What's the weather where you are?

A thunderstorm slashed through the Ozarks last night. I stood on our front porch in utter amazement to experience the ongoing lightning and non-stop thunder. I had never heard that before. On and on it rumbled. The scene was surreal and gave me the creeps. Weather events are increasingly anomalous and unusual. Farmers and gardeners around here have generally planted according the "Old Farmer's Almanac". In recent years the Almanac has only been useful for starting fires. It will become increasingly important to be sensitive to our immediate environment because we will no longer be able to depend on the old 'normal'.

How much of our weather is human caused is open to debate. It is true that past circumstance is no guarantee of future result. The probabilistic nature of the future is quite apparent.

It has been warmer over the last few days here in the US Pacific Northwest. Saturday it was a sunny 22C (72F) with partly cloudy skies, and today is predicted to be even a bit warmer. Spring is here.

This region seldom gets hit with arctic cold, and when it does the weather systems generally don't last very long but instead tend to move east, mitigated and driven by the warm Japanese current. There is a downside to that Japanese current, however, since the Fukushima nuclear disaster: it is radioactive.

Im from mexico city and the weather here is little crazy, one day is sunny the other day is rainy and so

Ohh yeah ! i almost forgot, the wind has increse in the city :3

We've had yo-yo weather too here in Northern Alberta, Canada. It was unusually cold around Xmas time (one day we were the 2nd coldest city in the world and I heard on the radio that it was the coldest Xmas day in 100 years). Then, during January and February where we usually get the worst of winter, it was mild. About 10 days ago we had 5 days of snowing non-stop and now is all good and sunny in the +5 C degrees, on Monday it will be +10! Next week more snow is forecasted and the temperatures drop below -10 again. However, forecasts haven't been very accurate lately, so we'll see.

Here in Barcelona, at least for a change, beatiful sunshine and nice weather. Today spent the day at the beach with my family, still too cold for swimming but after a windy and rainy week, this weekend has been delicious.

Here in South central Wisconsin (upper midwest USA), our average March temperatures have been 5-10degrees below average all month long. Wait, we did have one day, 40 degrees, which was the average normal temp for mid-March. Had a couple of days with 5-10 degrees over the average this past weekend. woo-hoo.! However, April has begun close to average and the rest of this week is forecast to be below average.

Considering the crazy record breaking high temps last March, (look back through this thread) this year's Spring is off to a slow start. Doesn't seem to deter the birds and animals from carrying on as usual. Just hope they can find enough food to get them by while everything continues to thaw.

Just recalled what my step-mother was told by the Native Americans at the casino in Wisconsin Dells. It was around the end of February, when they said something to her about 12 more snows before Spring finally begins. Thought "no way"; well we've had at least six snows here, and they've had about 10. (90 miles north-west)

Also, it's weird how all these major snow storms have slid past us to the south... quite uncharacteristic.

Wonder where they got the "inside scoop"

After a few days (in Buenos Aires) of autumn-winter-like weather in late summer (mid to late march) with lower temperatures than the average for that time of the year, we are having a couple of summer-like days in this early autumn; wet and warm, low preasure. Clouds seem to be gathering, we may be heading for a storm.

Yo-yo weather in Montréal (Québec) as well.

But lately it's been warm. Most of the ground snow is gone and we've had rain yesterday.

Today is a windy day and clouds are moving fast. We've had a bit of rain/snow and now the sun is shining more or less.

Temperature is 5°C and it should range from -2°C (tomorrow) and go up to 8°C on Friday.

I remember that last year during this same period, we've had a 20°C+ week which was really bad for the maple syrup producers. Seems like things are going well for them this year though. I might go to the sugar shack with some friends this week (but no maple syrup for me).

Here in Southern BC we have been in a warming trend. Snow still fills the mountains yet the valley's have meted and today temperatures were actually in the mid twenties (c). Being April 1st, it was no joke, weather like today does not usually happen until Late May/June/July - even the mosquitoes were out and about.

Rain, rain and more rain here in Midi-Pyrenees. The ground is saturated. Don't know what is going to happen when the snow pack in the Pyrenees melts.

I was just helping my son on a "Flood Project" for Geology. I've learned a little bit about flooding and how to calculate probability of floods. So much information, so little time!

Does France have data for discharge rate of water for their rivers? Like the US does at this site? _http://waterwatch.usgs.gov/new/index.php?id=ww If they do, it would be a good way to keep track of just how high the "creeks are rising" and at what rate. I was surprised at just how fast a river can fill up. :boat:

Here in Croatia weather changes constantly on a day basis from snowing in the morning, melted snow within six hours by sun that is very fast hidden behind dense clouds, later accompanied with heavy rain and intense wind blowing, which is pretty much unpleasant.
I can hardly make myself to go out for a walk or something.
The temperature varies between - 4C up to 16C.
I am truly looking forward to arrival of real spring, maybe last one, as it's obvious what's approaching.

In Denmark the wether is pretty sunny right now and have been for a longer period. But the temperature is quite low and snow is still a part of the landscape. It has been very cold and the more usually warmer wether at this time seems to be on hold. Temperature is expected between −2 during nights and max +10C during day the next 15 days ahead, so.....

The Sun is shining here in up-state NY this morning. Still pretty chilly at 28 degrees F. We had a strange mix of weather yesterday. Sun came out in AM, rain and wind @noon, Wind and some Sun in the PM, cloudy evening.
