Jordan Peterson: Gender Pronouns and Free Speech War

Yes, thanks for the write up. Did either of you happen to get an idea of what the male to female ratio was?

Yes, at the Dutch event: ~ 83% male and 17% female.

Yeah, JP's keynote speech at the Dutch event wasn't very long.

That's correct Joe, I went to his book presentation event last Sunday. I’m really glad I went, it was truly educational, enjoyable and at times entertaining too.

Thanks for sharing, Ant22! :) It certainly sounds more structured than the Dutch event! Good to hear you had a fruitful time.

Thank you for sharing your experiences too! I'll be looking out for yours and bjorn's article(s) on Sott!!

I think that Ant can wiselike agree that for a so called ''extreme right event'' there were no blood en soil cries, no burning torches or Nazi flags. So for those people who practised the Hitler salute all week before the mirror for this event came home rather disappointed.

Agreed bjorn! The event had a really warm and enjoyable atmosphere whilst being educational at the same time.

When JP was gone we kind of did our own thing and stayed for a few hours and after it became pretty late we left. Anyhow, it was a great evening. If you want a good sense of what JP is about, see him in person, just seeing him on youtube isn't the same. He has certain kind of energy and it really is amazing! Me and Oxajil noticed that JP was having a great time, events such as those make it clear that his struggles and his fight is worth the effort. He was looking radiant and that was great to witness. (...)

I had exactly the same impression. You described it very well IMO! I also agree that seeing him in person is a great experience, very different from watching videos. But it may be because videos are edited with the focus on the content and the message whilst in person more of his personality was shining through. His presentation style when experienced in person comes across as much more engaging and captivating, almost conversational.

Yes that's exactly the correct number from what I remember. Out of 2000 people. (It was sold out.)

Wow, that's really interesting Oxajil! The ratio of males to females was more even in London. I'd say 35% female and 65% male.

I just had a look at the video from the London event and it shows the audience right at the beginning. Judging by hairstyles there were more men than women but the difference wasn't as drastic as in the Netherlands. Since JP's supporters are mostly male it does make me wonder what the ratio of males to females among leftist liberals is.

There's obviously the 'great undecided' but in terms of those who are *actively* leftist liberals, the male female breakdown is likely something similar, at least probably more women than men. I think it has a lot to do with biology, which is why the things Peterson talks about in terms of biological substructures that regulate behavior and 'world view', are so useful.

I think JBP would be amazing to see in person, it's great to see that you guys got so much out of it. Looking forward to reading your article on SoTT about it Oxajil & bjorn :)

By the way, it appears that JBP might be heading Down Under in March. From what I can see, he looks to be presenting talks in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Tickets are about $100 in Chatswood (Sydney) on Monday 12 March.

Sounds great, if they let him in the country! Knowing our nanny state government, they'll probably deny him entry, like Dr Tenpenny etc still if he does come would be great to go!

I agree, looking forward to reading about your accounts Oxajil & Bjorn

Thanks for posting the video. Even though JP only got the last forty minutes, he sure packed a lot into it. I loved how he was able to tailor his general message on what it should mean to have pride in one's culture to that particular audience. Genius!

Looking forward to watching it, thanks herodancer. Also, thanks for the lovely write up, ant22. I also love the fact that the Brits wait in a queue, it is much more efficient and just, too!

Absolutely brilliant and highly educative Peterson's very serious analysis of the interview by Cathy Newman of UK's Channel 4 News the followed nasty Guardian's article and ongoing 'investigation'. First 30+ minutes of almost 2hs long conversation with GeenStijl:

Yep. Peterson does a clinical analysis of what happened during and after the Cathy Newman interview. It's both beautiful and terrifying.

Strongly agree. Also, for those who have the time, the entire interview is amazing as well.

Jep. I am watching it right now, too. Just wanted to share, but too late. Doesn't matter. Just wanted to thank the whole thread for introducing me to Peterson. He is such a genius. Thoughtful, very exact with words. He is a true treasure. Thank you all.
