While I was having a break from the full program, I did attempt to recite the POTS at night before falling asleep, but I had considerable difficulty in doing so. I didn't feel the rage that I experienced a few weeks ago, but I find that at night (generally speaking) I have incredible difficulty in maintaining focus. When I practice during the day, I don't seem to have this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have experienced something like this. I can say that often it appears that something is attempting to stop me reciting PotS just before I go to sleep. It's a question of persevering, of going back to the beginning until you manage a full rendition. It can be frustrating, can take time, but if you calmly persevere to go against what ever it is that is attempting to block you, you can get there.

Yes stick with it, it'll come. I find when reciting the prayer in bed at night I have to spend some time only belly breathing and focusing on that, before beginning to recite the prayer.

It does drift in and out of focus sometimes, but not always, and if you're aiming to relax and go to sleep anyway don't worry about it too much if you don't hold focus for more than a few rounds. ;)

For anyone who wants to know 'all there is to know' about breathing, I'd like to recommend this book:

Anatomy of Breathing, by Blandine Calais-Germain

I'm halfway through this book and all I can say is that it's a marvelous piece of work. The author explains all the essential things about breathing, and more, in a very understandable way, and she has drawn all the illustrations herself, which are very good and helpful. And there seems to be many good excercises in the book too. I've read many books about breathing, but this is by far the best so far. I'll try to condence the most important things she has to say in a forum post once I've finished reading it.

Product Description

My hope is that [this book] will contribute to a more enlightened practice of breathing. I also hope that you, the reader, will have a better understanding of how breathing changes spontaneously from moment to moment. My other wish is that you will discover how to consciously choose a specific breathing technique for certain purposes or circumstances. Everyone breathes, yet few of us understand how to consciously control breathing to improve our well-being and the quality of many daily activities. Anatomy of Breathing is a clear and helpful guide to both the theory and practice of breathing in its many variations. Hundreds of expert drawings along with easy-to-understand text help you explore just how breathing works. Once you re acquainted with the principal organs, structures, and forces that affect breathing, you will learn how to control them to enhance the quality and variety of breathing in your own life. Along the way, you will also correct many common misconceptions about breathing. Anatomy of Breathing is filled with helpful practice pages. Here you will learn simple exercises to prepare your body for the benefits of different types of breathing. You will then be shown, step by step, how to practice some of the most common and useful breathing techniques on your own. Anatomy of Breathing is a unique and wonderful resource for anyone who wishes to understand the science and art of breathing, and how to make their own breathing better and more life-enhancing.

About the Author

Blandine Calais-Germain lifelong involvement with dance, both as performer and teacher, eventually led to an interest in other physical disciplines, and then to more formal study of the complex and integrated movements of the body. From 1977 to 1980 the author studied physiotherapy at the French School of Orthopedics and Massage in Paris. In physiotherapy, body movements are analyzed both in terms of their neurophysiological and mechanical aspects, which allows for a better understanding of the actual mechanisms of movement. From her work with dance and physiotherapy, the author developed an innovative method for teaching the physical structures of anatomy in relation to movement. This method, the subject of her companion volumes Anatomy of Movement and Anatomy of Movement: Exercises, has been enthusiastically received in workshops that she presented for many years in France. Her two books have been translated and published throughout the world in many languages.

Sounds very interesting in my opinion.

The last EE session was really good, I did that time the breathing exercises sitting instead of lying in bed. During the prayers part I did zone out and woke up 1hr later and with a kind of timeless feeling.

When I did EE in a group session at the time of the super moon I felt an intense inner warmth during the meditation. I also zoned out during the meditation and met Laura, who instructed me on how to communicate with colinear people. While being with her and listening to her, I had a big aha-moment, something fell into place, although now I cannot reproduce what was being said.

As far as my experiences for the week are concerned. On Sunday I did a group session and recalled very little, if any, of PotS from the moment Laura started talking to the music at the end. As it was late, well past my normal bedtime, I may have dozed rather than zoning out.

On Monday I had wet eyes during BaHa, and on Thursday I was yawning in both the three stage breathing and in the BaHa sections, with partially wet eyes in the latter.

Edit: spelling
I have observed this too. some unknown Resistance to do POTS before sleep, Sleep while sitting to do POTS etc. With some serious self reminders , this can be corrected. Crying became a norm for me particularly after long work day.

I've found that doing about 6 to 8 pipe breaths with eyes closed, while bringing your "focus/awareness to the 'third eye area'" (that is slightly above the eyes) before starting the nightly POTS in bed helps quite a lot to be able to focus and go into a deep meditative state throughout the POTS. If you don't do this already, it may be worth a try.

During a recent completion of the whole program, I was laying on the floor for the meditative portion when a loud knock happened nearby. It didn't sound like something falling; it was a single loud knock. The only thing I know of that might explain it is the large wooden buffet table in the room adjusting due to atmospheric conditions or something. The sound did come from the direction of the table... I sit at the computer in the same room for long periods of time, and I have never heard a knock like that in the room.

Otherwise, nothing special to report during EE (except wet eyes and yawning), although it does seem that I'm more aware after doing it, and I'm more likely to set and accomplish my goals within the several days after doing a round of the program. As this happens more and more, my confidence is improving.

By the way, we purchased a copy of EE recently, but the disk holder/container was in poor shape. It appears the plastic had become brittle for some reason, so there was some plastic broken off around the edges, and one of the plastic clasps that hold the "leaf" disk holder inside was broken, leaving that loose to move around inside the box. I was wondering what I can do about this?

I tested it and it really helped me to not lose concentration and go into a deep meditative state. Thanks. ;)

I am currently looking for some qigong practice, to see if there is any benefit to it.
In the past I did a form of qigong as part of Shaolin Kung fu training, but I stopped this practice long ago for not understanding fully what each exercise do, and why doing each. I looked into Falun Dafa, but the founder seems kinda "strange" for me, with his declarations that premarital sex and homosexuality generate bad karma.

So I ask you guys of any system that you guys know and practice?

Hi, the third eye area is slightly above the eyes? something happend last week in that area... -I remembered reading that if there any bright lights we should try to maintain them, I was trying to do that and out of the blue and in the middle it appeared another more brilliant some sort of flash area? and I also felt it!! it was warm, It's color was more bright and creamish as it came i, it went away too ... it was quick, the warm feeling remain a little more though.

Regarding EE forum or here, which could be better to keep posting? ... I am jumping between the two.

thanks,
mabar

edit: deleted "Question" word and later added "something happend last week in that area"

Hi mabar,

Since the members of each forum have varied backgrounds and joined for different reasons, I would suggest you post in both forums. :)

Yes, the third eye is slightly above on the frown, space between the eyebrows.

By practicing concentrate in the third eye, I remember seeing a bright lights but I did not give much importance. I didn't knew it was important until now. I will watch try next time.

I agree with Vulcan59, post in both forums, especially as people in the EE forum may not be reading this forum - yet.
