George Floyd's Death, Protests and Riots across the US

It's common practice. It's a lot of work to remove the turf. With the cardboard the grass beneath can't grow through upwards and will rot, while the plants on top will have no problem to grow through with their roots if the cardboard is moist.
The ground should have been prepped by aerating it then the cardboard should have been soaked through before the dirt was layered on top, and kept moist after. I wonder how close to a water source they planted.

Since the abolition of slavery, the Americans have not really solved the problem of racial discrimination to date, it is systemic racism. Systemic racism is also a European problem. All states that used to rule over others and become rich with them, somewhere in street names, museums and palaces, retain the memory of a golden age that was bloody for other people. Racism is part of Europe's cultural identity, a deeply rooted evil. The European way to modernity was not possible without colonial exploitation. In contrast to Germany, which is still forced by the whole world to process its past every minute and make amends, this process did not take place in most countries. The refusal to process the story is also the fear of the truth. Society's deeply rooted racism and racially motivated police violence are leading to collective repression.

There is no systematic racism and repression, only individual cases, you should look more about statistics. You are in a way contradictory because in your previous posts it sounded like do not conflate past with the present when it comes to Germany and here we are saying other countries have that problem but mine is exception. Other countries/races/states are no different and better, they did/do/will do the same as history of conquest and power shows, it is a humanity problem as a whole that is complicated and understandable when all vectors are taken into account, not a race/country specific problem. Many of those middle eastern and african countries are also racist looking like that and would have done(and some did)in modernity same as europeans did if having the means and inventivness because the wheel changes because prior to modernity it was the "east" who had the edge, and west can as you said thank partially to colonialism to it s economy and social status of citizens, that enabled many rights that many other countries do not have.

According to this, people cannot be classified as inferior and higher-quality races, but they can be assigned to diverse cultures and religions. It is a kind of racism without racial thinking and racial struggle but rather a cultural struggle. In Germany, the new cultural racism manifests itself above all in a hostility towards members of Islam. This does not propagate racial struggle, but a cultural struggle. A foreign culture cannot break into a country to change the culture of that country. This immediately leads to rejection and resistance. There is a fundamental difference. Am I a master in the house and pursue a minority or other race to exploit or harm it? Or is it that another breed comes to your country that is given a special status by our legal system and that strangers are better off than the native citizen? In the latter case, the system itself provokes cultural hatred rather than the citizen himself. The issue would be justice. There was no racial hatred in Germany after the refugee crisis in 2016, the refugees were welcomed with flags and flowers to show them that they were welcome. Anger only emerged when it became apparent that there were major social injustices at the expense of the citizens. I think it was planned and wanted by the state as well.

It is natural reaction not a racism because you have two totally different cultures, it is biological for most people but also as said there is big difference culturally speaking and it has not to do only with native population but also with those migrants like said in story of Odysseus. You come to a country that gives you roof under the head, food, job, or some do not even want to work and get paid by social services, for which many of it s native population works all life to afford and that is big iff if they can afford it and they even demand more. Yesterday you walked there every morning and today it is a no go zone because you can get raped in best case or killed in worse. Not mentioning rapes, knives, terrorism, etc on daily basis in some countries.....and that segregation is also a problem of their religion and culture(and those that say it is a racist should go there and live in those parts of a city where the migrants fom Afganistan, Pakistan, Algeria, Syria came and see how it went or invite them to live in their house. I wonder how would they fare in Russia or why no one goes there?)

How can one any longer say to oneself: "this is not about us. We cannot let ourselves be manipulated in this way."

So, how do people here feel about this? Are you considering arming yourselves so you can protect your home and your family? If not, how are you thinking about such a possible turn of events?

This is pretty frightening stuff.

It is self defense so it has nothing to do with being manipulated, this is a situation where it is your life and/or life of your family and your survival in question by people who are using the situation, theory and nitty-witty talk is out of a window at that time. It is your skill and your firerarms and tactical knowledge that do the talk then and how many people lack any weapons in urban enviroment where is the worst situation because of density of people and therefore lack of resources you get the picture how will that end for most when there is no help arriving. Forming some kind of community/ neighbourhood watch(strenght is in numbers) and getting a basic weapon training would be a basic level how things are going but that was to be expected from a minimal level of just watching that kind of movies many years prior and many literature on it, and knowing the mass psyche of people in this kind of situations, or alternativly you can just invite them in while you wave rainbow flags and see how it ends saying the soul is that matters like it can not get scared from torture, rape, etc.... Just as a note when going to shooting range the guy working there said to me that in last weeks there was a surge of people coming, buying weapons and getting membership, probably as a result of Covid and economic expectations and situation in the US.

I imagine this thread must be a nightmare for the moderators because so many different issues and biases come up and they are so hard to adjudicate because doing so often directly confronts people's deeply ingrained belief systems.

This is a network for the sake of learning. As long as members are being respectful and not purposely trying to start a fire, the back and forth of the discussion between members can help adjust reading instruments where needed. Sincerity and respectfulness are the keys to success in this regard in my opinion. The intensity of really any crucible like this creates potential in seeing things about our own reading instruments that may have otherwise remained out of view. Of course we don't want to lose sight of the bigger picture. According to the C's there are different levels of awareness and they extent one to the other:

1 Body and immediate environment

2 The world

3 The cosmos

Live: Right wingers turned up in London looking for a fight with the left wingers.

The major organisers of the left cancelled their events today so the guys who turned up for the right have been busy getting drunk all day wondering who they'll fight.

They've found a small group of lefties and started attacking and throwing bottles plus fireworks at them.

The lefties have retreated behind police lines.

It looks like the left aren't interested in a physical confrontation to the ire of all the pumped up alcohol fuelled right wingers who have turned up today to defend freedom and liberty.

Live from the ground:

This Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone reminded me the session that included the "5D city on a hill".

I think that we should keep in mind the prophecy from the C's and other sources for this precise town and surrending region. Here are a fews.

From the C's

16 July 1994 - the day Comet Shoemaker-Levy pieces began impacting Jupiter:

Q: (L) What are you here for tonight?
A: Prophecy.
Q: (L) What prophecies?
A: Tornadoes Florida - several.
Q: Where else?
A: Also Texas and Alabama.
Q: (L) When?
A: Sun is in Libra.
{...}
Q: (L) What else is going to happen?
A: Seattle buried; Japan buckles; Missouri shakes; California crumbles;

4 July 98

A: We are glad you noticed this birth of the spike. (...) 27 days of record heat out of 30, oh my oh my! Suggest you awaken your internet pals, as they are too busy chasing "goblins" to notice. (...) In Florida now, where to next? How about a shattering subduction quake in Pacific Northwest of U.S.? We estimate 10.4 on the Richter scale. We have warned of Ranier. Imagine a 150 meter high tsunami in Puget Sound...

Q: (L) Now, you have mentioned this earthquake. I know that you don't usually give predictions, why have you done so now?

A: We do not give time tables. (No kidding!)

Q: (L) Anything else other than a tsunami in Puget Sound and a big subduction quake... 10.4 on the Richter scale is almost inconceivable.

A: Ranier... caldera.

Q: (L) What about the caldera?

A: Expect one. (This is what the swarms off Oregon made me think of)

From The Gulf Breeze 6

17. An earthquake in Los Angeles will register around 8.3 and will cause major property damage, but very little death.

18. An earthquake will follow in Seattle of 5.4 or higher.

19. Mt. Rainier will erupt and destroy large portions of the Seattle area between 1993 - 1995.

Reading the Cass. experiment transcripts vol. 1 lately, I realised that some more prediction that have occured since the publication.

31. Government closes borders with Canada and Mexico. U.S. air space restricted. 1 airliner shot down, 302 people lost.

46. 20 major universities are shut down.

After CJ Sapong weighed in, it’s time to stop defending Aleksandar Katai

As if you didn’t need any more proof we’re living in the strangest possible time, Republican U.S. Senator Tom Cotton talked about former LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire player Aleksandar Katai on the Senate floor yesterday.

Really.

Cotton was railing against “cancel culture” and defended Katai, claiming Katai “was fired for his wife’s tweet. Not his own. His wife’s tweet.”

First of all, it wasn’t a tweet, it was his wife’s Instagram story posts. And second of all, after what we learned from his former teammate CJ Sapong, there was likely a lot more going on with Katai than just a couple racist posts by his wife.

Sapong was a guest on “The Cooligans,” when Christian Polanco asked him what he thought of Katai being released by the Galaxy.

CJ paused, took a sip of his tea, and unloaded.

“Personally, if you all want some juice, I’ve had my own experience with Katai himself,” Sapong said. “So seeing that from his wife all but confirmed what I had already known, what I had already experienced. It feels good to talk about this.”

Sapong talked about his trade from the Philadelphia Union, and how Katai made him feel when he got to Chicago. He even noted many times he’s had teammates that are quiet and keep to themselves, but said with Katai it was something more.

“Being a minority and I’m on this new team, I’m just trying to show I’m a worthy teammate, meeting everybody, trying to talk to people when I can, and I swear Katai did not look me in the eyes for the first two months I was there,” Sapong said. “And the whole time I’m just like, ‘Damn!’ In my experience I’ve come across some players that they’re just to themselves, they’re reserved, they want to come in, train, go score some goals, get their check, call it a day. I’ve seen those players, I know how to deal with them, give them their space. But bro, when we’re in the game and I’m trying to communicate with you something so that we can collaborate better for the team, and you can’t even look at me in my face? What’s going on here?”

That’s when Sapong mentioned something a lot of Fire fans noticed last year. On a team that could have made the playoffs with a few more goals, Katai loved shooting from horrible angles. Most of us just chalked that up to Katai being selfish, or trying to force something.

CJ saw it another way.

“I went to great lengths, I remember it got so bad. I swear, this dude was not passing to me when I was in scoring positions. This man is at impossible angle, I’m making the back post run, there’s an open goal, he’s trying to shoot it upper 90 from a 30 degree angle. I’m pulling up clips with coaches: ‘Look at these runs. What can I do better?’ Because I just want to hear the reaction, I want to hear the response.”

“I’m not throwing anybody under the bus, the response wasn’t, ‘Aw, no, we don’t see it.’ It was ‘Damn, we see it, we don’t know how to approach it. Maybe we know what it is, we don’t know how to say it to you.’ I felt that energy,” he said.

After the original clip posted last night, the majority of fans seemed to side with CJ. A few, however, claimed Sapong was reading too much into Katai’s actions, and repeated the idea that Katai shouldn’t have lost his job for something his wife said.

In many cases, I’d agree with that last point, at least initially. But this wasn’t just Katai’s wife’s comments. Clearly, there was more going on. The Galaxy no doubt saw that, just as Sapong did last season.

So, if you’re like Sen. Cotton, still repeating that “wife’s tweets” talking point without choosing to learn anything more, you’re being willfully ignorant.

I’m with CJ. And I’m sorry my sons and I spent the last couple seasons cheering for Katai.

So you are racist if you criticize people who burn churches if they are back? And you are racist if you criticize looters if they are black? And you are racist if you criticize white people who attack the police if they support BLM? And you are racist if you don't assist the ball to another player if that player is black?

Since I happen to follow soccer to some degree and we have black players in our teams I can tell you this: there are a lot of black players who do not assist the ball to other white players. And guess what? Nobody accused them for being racist! Not assisting the ball in soccer is quite a common thing, regardless of race. That's just selfishness, not racism.

I fear that Trump's popularity is worsening day by day. Beyond the challenges he faces in order to bring order to the country, everything is against him.
Tell me if I'm wrong because I have a point of view from France.
Usually rather Republican and pro-Trump, NASCAR clearly and officially takes sides with BLM. (I suppose it is the same for all events, sports and others).

The only African-American cup driver Bubba Wallace proudly wears the colors of BLM on his t-shirt and his racing car, and Nascar shines his spotlight on it.
Even if there are no spectators in the stands yet, they should soon return, in limited numbers at first. And NASCAR now bans Confederate flags, which we often see displayed by many fans. (At least on races like Talladega in Alabama).
Does this mean that a reduced audience will be subjectively selected according to BLM's claim criteria?
Those who do not fall into the BLM trap obviously have no way to express themselves outside of social networks.
I don't like the turn it takes!

Then there’s also the legalities of defending yourself, and I’m not sure what they are in the US. If one does shoot an intruder/rioter fatally in self defence, can charges be brought against them? Hopefully just being armed is a deterrent in itself, but if you did have to take it further, you’d need to know what your rights are.
I hear you, however, I don't need someone to tell me what my rights are. I already know, and I have the right to defend myself (even vs. the "law" if comes to that).

In the US, professional sports are BIG BUSINESS dependent on being well represented in the MSM. So, for the most part, they will kowtow to whatever authority controls their flow of money, as will almost all US businesses.

I think that the more the radical Lefts' behaviors are perceived as threatening to moderate, middle Americans, the more Trump's reelection is assured. At this point, I see him winning in a landslide, as long as he can avoid looking like a war mongering dictator by overdoing force to control the rioters. If Trump, and the remaining conservative Mayors and Governors, can keep the rioters from spreading, and let the Leftist controled areas like Seattle self-immolate, then I think many moderate Democrats will abandon their party and reelect Trump.

Yes, and to the degree that we need to prepare for all possibilities, all this manipulation that we're seeing, and are needing to keep ahead of, is about us in the sense that its insidious agendas could easily come to our doorsteps. Even the possibility of a mandatory vaccine means one needs to think strategically.

When I first saw the remark about all of this manipulation not being about us, I was thinking more along the lines of preparedness, which is why I brought it up. But, as to not getting pulled into the madness, in that sense you could say to yourself this isn't about me, I need to keep things in perspective, etc. So, there are two different aspects here: I'm not going to let myself fall for the manipulation, but having said that, I take it seriously to the degree that I will prepare myself for its potential outcomes.

I've also thought about the gun issue often these last few months, starting with the virus and now because of the rioting. I know i could shoot someone if they where endangering my life or a loved one. I grew up around guns since my brother is a hunter and my son as well. I don't really want to buy one...but I'm considering it. However, that would require learning how to use it well and safely, going to a firing range and taking what classes where available, so its a commitment. Very good points have been raised here. I've been a little concerned about the lack of ammo.

Also the danger of renegade bullets! When I was a kid, my brother accidentally shot his rifle in the basement and the bullet ripped through my bedroom floor!

I guess a lot would depend in what situation you found yourself in that would require using one. Defending ones home may be easier then being grabbed on the street for instance. At the moment I live far from the madding crowd, I'm not fearful and I don't sense an urgency to rush out and buy one so I have time to consider it.

I'm also thinking about helping to home school my grandkids, something I never thought would happen. Look how the public school system is being dismantled as well. I've considered that may be a good thing for them but its an even bigger commitment then learning to use a gun.

We're seeing people around the country successfully protecting their stores, neighborhoods and towns when they band together. So thats good.
Several months ago the Democrats where campaigning on taking everyones guns away. That caused me to seriously think about getting one.
So much insanity these days. Maybe fast acting tranquilizing guns would be good then call in the cops if any are left.

FWIW you should be able to have ammo delivered to your door. I used ammosupplywarehouse recently for shotgun rounds.

I apologize if this has already posted; it appeared in a Reader's comment this morning on SOTT (thanks HFL) and I thought it relevant to the various discussions on slavery that have appeared in this thread.
This 20 min video is a clear, concise, accurate, look at the institution of slavery historically and a good argument why history should be respected regardless of whether we like it or not.

Sorry if this was posted before - and it definitely comes as no surprise but hey, shouldn't they make it a bit less obvious? Not hiding sponsorship of BLM from Democrats will again (as always with psychopatic plans) prove to backfire when the tides turn.

All Lives Matter!
While doing research into the Black Lives Matter organization, I went to the donate page to see where the money was going. The URL is as follows:
https://blacklivesmatter.com/contact/

What is alarming, is that once you click on the donate button on the right hand side, you are redirected to the “donation page” that has the following URL:
https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ms_blm_homepage_2019

“Act Blue” is essentially a donation site for the Democrat National Committee (DNC) and funds their campaigns, has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter. This is part of their “about us” section”:

“As a nonprofit, we’re driven by the belief that our democracy works better when more people participate in civic life and when our campaigns and nonprofits are powered by the people they serve. That’s why we’ve built a powerful online fundraising platform for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, progressive organizations, and nonprofits. Our tools make it possible for anyone to build a grassroots campaign or movement and give donors an easy and secure way to support their favorite candidates and causes.”

There is a direct Act Blue link to also donate to Joe Biden, URL:
https://secure.actblue.com/donate/biden_gsdd_a…

This is DNC corruption and manipulation at its worst. This is a clear example of them taking advantage of this divided time in America for their own political profit.
Please share this to individuals on your distribution list.
~Dr. Steven Hotze
Just to be clear, I AM NOT PROMOTING BIDEN!
TRUMP 2020

I checked the BLM site which refers to ActBlue site for donations because I really know near to nothing about all the details of the US domestic relations, corps and NGOs so I would not like to post another nonsense. As far as I can see, the quote above is correct.

Apparently the ground layers are grass, cardboard, and then the visible dirt. I'm not sure a lot will thrive with the cardboard layer.
Well, it doesn't work, blame it on white supremacists or Trump and move on to new location and occupy them while destroying some thing else for attention and justify in the name of "oppression of minorities". As long as MSM covers it, the zombie population will buy it with the livelihood which they don't have. :headbash:

Seattle is tricky business since, as Tucker Carlson pointed out, it could signal the beginning of a trend, at least in blue states, which could have serious consequences for the nation as a whole. Trump has indicated in tweets that he may intervene, which could backfire on him -- or would it? After all, everything he does is lambasted by the MSM, and so would this really be all that different? Still, it does seem to be a tricky call.

Trump's tweets thus far on CHAZ:

June 11th tweet: Radical Left Governor @JayInslee and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before. Take back your city NOW. If you don’t do it, I will. This is not a game. These ugly Anarchists must be stopped IMMEDIATELY. MOVE FAST!

June 12th tweet: Seattle Mayor says, about the anarchists takeover of her city, “it is a Summer of Love”. These Liberal Dems don’t have a clue. The terrorists burn and pillage our cities, and they think it is just wonderful, even the death. Must end this Seattle takeover now!
