The Vegetarian Myth

Not only is it concerning that you've made these changes without actually reading the full reasons why, it could be dangerous. Please, read these books (or at least ALL of the excerpts supplied on the forum) and make the decisions based on your body and your health. We're here pointing out what has worked and is working for us, but please don't just do things because 'the forum said so'. Please take the time to read up on these things before taking action - it's your life, it's your body, it's your responsibility.

Obviously, this isn't just directed at you, SolarMother, because there have been many examples of this in other threads as well. It's just time to really be clear on this, since the many mentions of 'each body is different' and 'please read these books to understand why you're making these changes' seem to have fallen by the wayside.

This is a very important point Anart, and I have to make my "mea culpa" in the sense that I have to struggle not to cheat and try shortcuts, but to actually read, think and understand how things work and decide what to do based on solid understanding of reliable information. It takes time and effort, so the lazy body with its programs is tempted by shortcuts.

I cannot find the quote right now but this made me remember of Gurdjieff and his teachings, as he says that understanding is essential in the 4th Way Work. If I'm not mistaken, he says that our development on the 4th Way depends on our understanding of what we do. I think one of the ways of reading this is that we should not do anything that we do not understand, which, IMHO, applies here.

Anart, I understand what you are saying. I am going to ask and see if I can get 2 of the books from the library--that will help, since our finances are a little low for buying books at the moment.
fwiw, I've read many other books, so I know I am capable of making the effort, its just that I have felt overwhelmed by reading lately, and that is just online!
I am making a decision to read only the health and food books (the Big3) along with the excerpts and catch up on the related threads, of course. Might take 2-3 weeks.
Thank you

Gut Sense may be helpful.

It's available free at the site.

Add magnesium to that, too.

For those in countries or situations where obtaining "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living" is impossible, we've made a scan. Remember the deal: you buy it when and if you are able, and at the very least, you write a review for the author.

Almost finished with this book. The horrors have left me dumbfounded. Soy being on top of the list. I can not imagine the damage I have done to my body. Well yes I can. Mift is an understatement. Being that I did this to myself under the hypnotic influence of PTB with all their manipulation and lies does not make it any easier.

At this point I am working on my fanatic program. Do not want to get preachy to those around me, but there is this emergency feeling that everyone needs to know thingy going on. I was reading several pages of the soy issue while waiting for mom to finish an appointment on Friday. I wanted to jump up and tell all around me of the horrors I just read. I did not.

Soy is in practically everything. And it is a waste product! What a way for the evil aggies to get rid of tons of soy, lets make it appear healthy. Went to the vitamin shop and spent several minutes reading the ingredient labels and it was a small selection to choose from that did not have soy.

Went on line and spent a few hours researching carb levels in fruits and vegetables. _About.com has a lot of resources. Seems information for diabetics is very useful for info on glycemic indexes and carb count levels. Also did a search on the paleodiet. Loads of info to sift through. And sift through one must.

_http://nutritiondata.self.com/
This site had a lot of info on nutritional counts for various foods. Just have to type in the food and search.

Bought some digestive enzymes to help digest the new diet. Ox bile only came in a product that had loads of other stuff in it, including soy. Will have to try another store.

Thanks again for all the sharing going on here. It has been very helpful.

Yes, it is as harrowing a book as "Controversy of Zion." And oddly enough, they are related and lend support to one another.

Knowing what is coming for humanity based simply on the science exposed in this book, makes a comet bombardment look rather attractive, does it not?

Yes! Soy-lent Green comes to mind courtesy of the folks at Monsanto.

Yes it does. The alternative is a horror movie in the making. Slow death by poisonous foods and environment.

I tried to think how our world could change if people had access to correct information. And the conclusion was that it could not. There is just to many people to be able to create a world of health and well being, let alone of higher consciousness. And way to many pathologicals with calcified brains. It was depressing.

Our system in the US is dependant on illness to keep the economy going. From agriculture and industry poisoning things to big pharmacy companies creating false medicine to 'cure' those made sick by the poisons. To doctors, nurses, med techs, insurance companies, bandage makers, hospital supply companies, janitors, office people, etc... The web is so spread out that we are all tangled up. The only thing I can do is work on myself. Doing the best I can do with the tools at hand. The best tools I have is this forum, EE and Laura at el's research and guidance that allows me to research more on my own. Deepest gratitude!

Soylent Green, yes! I've been thinking that too. I had a parallel imaginary thought that soy is made from crushed human bones and sold back to us.
I often wonder and would like to get stat info on Asian countries. They have lived on soy for apparently a very long time, yes? I will take a look around.

A music video I saw once keeps coming to mind too: Telephone (Beyonce and Gaga). The whole clip is full-on but there is a scene where they pour poison on the food in a cafe to poison the cheating boyfriend. They end up poisoning all the patrons in the cafe, including a dog, then there is a group dance scene, wearing costumes in the USA flag, dancing amongst all the dead people in the cafe. I think it's quite a subversive (or not so) message, and it seemed very clear to me.

Although probably not news to anyone here, I saw this yesterday in the sunday paper:
Diabetes becomes an epidemic

More to learn, so I'll keep on a-truckin!

I've had a movement this morning on the crystal bowl without a problem :)

I have not received the book yet but have been keeping up with the diet threads. I was on the Atkins diet about 10 years ago - of course at that time was still eating dairy and some gluten. I don't think I ever got to a really low carb intake, but did manage to stay "mostly" low-carb. For the most part I ate leafy green vegetables and few starches or starchy vegetables and limited sweets to dark chocolate and red wine on weekends.

This time it is much harder! I don't remember being this exhausted! I began the process slowly, but have reduced the carbs significantly in the past couple of weeks and added fat to help and am remembering to add salt. One thing I have noticed in the past week is that the constipation issue has gone away with the addition of more fat and also upping my intake of Vitamin C. My appetite has decreased and I too have noticed that with eating a good breakfast, i am not hungry until mid-afternoon and sometimes don't really want much for dinner.

The only ongoing problem is that I am still really tired - and what worries me - is that I get out of breath very easily. Exercise is out of the question; right now am just managing to go to work and do the minimum at home. Anything else requires force of will - because that is the only way it gets done. Granted - it is really hot right now - the temps have been over 100 degrees continuously and just being outside for more than a few minutes is tiring. Also noticed I am feeling warmish a lot - which is strange because I have always gotten easily cold - now I can be in air-conditioning with no sweater at all.

Am still working on the adrenal fatigue issue - ordered some cortisone but it won't be here for another week or so. Began to take a bit of benadryl to sleep and that helped tremendously - a lot of the nervous fatigue has diminished. So..I am wondering if the out-of-breath issue just part of the body having to switch over, or something to be concerned about?
I am not overweight and used to be able to exercise - now I just feel limp! And I have to be very careful about standing up too fast or I will get faint.

That is my thought as well. The book was a real page turner for me and I thought "bring on the comets". The Earth will really benefit from a good cleansing. It seems we are way past the point of no return. :scared:

Strange that a book about the evils of vegetarianism and agriculture is so apocalyptic!

We keep peeling away more and more layers and it just breaks my heart to see how wrong humanity has gone. It COULD have been different.

I'm only about a third through the book, but I can already say it's one of the most depressing and sad reads ever. The more one looks at the writing on the wall, the clearer it becomes that if we harm the planet too much, it IS going to get rid of us. No ifs or buts about that. We don't have any more right to be here than the wasps that move into our attic and pose a danger to us, and we feel it legitimate to get rid of them before they hurt us.

I've been wondering all my life how things that were supposed to be for the good of many could go so awfully awry so many times. Now I understand and it makes me very sad. Well, I suppose we haven't got much choice than trying to work with what we have.
