Elon Musk: Tech Genius! Green Warrior! Biz King! Good Oligarch?

This is more 'geopolitics' than 'Musk buys Twitter', but I found it funny as hell!

Medvedev could have responded with a 'serious point' about Bakhmut, Russia defeating Nazis, and American support for such, but instead, through good humor, he revealed his awareness that Musk is on the backfoot in the West for 'being a Russian agent of influence'!

:rotfl:

Western internauts look up to Musk for being an 'edge-lord'. Guess that makes Medvedev an 'edge-archon'!

Meet Elon Musk, Technocratic Huckster
Corbett • 10/18/2022

"Technocratic huckster," spot on! Musk is so full of it and he never seems to deliever what he promises...but darn if he isn't good at getting startup monies. Just gonna start to listen what James has to say....I'll bet it's thorough....
PS: A little goofy, his intro...guess James was having fun....or maybe he thinks Musk a clown.....Honk!

DESCRIPTION:
Elon Musk is back in the headlines again (not that he ever really went away). He's going to save free speech on Twitter (honest)! He's going to end the war on Ukraine (that he supported with Starlink)! He's going to give Taiwan to the Chinese (and not just because of Tesla's Shanghai factory)! Yes, Elon Musk is a WEF Young Global Leader and a self-promoting charlatan who would have amounted to absolutely nothing without unrelenting support from government and his globalist pals, and he is the next white hat saviour that is being set up to mislead the masses with their next hopium fix. But as James peels back the layers of this technocratic huckster, you'll find that it's even worse than that . . .

WATCH:

Elon Musk is already talking to his staff:
Employee: Hey Elon, I was thinking we should restructure our language policies around inclusion.
Elon: Have you tried configuring them around exclusion?
Employee: No, because that would hurt our diversity.
Elon: What is the name of your department?
Employee: Diversity and Inclusion.
Elon: And how many of you are working there?
Employee: We are about 1200 hard-working people.
Elon: Guess what, you're all equally fired. Please don't harm any cookies on your way out. 😎

This was a really good watch. It dispells any myths one might still have about Musk and his edge-lord good guy saving humanity persona.

Musk has already fired a few of the major executives and is going to be laying off a significant portion of the other twitter employees.

Elon Musk made a major digital splash Thursday night by dismissing Twitter executives. Now, Bloomberg reports that he plans to take over the role of Twitter CEO, at least in the short term, and also is expected to reverse Twitter's permanent bans, according to a source.

"Musk intends to replace Parag Agrawal, who was fired along with other major executives upon completion of the takeover, a person familiar with the matter said, asking not to be identified discussing internal deliberations. The billionaire is expected to remain CEO in the interim but may eventually cede the role in the longer term, the person added," according to Bloomberg.

Free speech enthusiasts rejoiced Thursday evening as Musk kicked censorious execs Vijaya Gadde and Parag Agrawal to the curb.

"CEO Parag Agrawal, chief financial officer Ned Segal, and Vijaya Gadde, head of legal policy, trust, and safety, were all fired, according to the people. Sean Edgett , the company's general counsel, was also pushed out, one of the people said," the Washington Post reported.

The news led to speculation that previously banned prominent accounts such as Donald Trump, Carpe Donktum, The Babylon Bee, ALX, and others would soon be restored.

Taking a look at "a day in the life" video of a Twitter employee, it is no wonder why he is making big cuts 😝

I really like Corbett's analysis on a number of subjects, but he also has his ideological blind spots. For instance, he thinks it's a totally debunked notion that Putin is somehow a champion of humanity because of the vaccine policies in Russia. It's in this respect that without total adherence to libertarian ideals and notions of freedom regardless of political realities that a person can be tainted for him and lose all credibility. Which is sad considering he's so good at nuanced thinking in other areas.

So yeah, Musk is a technocrat and he's not going to save the planet. But he may be able to do some good things thanks to his apparent belief in certain Western ideals. So for now there remains the potential of thought policing online becoming slightly less draconian and intolerant which has been one of the means by which The Beast, so to speak, has maintained its ideological stranglehold on online discourse. So we'll have to wait and see how things shake out and what shake ups may come from the developments.

But I'm still hopeful. If for no other reason than the possibility of greater entertainment. Certainly haven't been disappointed in this respect so far.

Yeah Corbett takes it too far (even for this libertarian), but I have to ask. What is the political reality surrounding Russia's decision to mandate vaccines for certain people?

At least according to what he and the person he was interviewing said, it was similar to the US where it was up to local regions and cities how far they wanted to take the policies and enforcement. Meaning some places were more strict or lax than others. However, at least for Corbett, the fact that there were mandates at all was a failing on Putin's part and revealed him as being in on the grand scheme.

Also, part of the issue recently was that Russian troops are required to be vaccinated. So when Putin conscripted the 300k men for military service that meant they were compelled to be vaccinated, assuming they weren't already, or face up to 10 years in prison. Which, again considering Corbett's rather black and white view on the situation, was a big black mark against the man.

Edit: Read your question again and realized I might not have answered your question.

You were wondering more why Putin went along with the mandates at all, correct?
