Volcanoes Erupting All Over

All the ejecta must be very, very heavy because they fall back very, very quickly. And indeed, one can see the huge and numerous rock masses flying through the air, and I don't remember ever seeing an eruption like this before, even if the video is accelerated 32 times. That's trully impressive!

Edit: Clarity

Posting this here for reference on the volcanic lag affect to warmer ocean temps, part of the free weekend summary that Joe Bastardi puts on on their pay site, WeatherBELL Analytics.... go in a minute or so after the music... you can see the volcanic activity start up years before it finally starts to heat up the ocean... increasing the humidity etc.

Eruption with volcanic blocks erupts on Iwo Jima, with a height of 20 meters every few minutes. Photographed from the headquarters plane.

An eruption accompanied by volcanic blocks occurred on Iwo Jima in the Ogasawara Islands on the 30th, as confirmed by a Mainichi Shimbun newspaper plane flying over the area. According to experts, the explosion appears to be a phreatomagmatic explosion caused by contact between magma and seawater. Krakatau volcano (Sunda Strait, Indonesia): increased seismic unrest

The Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) volcano institute reported that a seismic activity at the volcano increased on 28 October.
Seismic recordings monitored internal continuous vibrations (so-called tremor) with a maximum amplitude of 76 mm, hinting movement of magma and/or exsolution of volcanic gases through the volcanic conduit. This may lead to either explosive, effusive or a combination of both eruptions. Moreover, about 50 deep and 43 shallow-located earthquakes have been detected, including 37 hybrid ones.

The paroxysmal phase of #Klyuchevskoy, Russia, intensified further and culminated in the formation of an eruptive column that reached 14 kilometers in altitude and voluminous pyroclastic flows that plunged down the steep slopes of the volcano. 🧵
Several volcanic lightning bolts were also glimpsed within the eruptive column, which are nothing more than the product of the friction generated by the collision of ash and lapilli particles within it.

A new Surtseyan eruption began Monday off the southern coast of #IwoJima, a volcanic island located 1,200 kilometers south of Tokyo, Japan. But what are Surtseyan eruptions? Here is a brief summary 🧵
These are submarine eruptions that occur when magma comes into contract with seawater on shallow seabeds and often promote the formation of new volcanic islands. The name comes from a 1963-1967 Icelandic eruption that formed Surtsey Island.
The current eruption was located about one kilometer south of Iwo-jima Island and consists of classic Suttseyan explosive activity that produces the epulsion of pyroclastic material (ash, lapilli, and even pumice) that is shot to a height of 20-30 meters.
The accumulation and consolidation of this material has already formed a new small island 10 meters in diameter. When the eruption is over, we will know whether this island will be large and solid enough to survive wave and weather erosion.
