"The Miracle"

Every drop of rain that falls in Sahara Desert says it all,
It's a miracle,
All God's creations great and small, the Golden Gate and the Taj Mahal,
That's a miracle,
Test tube babies being born, mothers, fathers dead and gone,
It's a miracle,
We're having a miracle on earth, mother nature does it all for us,
The wonders of this world go on, the hanging Gardens of Babylon,
Captain Cook and Cain and Able, Jimi Hendrix to the Tower of Babel
It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle,
The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on earth - an end to war,
It's a miracle we need - the miracle, the miracle we're all waiting for today,
If every leaf on every tree, could tell a story that would be a miracle,
If every child on every street, had clothes to wear and food to eat,
That's a miracle,
If all God's people could be free, to live in perfect harmony,
It's a miracle, we're having a miracle on earth,
Mother nature does it all for us
Open hearts and surgery, Sunday mornings with a cup of tea,
Super powers always fighting,
But Mona Lisa just keeps on smiling,

The wonders of this world go on,
It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle,
The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on earth and an end to war,
It's a miracle we need, the miracle, the miracle,
Peace on earth and end to war today,
That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends,
[repeat ...]

ps. Love your post Dakota ... yep Split style ;)

"The Man Who Sold The World"

We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago

Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World

I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed

I gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here
We must have died alone, a long long time ago

Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

Amazingly beautiful lullaby, thanks for sharing Ysus. I've never heard this before. I love lullabies very much and this one is very touching. I haven't understood a single word except for "bayu-bai", though. :-[

The description of the video says: "Celtic Folk aus Moldawien", an interesting mix.

Hi Siberia. I don’t understand the text either, so I put it into "google translate" to at least get the drift. Not much to it in verbal terms, it seems, but great at fulfilling its purpose: being a sweet lullaby :)

Idzie idzie sen wieczorem, tonie tonie świat we mgle
Słonko ziewa ponad borem bo jemu spać się chce
a w brzozowym cichym gaju wszystkie listki tez ziewają
baju baju baju baju baju baju baj

Idzie idzie sen wieczorem, tonie tonie świat we mgle
Słonko ziewa ponad borem bo jemu spać się chce
a w brzozowym cichym gaju wszystkie listki tez ziewają
baju baju baju baju baju baju baj

Go go sleep in the evening , sinking drowning the world in the fog
Honey yawns than boron because you want him to sleep
in a quiet grove of birch leaves also all yawn
baju baju baju baju baju baju baj

Go go sleep in the evening , sinking drowning the world in the fog
Honey yawns than boron because you want him to sleep
in a quiet grove of birch leaves also all yawn
baju baju baju baju baju baju baj

Thanks for the translation, Ysus!

Now with the text I can see that it's almost Russian:

wieczorem -> vecherom
brzozowym -> beryozovym
listki -> listki :D

One of my favorite Russian lullabies is this:

This is cool! It is from another planet, another life, another earth. Roy Scheider smoking on the stage, by the way! Yes, I was young and I went to see this movie with 2 friends of mine. :) Time flies!

Sweet, this Russian lullaby. Thank you, Siberia.
(The one I posted is, as far as I know, also by Russian musicians.)

I am sure there's been quite a bit of Loreena McKennitt postings before. I just thought this is so befitting now.

Thanks Keit.
I like them more than the original!

I forgot how much I liked smooth Jazz.
We used to have an FM radio station here that played it, but it has been changed to a sports station.
