Éiriú-Eolas - Breathing Program

Brief update:

Having a hard time doing the EE due to allergies and asthma. The weather is very steamy, hot, and basically like stepping outside into a wet dishrag. I can't go outside at all without breathing problems. When I can, I listen to POTS. Right now I'm working on getting inflammation down. I've had success eating plain white rice and grilled chicken breasts to treat some of the ickier allergy reactions. I'll try the DMSO come Monday...I want to be sure the icky stuff is over with first. ;)

For the DMSO, I'm going to start with a half teaspoon in large glass of water, and do that once a day for three days. If it goes well, I'll go up to one teaspoon for another three days, then stop. I'll report back when I can. :)

Ever since I've started doing EE, I've had intense feelings of energy moving through different areas of my body. At the beginning, it felt as though first my brain, spinal column and then my body was being rewired for lack of a better term. The path it took was like a figure 8/infinity sign. That was like a first pass. After that, different parts were being worked on. At this point, it's the back/shoulders/neck and head. This also doesn't just occur during EE but can happen at anytime automatically especially at night.

I've kept up with most of this thread and unless I've missed something, haven't really heard of anyone referring to their experiences in this manner. Has anyone here experienced it to this extreme?

edit: clarification

160 days of EE; REPORT

1. Still feeling depressed
2. Usage of Sumatripan (migraine medicine) is on 1/11 of last year dosage
3. Ugly, scary and vivid dreams increased sometimes up to 4 per night after EE bed time session
4. Quality of sleep increased, insomnia present only when having strong migraines, can not perform Ba-Ha portion of EE when pain is increased, if I start with EE when having aura (usually 24 hours before actual migraine) pain is much smaller.
5. No more tinnitus
6. Less of muscle pain in region of neck and shoulders
7. No side effects of tobacco smoking even with increased dosage of nicotine
8. Increased yawning during 3 stage breathing and POS
9. Immediate and deep sleep after last reading of POS
10. Less and less of appetite
11. Increased need of: hidration and nicotine
12. No more Ophidiophobia and Arachnophobia, have no clue what happened and how (but had dreams about snakes and spiders weekly and almost identical), right now I even made photos with living snakes from terrarium and can watch spiders on TV without heart arrhythmia and panic attacks. :)
13. Working 10 hours per day as usuall but with more things done, I usually need around 8 hours to do same quantity and quality of work I needed 10 hours before, great relief.
14. Muscle spasms in hands and legs are gone, I actually forgot how often I had to work and fight with almost piercing spasms.
15.POS and 3 stage breathing are real treasure, I often catch myself doing 3 stage breathing and POS while having tea break, walk on beach, travel or when doing long office hours.

Thank you Laura, EE is fabulous breathing program.

That's interesting, I've noticed lately that my fear of heights, at one time very pronounced, is starting to diminish. I used to not even be able to go up a ladder without feeling exposed and now I navigate up the ladder with ease. Their has also been other situations where I would have normally been a little wobbly-kneed up in the air but it seems that I no longer have as strong of a phobia there as I used to. EE rules!

Edit: Living where I live, I haven't been able to test my other phobia, that of snakes, to see if that has been affected. Not sure though, but the thought of them near me at the moment is enough to give me the shudders...

Last summer i started with the EE program, and the fisrt week i did it every day, i felt a pain in my back in the middle of shoulder blades every time i was in the first step (pipe breathing)

I have had this happen, especially when I take really deep breaths. I can feel a pressure or sharp pain in my back between the shoulders on the spine. Sometimes I even crack my back just by breathing, especially when doing 3 stage breathing.

I do hear a faint hhhh, but with other noises too (maybe because of the allergies that I have) .

This is very possible. I find that if i have phlegm in my throat while breathing there are more noises than just the hhhhhhh ;)

When I have phlegm in my throat it does this too, like the passage is obstructed. It's kind of like if you cover one nostril and try to breathe. It can get annoying when you're pipe breathing and you've got phlegm you're trying to clear. It's like a tickle that you're trying to get rid of.

Nice to hear, I'm not the only one who solved some phobias on EE way, hope your snake phobia will diminish as well .

This has probably been mentioned many times already, but just in case (I don't remember, this thread is so long! :-[). I notice a difference in the effectiveness of EE when coupled with diet and reading. There have been times when I've felt a pressure in one area or another and within half an hour of doing some reading I felt a definite shift. While it may not have cleared up completely, there was some movement enegy wise.

Hi truth seeker. I'm wondering what specifically you're reading? I ask because I don't think I've ever felt any sort of physical energy shift like you're describing from reading and I'm wondering if the material may be a catalyst.
Thanks :)

For me this has happened over a few months, but usually it was forum related like the books on the recommended reading list (books on narcissism etc). Sorry if that was confusing. My current take on it is that it's the influx of knowledge that helps with it in addition to diet and the EE. I may be off on this though.

I've noticed this too in regards to reading the recommended books, particularly the Wave Series. Sometimes by just reading a part of a chapter, it feels like energies within me are shifting. At times when the Predator's mind is strong, by reading any material rich in knowledge helps to calm me and minimize all the internal chatter, negative feeding, or intense feelings of anxiety or stress. My mind becomes more focused on the material I'm reading and I feel better too. I chalked it up to my own imagination, but it seems to be a legitimate phenomenon.

Also, just to report in on the zoning out. Like a lot have mentioned, my zoning out has decreased a lot since last summer, but one thing I noticed recently, is that when I do hit a 'deep' meditation where it feels like the onset of a zoning out will occur, it's always during the Ba-Ha portion of the program. Just recently (only took me about 8 months ) I realized I wasn't doing a full, deep breathe in and out while doing Ba-ha, only just following the count and maybe hitting 60-80% of my full in-breathe capacity. But last week, I did full breathes in and out during that portion, and I zoned in and out.

I started feeling a vibration all along my spinal column and my belly, my body became incredibly relaxed, and the pauses during the POTS seemed incredibly long, like time slowed down. Not sure if it was a full-on zoning, but these are just some observations over the last few weeks.

Hi all

I posted this on the Eiriu-Eolas message board but never did here, so here goes:

Two years ago I had to drop out of classes if they had any sort of public speaking in them. I would try to muscle myself into getting in front of everyone but would feel too threatened. I would even have extreme hot flashes while waiting tables at the restaurant where I work if I were feeling too sensitive. Obviously I had an EXTREME fear of trying to express myself. Well now, 7 months after beginning the meditation, I have such a complete change in confidence that I've enrolled in private college. I'm testing it out this summer with English composition courses and, during class discussions, I don't have as much of a tendency to internally consider myself to death. It's actually really fun debating with other students and, instead of clamming up when I feel nervous, I can accept it as a natural part of growing. I guess now I'm just worried that I made the wrong decision, enrolling in a private college with the economy the way it is, but then again the horrible economy is just an attempt to starve us off anyways, right? Well that's off topic but, as far as expressing myself goes, I feel like a new person. Thanks everyone!

Wow Hespen, that's really nice! Thanks for sharing. I also think it's great that it has helped others as well to overcome their fears easily, perhaps by also understanding them better.

I had all kinds of mixed feelings during the beginning of BaHa but then was able to gently calm myself and focused on Laura's voice.

During the POTS I saw a fish swimming, not in my mind's eye though, but when I had my eyes closed. I thought immediately that it is my Animal Totem, could it? Maybe I saw it because I have a goldfish myself in my room?
I've read the description of Fish and Water Animal Totems and so far it's pretty interesting! Don't know though.

Hi everybody.

Today i have been recieving the Reiki Usui lvl 1. There are some exercices i have to practise over myself and i have read in this forum about some "incompatibility" between the EE program and the Reiki, but i'm not sure what does it means.

Can i go on with the EE program and doing the Reiki exercices? Or i must practice only one of them?

Thank you.

Waiting for yours comments:

Antonio

Very interesting!

Well I haven't had anything quite that intense through the whole body, but have felt very strong energy at the crown of my head during and sometimes after EE. Sometimes it's so strong it really feels like something solid is going into my brain. (kinda hard to explain this accurately, hope this makes sense)

I also remember an episode that occurred when I first read SHOTW (first book of Laura's I had read) years ago, which I'm convinced was my brain re-wiring. I felt a sudden surge of energy that was quite painful in one ear for about 15 minutes, then it switched to the other ear and same thing. The whole episode went on for an hour or so, then the pain went away and never came back.

Thank-you Oxajil, and now I think this is my 100th Post too :D

Yeah I had these feelings as well. They used to be really frightening, and I would describe to a close friend that it felt like I was processing enough PTSD to kill an elephant! But now they've calmed down. Last night I wondered if I was maybe doing it wrong, but you say that you've calmed down quite a bit too? Nice :)

Yesterday, while sleeping after the Beatha and POTS I had the distinct feeling of being executed with a bullet in my head.
Was kinda convincing. Could be my imagination though.

We had small discussion about similar thing way back... ;)

I usually experience this at night and also when researching. This caused me to wonder if some of these sensations may be related to physical changes occurring as more knowledge is gained.

The last thing I'm experiencing right now is every now and again, it feels as if energy(?) is entering through the crown of my head. Any ideas?

I've had the same thing with energy at the crown. It first started with me several years ago when I first started reading Laura's books, and now I notice it during the breathing program as well. It feels like I've got like some kind of hole at the top or something, not sure how to explain it.

Also, last session I felt the same sort of thing at the bottom two chakras area, like energy was moving around there too. My guess is that yes, physical changes are related to both gaining of knowledge as well as doing the breathing program.

After I had had a pretty bad emotional experience and started looking for "answers" (few years back), I've started feeling similar things. In my case, it's not only about the crown area, but the whole head and upper back as well (occasionally even legs).
Till now I couldn't discern if this was about energy entering or exiting the physical body. And this feels different than "emotional blockages" (under the ribs, around the heart, kidney area, sides of neck...), at least for me.
Also, imo, sensing the energy flow through physical body is somehow connected with "moral bankruptcy" and awakening process. Considering periods when I didn't feel this sensation, it looked like I was asleep (again) and unaware/unconscious, and "negative" emotional experiences (they are Gurdjieff's shocks, imo) preceded every return of this feelings.

In my case there are two distinct feelings of this energy going around/residing in the body.
One is like a heavy fluid (almost like something solid) and the other is very airy one.

The airy one is nowadays associated almost always with lateral (especially head area, above the ears) and back of my body (back of the shoulders, nape, spine). When the feeling started 3.5 years ago, it first appeared in solar plexus and navel/belly area (on front central body axis).
My current hypothesis is that this feeling represents energy leaving/entering physical body. :/

The heavy fluid thing seems to relate more to the feeling you're experiencing.
It stays in the body and moves through it or just sits in one spot some time. I feel it laterally from head to my feet; mostly on my right side (in chest, under the ribs, around kidneys, in groins, calfs); in addition with the areas where I feel the airy feeling; and also on the central axis from third eye area (rarely) to rump (in front and back side as well; mostly felt in heart and solar plexus area). The lateral areas sometimes tend to connect to make an 8 movement through body, while along the central axis the energy always "goes" straight.

I remember reading here something from Bringers of the Dawn about chakras that sounded like it could be related with these feelings, but unfortunately I don't have time now to search for it. :-[
