Just noticed this article up on sott:

http://www.sott.net/article/299134-One-year-later-no-new-evidence-suggests-MH17-shot-down-by-an-Su-25km

It is a great article, but I wondered if there is a typo in the title?

Should it be:

One year later: now new evidence suggests MH17 shot down by an Su-25km

Thought so at first, but then thought maybe Joe was being cheeky, as in, all the evidence was there from the beginning!

Yeah, I was being sorta cheeky, but not everyone is as cheeky as me so I changed it. :halo:

Ah ok thanks. I wondered if it was deliberate, but thought it best to check :)

I read Joe's article this morning. Another great one.

RT's CrossTalk had an episode on MH17 and was posted at Saker's blog:

Life News has published their "fantastic news" today: they found (bought for $250,000 from the Ukrainian SBU one year ago, as they claim) a tape of pilots witnessing the MH17 crash. According to the tape, MH17 wasn't shot down, but exploded from within. Several experts interviewed by Life News support this version too. Here is the video (including the tape) and its transcript in Russian: http://lifenews.ru/news/158220.

Interesting, that today the tribunal issue will also be discussed by the UN Security Council..

Does anyone know how reliable these Life News reporters are? The only two times that I saw their reporter in the videos, in both times he behaved less than appropriate for his profession. First time it was during the first Minsk meeting, when also Poroshenko was present, and when the reporter screamed something like him killing his own troops. But ok, that's kind of understandable. But then, the same reporter during the press conference after the BRICS summit, when given the chance to ask Putin a question, asked if he is doing yoga. You should see the press conference in order to understand how out of place the question was, and also see how Putin tried to remain cordial toward the reporter. So both the incidents kind of form a not really serious impression of the agency. But maybe it is just this guy?

Yeah, I agree that sometimes they look not very professional. Actually, I've never heard about them before this Ukrainian war started one year ago, although according to Wikipedia they exist since 2009.

In general, their reports are rather interesting, they have lots of exclusive materials (including from the war zone). Their reporters were captured by Kiev forces last year and Ramzan Kadyrov helped to free them. But yeah, they sometimes look more like amateurs than a large and serious news agency.

If that's a true report, it adds credence to the Mossad tinkering with that plane and planting something.

Bingo! That's the Cs' scenario all tied up.

Yeah, the on-board bomb angle is another hit for the C's (if the story is true). By the way Russia vetoed the Security Counsel resolution for the kangaroo tribunal - and there's claims that they're going to try to get one in the UN General Assembly which needs 2/3's approval to pass (don't know if that story is verified).

Dunno about Life News, but checked a bit that Solovov guy and the whole thing seems fishy.

"His organization":

_http://fedinf.ru/

He is not listed there anymore, he was in 2009 (wayback machine finding). But they carry that 'revelation' with no comment, so I'd think they give it some credibility.

They had this much to say about him:
_https://web.archive.org/web/20091125012722/http://www.fedinf.ru/

Сергей Соколов, эксперт в области политических преступлений Федерального информационного центра «Аналитика и Безопасность» (возглавлял "АТОЛЛ", службу охраны Бориса Березовского), специалист по вопросам вмешательства в частную жизнь (незаконное прослушивание, слежка, внедрение, видеонаблюдение);

Sergei Sokolov, an expert in political crimes Federal Information Center "Research and Security" (headed "ATOLL" security service Berezovsky), an expert on invasion of privacy (illegal wiretapping, surveillance, implementation, surveillance);

About FEDInf found this:

Berezovsky a sponsor of FedInf?

Sokolov as a head of Berezovsky's bodyguards:

Recently published and other data, like testifying in favor of this version. But these data do not cancel that is already installed and it is obvious to anyone skilled in the art, said Associate Professor of St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation Mikhail Tikhomirov.

"With regard to the explosion from the inside. I had met earlier version that exploded batteries. The fact is that for several years the company" Boeing "has problems with the batteries. There were fires, including in the" Dreamliner "," 787 " caused by the imperfection of the battery. It may be talking about this. If this is a terrorist attack - that's another story. But the question is: where then took on the fuselage skin punctures from certain elements that struck the outside of the aircraft, as the pieces of skin were bent hole inside? " - Said Mikhail Tikhomirov on Radio Sputnik.

At the same time, he said, many people today would suit a version that "Boeing" was blown up from the inside.

"This may be due to the western version, and purports to simplify life for themselves and somehow removed from all responsibility. Although all the known indirect data show that the catastrophe - the result of external influence on the plane. And obviously, it's - Ukrainian problems first and foremost. And in terms of the version that it could be a missile R-60, or more precisely, "The product is 62" (that is, type "air-air"). And in terms of the version of the rocket, fired from the ground " Buka-M1. "In Russia, this complex is not in service. But the rebels did not have all of the system" - recalled Mikhail Tikhomirov.

FWIW...

This article _http://www.apn.ru/opinions/article27435.htm (in Russian) suggests that Sergey Sokolov was a director of a private security company Atoll (Атолл) which provided security to Berezovsky and was closed after Berezovsky's death. Now he is a director of the federal information centre "Analytics and Security". It's a private human rights organisation (as they claim). The article also suggests that this organisation used several times questionable data in their pseudo-struggle with corruption in Russia. The article is published back in 2012 and is titled "Does Berezovsky finance the federal information centre 'Analytics and Security'"?

So it looks like Sokolov was closely connected with Berezovsky.

This new evidence doesn't imply that any such on-board explosion was an accident. Also, this scenario, and a military jet firing at the cockpit, are not mutually exclusive.

As for 'Berezovsky connections', remember that Berezovsky was instrumental in bringing Putin to power. Everyone was 'a traitor' in 1990s Russia.

Thanks!
From my quick scanning through various Russian articles and forums, Sokolov seems nuts or disinfo agent to me, in the best case. And his 'anti-corruption' organization FedInf that morphed from 'Atol' after Berezovsky left for London seems to be itself involved in illegal activity and corruption.

As for the recording, even if it's not fake, there is no date stamp, no names, nothing that would clearly indicate that exchange involves MH17. So, IMO, what we are left with is only a loose possibility that there might be something to it.

Two interconnected new articles from RT on SOTT today:

http://www.sott.net/article/299743-MH17-A-year-without-truth-RT-documentary

http://www.sott.net/article/299746-RT-documentary-on-MH17-probe-prompts-Dutch-Safety-Board-to-ask-for-help

The Dutch agency heading the international probe into Malaysia Airlines MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine has contacted RT over the footage used in our recent documentary on the tragedy. RT's documentary discovered fragments of the plane still in Donetsk.

The RT Documentary film, titled MH17: A year without truth, showed fragments of the crashed Boeing and pieces of luggage still scattered in the area at the time of filming. The RTD crew collected the parts of the plane's exterior they spotted, bringing them to the administration of the nearby town of Petropavlovsk.

"With great interest we watched your documentary, 'MH17: A year without truth,'" Dutch Safety Board spokesperson Sara Vernooij wrote to RT. "In this film, RT shows parts of the cockpit roof which were found near Petropavlivka. We would like to gather those pieces and bring them over to the Netherlands so the Dutch Safety Board can use them for the investigation and the reconstruction."

Some haughty chutzpah ! OSIT.

This article is featuring a link to a transcript - of a 17 minute video taken right after the crash (with some excerpts below).

The MH17 Pilot’s Corpse: More on the Cover-Up
http://rinf.com/alt-news/editorials/the-mh17-pilots-corpse-more-on-the-cover-up/

On 17 July 2015, Rupert Murdoch’s Australian Courier-Mail published behind a paywall, and his The Australian republished open on their website, the complete transcript, plus video excerpts, of 17 minutes of video footage that had been taken by the independence fighters in Donbass at the wreckage site while the fires were still aflame on the fateful day, 17 July 2014; and this remarkable footage, never before made public, and published by a lifelong anti-Russian, shows the rebels’ “Commander,” trying to understand what he was seeing, and saying that there are two planes destroyed in the area, one a Malaysian airliner, and the other a Sukhoi fighter-jet, the latter from which had parachuted out five people. Someone off-camera in the background is saying, “They decided to do it this way, to look like we have brought down the plane.” In other words: these people speculated immediately that the presence of the downed fighter-jet indicated that the Ukrainian authorities were trying to pin onto the rebels the blame for shooting down the airliner. Here is that link, and the relevant passages in the transcript itself:

• Video [just an excerpt, but the transcript is complete, only excerpts from which are reproduced here:]

Cmdr: Yes, there’s 2 planes taken down. We need the second.

Background: The second one is a civilian too?

Background: The fighter jet brought down this one, and our people brought down the fighter.

Background: They decided to do it this way, to look like we have brought down the plane. …

Cmdr: Let the firefighters extinguish the flames.

(Phone ringing)

Yes Kalyian. I understood you, but we’re already at the crash site. A passenger plane was brought down. They brought down the passenger plane and we brought down the fighter. …

Cmdr: The parachute jumpers are there.

Background: But there are two planes, from my understanding.

Background: And what’s the other one? A Sukhoi?

Cmdr: A Sukhoi.

The Sukhoi brought down the plane and we brought down the Sukhoi. …

I mean … the two pilots landed on parachutes.

(Phone ringing)

Cmdr: Yes, speak. I’m here, I’m in Grabovo. Right at the place. I’m not at the bird site, I’m in the field. I didn’t get there yet.

Cmdr: Five parachutes jumped off this plane. Five people jumped off this plane. …
