Of course, for the "authorities" 'natural' has to mean a fire on board, or "pilot error" or something like that. Based on what we've figured out about previous crashes, some kind of 'extreme' natural event looks the most likely.

Was thinking along these lines too. Another point I found curious was that Russian FSB chief said it could be a "possible terror attack". Last time Russian officials declared a terror attack on their plane, it turned our to be pulse or exotic type weapon.
