Schizophrenic mexican elections

High Above Mexico City, a Politician's Promises Hit a Wall

The reason why comes down to that spot high up in the air. Think of it like a doorway that planes must pass through to get the angle, speed and wind lift they need to safely land in the geographically tricky capital city. Lopez Obrador’s plan to add two runways at a military base while keeping the existing commercial airport open would put jets dangerously close to each other as they crisscross the same in-air gateway, experts say.

“This is out of his reach because of physics and aeronautics laws,” said Bernardo Lisker, international aviation director at the Mitre Corp.’s Center for Advanced Aviation System Development, a non-profit research organization based in Virginia that has studied the alternative plan and ruled it not viable. When building an airport, “the number one focus needs to be aeronautics.”

Some other aspects of Lopez Obrador’s plan -- like splitting international flights and domestic flights among the two airports -- could work even though airlines and passengers would hate it, Lisker said. Mitre has worked with every Mexican administration since 1996 to try to find the best alternative to Mexico City’s overcrowded Benito Juarez airport.
AMLO had been proposing to cancel the new airport giving an alternative, cannot say much about it because I do lack a lot of information, but one thing is for sure, they are constructing it over the lake of Texcoco, and we know how climate change is on going, there will be more rain, more floods, more landslides, and of course more earthquakes .... and to the suburbs around that area, I suppose, since are poor near too poor and suffer from floods every year are not in consideration either, "Mexico needs to portrait itself as a modern country" never mind the insecurity ...it is not in their priorities ...

On the other hand, I went to search more about Mitre Corp.’s, it mention that is a non-profit, non-profit??? research organization ... hmmm .... what I read over here Peter Dale Scott: Launching the U.S. Terror War - The CIA, Parallel Secret Services and the Deep State -- Sott.net and here Military Intelligence Warfare: The noose that Obama had wanted to hand to President Killary to hang U.S. democracy -- Sott.net ...

... so one wonders, ... but, is not suprised that it has been working with every mexican administration since 1996 ... I had been thinking about Colosio lately (Colosio, was a presidency candidate for 1994 mexican elections, killed a la president Kennedy. Over the years, I had learned that, the changing he was proposing would be better for Mexico, for the people, that's what "they" killed him ...

AMLO seems to have good intentions, but cannot imagine him fighting mexican and US deep state interests, ... if he really wants to go to that battle or if he just sowing illusions in the people, and I cannot see any good outcome for either or ...

So I thought about sharing something I think is pretty curious and still I don't kno what to truly think about it.. Well in our job we had a convention of insurance companies, it's called Convención AMIS (AMIS stands for Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions), the event took place yesterday and today and we were part of the PR company that manages the event and so on, so several of us went to help.

But the interesting thing happened today. David Cameron attended the convention today, giving a conference.... The conference was like if it was a secret or something like that, people knew he was in MX cause he had a meeting with our president, but about the convention nothing. The security was extreme, no media allowed and just people in the business or some people even paid for the tickets.

Now, I listened to about 20 mins of his speech the opening video for his introduction was just a complete joke for me, it was all about the great things he did in the UK, then he entered and everyone was so excited it was just weird. And hearing the man talk about democracy and not letting populism win (which is one of the "motto's" of AMLO) made me think that this is just another key point to the plan everyone knows it's happening against AMLO. Maybe im just speculating a lot, but I think it was just so weird... and given the pre-elections mood MX is in, it's even more weird for me...

I dunno, but I do get a feeling something interesting is going to happen in July with our elections. A lot of people are talking about AMLO being murdered or stuff like that.. To be honest im not a complete supporter of him, not very fund of some of things he says and mostly the people behind him, but if he does get murdered or they make Ricardo Anaya (from the PAN party, which IMO is the option for the people in power, plus they call him mini Hitler) win, things might get pretty crazy around here.. Meanwhile lots of candidates for the power in other states are getting murdered also :/

I had been thinking, the term populism is used more against from its detractors/critics, had not heard from himself, though ... since Corbyn and AMLO know well each other, I can just say that pieces are moving ...like the Foro Sao Paulo -greatest hell, a movement from PAN at social media against AMLO. Funny though, PRD that, is allied with PAN in this election, is a memeber,

I had been seeing Tercer Grado a TV program from Televisa, mainstream media pro goverment, so far they had AMLO at the first day, looking for the rating!! of course! but I think there is more that I cannot pin point out yet, Tercer Grado with Meade (PRI) was hilarious, I really enjoy their dumbstruck faces, and, or but (for Meade) AMLO was at TV Azteca at the same day same hour...even though, one may think that it was a fight for rating of the two mainstream mexican media, I rather think that they knew, they did it on prupose, so, the fact that AMLO may be favored by the mexican msm give me things for thought or for be too worried ...

Yesterday at Tercer Grado was Anaya (PAN-PRD-MC)-- I had read at Proceso Magazine, Candidates without Makeover, that Anaya had been scalating in its political career full of betrayals, that's a red light... would interesting to see more traits in him to find more or about why people call him mini Hitler

Every day one encounters interesting (crazy?) things! was reading about that at INE approved the use of nicknames to be printed at the voting ballots, ... what???? :huh:https://aristeguinoticias.com/1804/...iputados-apareceran-en-boletas-con-sus-apodos

Well, I just finished watching Anaya's debate on this show. And all I can say is, the guy has a great communications team behind him, he repeats and repeats everything like brain washing people, his body language is just so robotic, his smile looks hypocrite and there's a saying about people who smile all the time, of course it's not applicable to everyone but in his case it just looks so unnatural, and his eyes like without any expression (maybe it's the glasses but I dunno),

I didn't watch Meade's debate, thought it was just a waste of time and next day I saw some news about what he said and so on. It was hilarious how he said he was launching a book next week but didn't know the name of the book.
AMLO's debate for me was good, but again, im not the biggest fan also.

After watching the first debate with all the candidates it was clear to me from the beginning they were all fighting against AMLO, we will have to see what happens in the second debate and if Anaya increases numbers in the polls (which he is actually doing right now.) I dunno the whole murder of AMLO is been talked within a lot of people, this rumor I got it from the daughter of a military doctor, which made me think it could actually be possible since we all know the military has insights about this. But again we should take it with a grain of salt.

Anaya's narrative about giving power to the military is scary for me. It's just so scary to think how all of them talk about corruption and bla bla and the are SO corrupt! The whole "Front for Mexico" between a right party and a left (Anaya's party) for me it's just like they are mocking the population.

We will have to wait and see. I'm actually pretty scared of what will happen in the next months before the elections, and if this Anaya guys wins, it will be pretty scary, OSIT.

Edit: added something

Thought this video is interesting, analysis form a psychologist/criminologist of Anaya.

Today I was also wondering about AMLO's meeting with Black Rock Capital, as I mentioned some months ago in this thread, which is also very weird. Plus Alfredo Jalife (which I also talked about him before, political analyst) has mentioned that Claudia Sheinbaum -candidate for government from the MORENA party, is a zionist..

Sometimes I just don't understand what's going on.. nor im a specialist in politics and I may be speculating lots of things. But the title of this thread explains perfectly what's going on around here.

Since September, when electoral campaigns began around the country, over 90 candidates, politicians and officials have been violently murdered

Electoral campaigns
in Mexico suffered another casualty on Friday with the murder of Jose Remedios Aguirre Sanchez, a mayoral candidate from the same coalition as presidential hopeful Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, commonly known as AMLO.

The 35-year-old candidate was shot dead at close range in the Ecological Park of the Apaseo el Alto. Two other people were reportedly injured. The perpetrators escaped in a white convertible Ford Mustang with a U.S. license plate, according to witnesses.
Aguirre was competing in the race for mayor in the municipality of Apaseo el Alto, in Guanajuato, with the Movement of National Regeneration (Morena) party.
Before entering the race for Apaseo el Alto's mayor, Aguirre had served as the director of public security in the same municipality between 2012 and 2015.
Since September when electoral campaigns began around the country, over 90 candidates, politicians and officials have been violently murdered.
Aguirre was a member of the progressive Morena party that is backing the coalition of Andrez Manuel Lopez Obrador, one of the top picks for Mexico's presidency.

Narcos seek to control elections of mayors, Congress: governor

Criminal gangs want to control municipal governments, state lawmakers
The governor of Guerrero warned yesterday that organized crime is seeking to influence the electoral process in the state in order to gain control of the next generation of mayors and members of state Congress and the regions they will represent.

Héctor Astudillo explained in a radio interview that “criminal groups don’t only try to extort money [from politicians] but also to control territory through the authorities.”
The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) governor cited the state’s notoriously-dangerous Tierra Caliente region as a prime example.

“This region suffers from this serious problem. The interference [comes from] these groups who are not satisfied with controlling the transport of drugs from the high parts [of the state] but are also interested in controlling the municipal governments and those who are going to be representatives in the state Congress,” he added.

Astudillo said he first raised the concern in a meeting with other state governors several months ago and that his prediction had turned out to be correct.

“I wasn’t wrong, I saw it coming. Incidents like the murder of [state Congress candidate] Abel Montúfar Mendoza have occurred, it’s one more [assassination] that has happened and that we have mourned . . .” he said.

Montúfar, who took leave as mayor of mayor of Coyuca de Catalán to contest the July 1 elections, was the 18th politician slain in Guerrero since the electoral process started last September, according to risk analysis firm Etellekt.

Astudillo said that Montúfar’s murder was linked to that of another former Tierra Caliente mayor, Ambrosio Soto, who was shot and killed in July 2016.
Hours after the former’s bullet-riddled body was found Tuesday, three soldiers were killed and three more were wounded in Coyuca after they were ambushed by armed men.

To combat the continuing violence and prevent criminal groups from gaining political power, Astudillo said, a joint state and federal security operation is being prepared for Tierra Caliente.

“It’s time to go in with greater authority in Tierra Caliente because unfortunately in some cases politics is mixing with crime . . . we can’t allow there to be mayors and [state Congress] representatives that are controlled by criminal groups,” he said.

The governor called for a “head-on and determined fight” against the cartels because “there will be no way for the people [of Guerrero] to get ahead if they remain under the threat of criminals.”

Just now we were discussing this, my mom and I. All the murders that have taken place of candidates, narcs involved, and so on.. And honestly guys, I just don't know what to think about what's going to happen here.

Still 50ish days left until the elections but I think this are going to get tougher before and after.. sorry if I may sound very pesimist here, but things just look crazy.

I remebered that it was Peña Nieto the one whom meet with Black Rock Capital months ago, but doubting, I went to find about AMLO and BRC and found out that they had a meeting already, it was last week, to which I should not be surprised, knowing how the poderes fácticos (bank, oligarchy, church, syndicates, media) works over here, sometimes I translate to deep state, because they influence the political system, I am reading just precisely about the oligarchy at Proceso Magazine No. 2167 of this week.

Yes, one can just speculate, wonder about what is going on, I am reading again Political Ponerology, to reinforce such information and be able to detach one self from the turmoil that is unfolding ... I was wondering the other day that it would be hell if AMLO wins and it will be hell if he does not ... society is polarized as what happend at US, it has it similarities, I think ... divide and conquer, always a PTB motto

Fwiw it appears that Russo and Vincenzo Cimmino choose to think that they could get over on the CJNG drug cartel and ended up dead wrong.

As for the cyclists anyone that thinks that Mexico is what was 20 years ago is sleep walking into trouble.

I question there lack of personal critical logistical concernment, and possible wishfully thinking.

Sorry that they met there fate by the hands of bandido's. The comments tell the tale.

And added to this, yesterday precisely one year after Javier Valdez was murdered (a journalist), another journo was murdered in the state of Tabasco. I wonder when will this war against investigative journalists finish... :(

Being a journalist, sometimes I think it was the best decision not to get involved in politics, but on the other hand it's sad and it makes me feel like desperate about how investigative journalists are treated like this, and not just here, but everywhere as we've seen..

I hope soon this whole war against journalists in MX stops :(

Borderland Beat: Update: Pre-Election Violence Kills 94 as of Mid-May
Thursday, May 17, 2018
Posted by DD Republished from GardaWorld
Pre-election violence in Mexico kills at least 94 people; further violence anticipated ahead of July 1 elections.
Political violence in Mexico has resulted in the murders of at least 94 politicians, including candidates for the upcoming July elections, and their family members between September 2017 and mid-May 2018. The victims come from a variety of political parties, with most running for local offices. Officials believe that warring cartels are behind much of the violence as they attempt to gain influence over city governments nationwide. Federal and state governments have begun increasing security, providing many candidates with bodyguards and, in some cases, bullet-proof vehicles, but the measures have so far proven largely ineffective.
At least 80 candidates have withdrawn from elections in Chihuahua state because of the high levels of pre-election violence. In early May, the leader of the Social Encounter Party (PES) in Chihuahua was killed and in a separate event, an estimated 250 gunmen descended on the community of Ignacio Zaragoza in Chihuahua killing the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) city council candidate and a campaign coordinator.

The campaign period for the upcoming general elections officially began on March 30. On July 1, up to 88 million Mexicans will head to the polls to choose their next president and to fill various federal, state, and local government positions. With 3400 posts to be filled, it will be the largest election in Mexico’s history. Four candidates are vying for the presidential office. The current favorite is Andres Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) of the leftist National Regeneration Movement (MORENA). The official campaign period will end on June 27.

Individuals in Mexico are advised to avoid all demonstrations and political rallies as a precaution, report all suspicious objects and behavior to the authorities, and keep abreast of the sociopolitical climate.

Due to extreme levels of violence linked to the presence of various armed groups, some Western governments advise against travel to various parts of the country, notably the states of Guerrero, Michoacán, and Tamaulipas, as well as the northeastern border with the US.

So now people are talking that maybe Anaya will be forced to decline his candidacy because of the "money laundering" his acused of in Spain.. What will happen now?

Meade relaunched his campaign with a new communication strategy, which IMO is just hilarious.. In his radio spots he talks about how much weight he has lost.. WHAT?

Meanwhile this week there was more murders, and even in the City because of narcs. Yesterday there was a shootout at a restaurant in the south of the city, and im not sure if it was monday.. but there was one person executed in plain sight at Viaducto (one of the principle streets in the city) and another shootout at a restaurant.

So what will happen if Anaya declines? Was that the plan all along to make Meade win then? Or is it just more nonsense in this mexican politic circus?

Another interesting thing, the second debate which will take place tomorrow will be in Tijuana, same place were Colosio was murdered.... This of course is speculation on my part but if Colosio was murdered and lots of people are talking about AMLO getting murdered? Hm...

Another set of debates I found good took place in Milenio:

I was hearing a critic -do not remember whom- but, was saying that things are so wrong in the country regarding insecurity, violence, that, those suppoused to be working at the goverment, taking things on the matter, had left to the campaing, so there is not state right now and things may be/are worsening as we have been seeing not just with the journalists.

On the other hand, latest poll from Reforma on monday stated that AMLO was winning with 50% and 3 days later it rised to 52%, I wonder if was not a backlash from what happend this week, business man/companies had warning their employees to avoid voting for AMLO, tecnically that is legal since they are not forcing people...

Businessman behind AMLO are strong as well, I think we will see more interesting things in further days, chess pieces are moving Estos son los empresarios que arropan a AMLO

curious, AMLO is defined in most media as left but, MORENA is going with PES in this election (Partido Encuentro Social) a right wing-pantecostal party ---that, in theory it should not be, since all parties should be secular, any ways, I read a couple of articles at Letras Libres about the religious force? agenda is taking place in this elections, to which I am not sure what to think yet, but it reminded me all this issues about gender theory that had been at SOTT and the forum, that had given me food for thought

The political offer for the July elections has been "righten", not in all aspects, but in which it concerns individual rights and freedoms. The two most important groups - the Social Encounter Party (PES) and the National Front for the Family, one evangelical and the other Catholic - have been able to amplify their discourse on issues such as abortion and equal marriage, and have appropriated key concepts for democracy. The candidates are willing to listen to them and some to make alliances with them. It is probable that the religious right obtains spaces of power in the next administration. The short-term logic of the elections could put the secular state at risk.

Election candidates in Puebla, Oaxaca gunned down and killed

Gunmen shot and killed two July 1 election candidates and three other people early this morning in separate incidents in Puebla and Oaxaca.

The Green Party candidate for the district of Huauchinango in the Puebla state Congress and a municipal councilor from Juan Galindo were attacked near Cacahuatlán, Zihuateutla.

Candidate Juana Iraís Maldonado was riding in a vehicle with Erika Cázares when armed civilians opened fire, killing both.

In Oaxaca, a candidate for municipal council in Juchitán, her driver and a photographer were attacked by gunmen after they left a bar in the city center.

Pamela Terán Pineda was running for relection as an Institutional Revolutionary Party candidate for council.

The news agency Quadratín reported that Terán was the daughter of Juan Terán, the presumed leader of the Juchitán Cartel, who was arrested last year.

More than 100 candidates have been assassinated since the election period began last September.

Borderland Beat: Nuevo Laredo: U.N. sees federal forces connection in wave of disappearances
Citizens have been reporting this for months:
Thursday, May 31, 2018
The U.N. human rights office has “strong indications” that Mexican federal security forces are behind a wave of disappearances in and around the city of Nuevo Laredo, a statement from the U.N. human rights chief said on Wednesday.

Mexican officials did not immediately respond to the UN allegations.

The U.N. has documented the disappearance of 21 men and two women in Nuevo Laredo in Tamaulipas State from February until May 16 this year, the statement from U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein said.

“Many of these people are reported to have been arbitrarily detained and disappeared while going about their daily lives,” the statement quoted Zeid as saying.

A local human rights organization put the number of disappearances in Nuevo Laredo at more than 40, and the U.N. human rights office received testimonies that they were allegedly perpetrated by a federal security force, often late at night or at dawn, the statement said.
The report is the latest finding by international groups highlighting alleged abuses by the government in its decade-long battle against criminal gangs.

La Jornado reporting:

According to testimonies received by the UN-DH, these disappearances were often perpetrated at night or at dawn, by members of a federal security force. People were reportedly detained by uniformed personnel while walking or driving on roads, and according to the information received, several vehicles were found on the side of the road, burned with bullet impacts
.
"It was reported that many of these people were arbitrarily detained and disappeared while carrying out their daily lives." It is particularly horrific that at least five of the victims are minors, three of them very young, just 14. These crimes, perpetrated during four months in a single municipality, that is outrageous, "said High Commissioner Zeid.

The UN High Commissioner pointed out that, in spite of the extensive information and evidence available, the Mexican authorities have made little progress in locating the disappeared persons and in investigating what has happened to them.

Borderland Beat: Peru: A ton of cocaine and photos of El Chapo and Pablo Escobar
Sunday, June 3, 2018
AP is reporting that Peruvian authorities seized a ton of cocaine in packages that were labeled with photographs of drug traffickers Joaquín Guzmán Loera, alias 'El Chapo', and Pablo Escobar Gaviria.

Héctor Loayza, chief of the anti-drug police, indicated that the drug was camouflaged in dozens of boxes containing frozen fish. Its price in the market is valued at 45 million dollars and was destined for Spain.

Loayza indicated that the twelve captured Peruvians and Colombians have no relationship with 'El Chapo' or with the late Escobar Gaviria, but thought by using their images they would demonstrate "the purity" of the narcotics they traffic.
