of “ Wars & Financial Looting”. France has been leading the resistance against the missile system (recently implanted even in impoverished Romania) that would be nominally a NATO program, but in reality it’s a US controlled operation against Europe.

Just today, the Wall Street Journal denounced France for its opposition to the diktat from Washington. The newspaper, a known voice of Wall Street and the Bush-Clintons, explained that the French resistence must be broken in time for the July NATO meeting when the NATO countries are supposed to accept “ownership” and become “responsible” for the "missile shield”:

French officials said they are withholding their approval for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to take control of the US-built European missile-defense system, a position the alliance and American officials hope they can persuade Paris to change before the alliance summit in July.

“It is not just a technical question— there is a political aspect,” a French official told the Journal. “If it is [a] NATO system, NATO takes the responsibility if you shoot down the missile. NATO takes responsibility if you miss.” The US side wants the issue be forced into the Europe’s throat already at the May 19 NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels.

Germany, and even Italy seem to be on the same page with France on rejecting pressure. This is a situation (European leaders resisting the Anglo-Americans plans) similar to others in the recent past when France and Belgium were hit by extremely sophisticated military attacks in the form of terrorism. Is the crash of EgyptAir flight 804 from Paris to Cairo a warning to stop resisting or else?

All Greek news-sites report that no wreckage was found of the EgyptAir flight. Also, the french minister of foreign affairs is saying that they are looking into all possible reasons for the crash, because they have no evidence to point at a particular scenario. So to me it seems that whatever have caused the disappearance of the plane, it wasn't planned by certain powers/groups, because they don't sound to have a narrative ready to sell to the press. Or so I think at the moment. We'll see with more info coming in.

I agree at this point. Haven't read all posts today yet, But this is the key feature of the unexplainable disappearances or 'crashes'. ... No ready narrative in place. And no debris yet, They are floundering around on this one. Information and disinformation to sift through in the mean time. Thanks for the continuing updates here.

The US State Secretary John Kerry traveled on Wednesday May 18th to the presidential palace in Egypt. In news “The US secretary of state has held talks with the Egyptian president in Cario on the country’s political situation and peace proposals for the region, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” Translating from the political doublespeak into English: The US and Israel tried to push Egypt to drop its support for the upcoming UN Palestine resolution. Israel has even tried to bribe the Egyptian leaders, by announcing during the meeting that “Israel may forgive half of Egypt’s $1.7b gas fine for a gas pipeline explosion in el-Arish, Egypt in July, 2012.” And this is very important: “Kerry: Egypt key regional partner by Jerusalem Post Israel News – ‎18 hours ago‎ Kerry’s brief visit fueled speculation that a behind the- scenes US-Egyptian-led peace process with Israel and other regional partners was in the works, which would circumvent the highly publicized French initiative to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. ”

Apparently, the US and Israel didn’t get what they want from Egypt, that’s why the passenger airliner went down in a suspected “terror attack.”

and this today on sputnik - The Hamas movement has fired two rockets from Gaza in the Mediterranean Sea, local media reported.

At the very least, that's a plausible motive for US/Israel (or their true masters) to arrange another plane disappearance – as a warning to toe the line. On the other hand, why make it "disappear"? Wouldn't a crash or shoot down have been more spectacular? These plane disappearances have a flavor of hyperdimensional meddling, perhaps it's to show and remind those in the know of how powerful "they" are.

Now word (on TV a few minutes ago) is that 'they' have found plane parts, bodies and luggage.

That's what I was just reading too:

EgyptAir debris, body part, passenger belongings found, Pres. Sisi offers condolences to families
A body part, two seats and suitcases from the EgyptAir Airbus A320 have been found by Egyptian rescuers, Greece's defense minister, Panos Kammenos, said later on Friday. Greece has been notified about the discovery by the Egyptian authorities, he told journalists in Athens

"Regarding the outputs of the research, we have been briefed by the Egyptian JRCC (Joint Rescue Coordination Center) – and that was also announced to the media – about the discovery of a body part, two seats and luggage at the scene of the search, slightly to the south of where the plane's signal was lost. That is to the south and east of where the plane was lost, and further north of yesterday's sighting, that was not confirmed to be debris from the plane."

He also stressed that Greek radars detected that the aircraft had taken a normal course through Greece’s airspace and did not deviate. The radars then spotted sharp turns in the aircraft’s trajectory as it plunged from a cruising altitude to 15,000ft, then disappearing from radars.

The Egyptian military said in a statement earlier that it detected parts of debris and some of the passengers’ belongings while searching for the aircraft's black box, according to Reuters.

The army's statement, posted on its official Facebook page, adds that the search operation is under way, involving naval vessels and military aircraft.[...]

With Condolences to the people whom have lost there lives. And with respect to there families, and friends.

Also my condolences to the families.

I don't know how far fetched it is, but since unfortunately many refugees died crossing the Mediterranean Sea, easily body parts or ship wreckage could be found and said it is from the EgyptAir flight imo.

My feelings exactly - very aggrieved for the families, but is it even possible to believe anything that's being presented as official truth anymore? Perhaps Russia will shed light on this - satellites can expose a lot!

Probably too much to hope for, but wouldn't it be something if this flight and MH370 appeared out of nowhere to land at the nearest airport in a way that couldn't be covered up. Not sure now, but didn't the Cs make a reference to a scenario like that?

'Smoke detected inside the aircraft cabin'

Smoke was detected inside the aircraft cabin in the final moments before it crashed, according to the Aviation Herald, a specialist site that reports on the airline industry, writes Raf Sanchez in Cairo.

It isn't clear exactly what the detected smoke means but it could indicate an explosion or a fire onboard the aircraft.

The Herald said that three independent sources passed on data from the A320's Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS). The system shows that at 2.26am local time smoke was detected in aircraft lavatory.

A minute later another smoke sensor went off. A series of faults continued until 2.29am when the system stopped recording.

And in the meantime...

Military police helicopter crashes in France

A French helicopter has gone down in the Pyrenees near the Spanish border with four Gendarmerie members on board, officials said. All four officers were killed.

The aircraft was conducting a training exercise when it hit a cliff face in the mountainous area near Cauterets, southwestern France, authorities said on Friday.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known, according to a statement from the French Interior Ministry.

That's the third one in the tragic series, with the crash of the EgyptAir flight and the crash of a small plane in the Spanish Basque Country with three French victims.

What about a consequence of a drill on the Mediterranean that NATO is doing NOW:

International Phoenix Express Naval Drills to Kick Off in Mediterranean Sea

The international Phoenix Express 2016 naval exercises will take place May 17 – 27 in the Mediterranean Sea.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — This year, Algeria, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and the United States, representatives from the NATO Shipping Center, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the EU border management agency Frontex are taking part in the drills.

The exercises envisage scenarios that will help improve upon regional cooperation, information-sharing practices, and operational capabilities, according to United States Naval Forces Europe. The naval part of the exercises will test the sides’ abilities to respond to challenges of migration, trafficking and the movement of weapons. They will also conduct search and rescue operations.

This is the tenth iteration of these drills, while this year they are taking place against the backdrop of the global migrant crisis.

The Mediterranean Sea is one of the main routes for migrants attempting to flee armed conflicts in North Africa and the Middle East. The Central Mediterranean route leads from Libya to Malta or Italy.

So is it possible that a missile is responsible of the accident? The fact that the airplane did some strange movements in its fly, just before the accident, can it be because it saw a missile coming to him? But evidently if it was a missile, they will never, ever say it.

Could have been an accident. I mean, a military weapon test of some sort with this plane being in the right place, unfortunately. Kiind of like what happened with TWA 800, or so I read.

EgyptAir flight data show smoke alerts before crash
21 May 2016 / 06:05
http://en.apa.az/news/243932
Baku-APA. New clues emerged Friday about EgyptAir Flight 804, but there were no answers as to what caused the plane to go down in the Mediterranean Sea, APA reports quoting CNN.

There were smoke alerts near the airliner cockpit early Thursday in the minutes before it crashed, according to flight data CNN obtained Friday from an Egyptian source.

The data came through the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), a data link for sending messages between planes and ground facilities. A screen grab of data has time stamps that match the approximate time the aircraft went missing.

Skipping Down

There have been electrical problems with window anti-ice heaters in A320s. In 2003, the FAA required windshields replaced in all A320s in the United States. It's not known whether Egypt followed the FAA directive.

Update:

Data available:
On May 20th 2016 The Aviation Herald received information from three independent channels, that ACARS (Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System) messages with following content were received from the aircraft:
http://avherald.com/h?article=4987fb09&opt=0
00:26Z 3044 ANTI ICE R WINDOW
00:26Z 561200 R SLIDING WINDOW SENSOR

00:27Z 2600 AVIONICS SMOKE
00:28Z 561100 R FIXED WINDOW SENSOR
00:29Z 2200 AUTO FLT FCU 2 FAULT
00:29Z 2700 F/CTL SEC 3 FAULT
no further ACARS messages were received.

Early May 21st 2016 the French BEA confirmed there were ACARS messages just prior to break down of communications warning however that they are insufficient to understand the causes of the accident until flight data or cockpit voice recorders have been found. Priority as of current is to find the wreckage and the recorders.

Modified Conjecture.

ESA also claims with the help of a satellite to may have found an oil slick in the Mediterranean Sea:

BERLIN (Reuters) - A European satellite spotted a potential oil slick in the area of the eastern Mediterranean Sea where an EgyptAir jet disappeared with 66 people on board, the European Space Agency (ESA) said on Friday (May 20).

The image, taken by satellite Sentinel-1A at 1600 GMT on Thursday, shows a slick about 2km long, roughly 40km south-east of the aircraft's last-known location.

A second image taken at 4am GMT on Friday showed that the slick had drifted by about 5km.

The ESA said it had passed on information related to the image to the relevant authorities but said there was no guarantee that the slick was from the EgyptAir plane. It said another satellite, Sentinel-2A, would pass over the same area on May 22.

The Egyptian navy said earlier on Friday it had found the personal belongings of passengers and other debris floating in the Mediterranean, confirmation that the EgyptAir jet had plunged into the sea.

What I find interesting that there isn't that much media attention to the story. Yes, head of the Russian FSB even openly declared that it was probably a terror attack, thus promoting the "terror angle", but since then there were no "true or false" taking responsibility declarations by any of the terrorist groups. And there is not much you can hear on the news about the story at all. At least on the Russian news.

The claim for terror attack was based on the sudden sharp turns the plane was making, but what if there was something else evolved?

I stumbled upon a very curious incident that made me wonder about the possible connection between this story and the disappearing flight. The article is in Russian, but you can read here a somewhat decent, but probably automatic translation. Or maybe someone can find an article on the Greek news site? Or perhaps some English speaking site?

Anyways, the gist of the story is that 15 hours after the disappearance of EgyptAir flight MS804, another flight couldn't be contacted. The plane belonged to one of the American airlines, and it flew from France to Kuwait with 140 passengers on board.

The plane couldn't be contacted for several hours (!), so Greek military planes were dispatched from their base in Cyprus, and when they reached the plane they saw through the cockpit that both of the pilots were asleep (!). Apparently flight attendant saw the military planes and woke up the pilots. All this time the plane was flying on autopilot. Apparently it managed to fly all this time by itself while dispatchers from Italy and Greece tried to contact them. Even NATO was alerted, since they were afraid it was a terror attack.

Now, apparently both pilots falling asleep has a precedence. For example, back in 2009 two pilots flying to Hawaii fell asleep and overshoot the airport. But they fell asleep for over an hour (not hours!), and luckily this behavior doesn't seem to be that prevalent. Or at least we hope so.

I just wonder if there wasn't something else involved here? We don't know what really happened to EgyptAir flight MS804, so it is just a wild speculation, but what if both pilots also fell asleep and their plane was remotely controlled? And the same was attempted with the second plane? Or maybe there is some other explanation? Or it is just a coincidence. Thoughts?
