This crippling anxiety has been happening to me a lot lately. Matter of fact, halfway through reading this session, it started up again. It's been very scary to deal with, you can get really carried away by your thoughts. So far I have had to talk myself through thinking I had a cortisone disorder that caused my sons diabetes( all my test results proved I'm healthy after a trip to the ER) back in October, this past Saturday I had a intense fear that my husband and best friend were having an affair, then just today after reading part of this session and I had to stop reading because I had to leave for a Dr. appt. Fear and panic washed over me and I started to think "omg, is this a sign that I need to cancel my appointment.. What if I'm going to get in an accident and die?!" I said a prayer of protection and headed to my appointment, paying extra attention just in case. Anyhow, the way I have been dealing(after fighting with it for the past three months) is acting as if.. Like What is described in Bringers of the Dawn. Acting as if everything you experience is for your highest and greatest good.
Is that an appropriate coping method for one who is doing "The Work"? I worry that acting "as if" is just another form of wishful thinking. I just didn't see a better option for dealing with the panic and anxiety.
jen1221, if you have heart palpitation problems and feeling anxious about it (that your heart will fail, etc..), it should go away when beginning the iodine protocol. GABA is excellent for dissolving the building pressure in the chest from stress. Also if you are always feel stressed out and when you _begin_ to make a serious effort that starts to consume serious mental energies (difficult mental work, dealing with situations where you have to think carefully a lot and have a lot to lose) there is a powerful remedy, to be used with care and certainly _NOT_ one capsule per day: just half each day and when you calm down, try missing a day or two of taking the supplement.
Its called Adrene Vive:
During times of acute stress, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis may become overstimulated and need help to maintain balance. Production of cortisol and other stress hormones is typical for individuals with HPA axis overload. AdreneVive is formulated to help respond to HPA axis loading, build stress resilience and maintain healthy HPA axis function

You take this capsule apart carefully and pour it into food or on your tongue, it has a nice mint/mentha smell and tastes pleasant. Don't worry if you accidentally pour the whole capsule into your mouth. Next day, balance consumption by not taking any.
Small amounts of 5-HTP helps you get a deep, healing sleep and magnesium (taurate, [bis]glycinate, malate, citrate) helps with your heart as well.
Fish oil capsules containing lots of Omega-3 fats for mood are a basic supplement for me, I don't eat fish at all.
Thank you, lillies for taking the time to share that information. I will look into those supplements. Sounds like a good thing to have around regardless.
Thanks also to Shared Joy. I actually have some GABA here. No taurine though. I had my cortisol levels checked at the ER. I see I made a mistake in my earlier post btw. I wrote Cortisol, but it got auto corrected to Cortisone. My D3 was also normal.
I just want to add that that trip to the ER was a new beginning for me. once I got the all clear that I was fine, it was the push I needed to take a closer look at other areas of my life that were causing me stress.
Even though I have been on this forum for several years now, I feel like my journey is just beginning.
