And so goes on dismissing valid concerns around this novel tech (he considers it not new, but that development started in the 40's), saying they come from "AI doomers." But what I think he's doing is just opposing any and all regulation and laws (and discussion even?) that would twart his investments and future profits. Crazy times!

1. ai seems to be a means to educate ALL children in the same way.
2.. childrens opinions would be rectified to fit the mainstream social construct.
3. ai could interpose itself between the childs search for information and restrict his access to only socially agreed mainstream concepts.
4. a child educated by ai would be of zero value, as it would have been conditioned by the socially imposed ai conditioning.
5. an ai educated child would not be an independent human, but a conditioned cog in the then existing production world. this is exactly what happened in 1984 novel or brave new wolrd, or farenheit 451.
6. the question then becomes what would be the purpose of humanity: a slave species, to whom? or an autonomous evolving species?.

It's a decent and good humoured analysis of a panel talk looking into the challenges facing policy makers, think tanks, and the general technocratic elite by advances in AI technology. I've been getting deeper into this subject only recently, it's become too big a subject to ignore. I've read some reports on the implications for the future employment base and the prognosis was devastating. Of course then the report was all about creating UBI, just a dole-like wage handed out to the hapless masses to keep us ticking over. In this vid, Parvini provides a dry commentary on the panel's talking points. the first 5 mins or so is just preamble but then it gets interesting.

Tony Blair is on the panel in this talk, and he sees this as being a new industrial revolution which will completely transform how we live our lives. How objectively this AI will be created and regulated is clearly the issue they want to be focusing on. The elimination of human error/biases may lead to a new variation of the same in the hands of AI. I've listened to both evangelists and the doomsayers and I can only reflect on the C's prediction that our computers would one day overpower us vis a vis the crystals of Atlantis. Hubris to Nemesis, pride to a fall, rinse and repeat. The coming Beast System, belong or starve! We knew it was coming, we were forewarned. The general takeaway from this panel was of a metallic, grey, technocratic monolith of doom, pessimism is the only feeling I got from this, but I'm glad I checked it just to hear what they had to say.

Meh, s'all cool. There's probably not much on the vid that hasn't been discussed on here anyway, but I appreciate the cynic's eye view provided by the commentator. He's an academic, not a conspiracy-minded sort, but he sees the dark lord Blair perfectly well.

I've watched a few vids now on this subject and to be honest I don't know what to think. Some people I've talked to think this is just gonna happen no matter what so we might as well get on board, just classic British diffidence in action. Others are more cynical, to the point that they are doom-mongers. I just thought I'd archive the vid on here because whatever Blair turns up for will be on the global agenda.
