These days, I searched the Quran for informations about old destroyed civilizations, so I would link some of the points mentioned here with Islam.
A: Mainly the former. You see, if one desires to create a new race, what better way than to mass hybridize, then mass reincarnate. Especially when the host species is so forever ignorant, controlled, and anthropocentric. What a lovely environment for total destruction and conquest and replacement... see?
Quran 6:6 Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them
a generation of others.
Q: (L) So, knowing past lives is helpful. Knowing ancestors is helpful. Well, the ancients believed that if you remembered your ancestors, they helped you. If you didn't take care of them or you forgot about them, they could bring bad luck on you. Can it? [laughter]
"A: Something like that. You can help to heal some things and draw strength via your DNA antennae which, you must remember, is also their DNA antennae."
And the trend in Saudi Arabia is as follows:
"The destruction of sites associated with early Islam is an ongoing phenomenon that has occurred mainly in the Hejaz region of western Saudi Arabia, particularly around the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The demolition has focused on mosques, burial sites, homes and historical locations associated with the Islamic prophet Muhammad and many of the founding personalities of early Islamic history."

L) Ya know, are we gonna live to see this show end? Are we gonna see the final act? (...) Q: (L) And things won't drag out forever like they are now: this SLOOOOW, mind-obliterating insanity, it's just crazy.
This impatience seems customary because it is much mentioned in Quran:
22:47 And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count.
22:48 And for how many a city did I prolong enjoyment while it was committing wrong. Then I seized it, and to Me is the [final] destination.
29:53 And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not.
29:54 They urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers
29:55 On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do."
70:1 A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen
70:2 To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.
70:3 [It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent.
70:4 The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.
70:5 So be patient with gracious patience.
69:4 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.
69:5 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].
69:6 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind
69:7 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
69:8 Then do you see of them any remains?
40:82 Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
