So, we got an explanation what this mass testing means. It also explains what happened in Wuhan.

So until now, only people with severe symptoms were tested, because there were not enough test kits. But now that we got more test kits from China, they are going to start testing everybody who has any symptoms. But that's not all. They will test the family members of the infected person and also everybody who was in contact with that person. Also, everybody who came from abroad and their family will be tested. And also everybody whom they were in contact if they violated the mandatory self-isolation. They will probably use cell phone location data for that purpose. South Korea first started using that and that is why they had the highest number of tests per number of people. Russia also announced that they will do that. It's intrusive, but SK used that to avoid curfew. Russia will probably try to avoid it as well.

What is also interesting is the self-isolation part. People who are positive but with mild symptoms will no longer be sent to home to self-isolate, but will also have to spend time in hospital, or some kind of temporary hospital. That is why Chinese had to build new temporary hospitals so fast. Because everybody who was positive had to be isolated. But that's not all. Not only the people who were positive were isolated but also their entire family who lives with them!

Now I understand how can this situation collapse the health care of the country. It's not the virus that is doing the collapsing, but the approach for it's containment.

For now, we are not going to do a full Wuhan style in my country because we don't have enough room for all those people. So families will not be taken into isolation, but they will try to test as much people as possible, and everybody who is positive will be taken away.

And it's interesting to see that even these measures are not enough for some people. They want more!

I hope that Gaby will give us some more info about what is going on in Spain because now they are scaring people by saying that "Spanish scenario" will be even worse than Italian. Take care Gaby.

Personally, I have never felt such a massive disconnect between myself and the rest of the world. It feels as if I just landed on another planet, shaking my head in disbelief about the strange ways of these people. It's astonishing, really. But I'm sure there are many others out there who feel the same, if only somewhat instinctively. I hope they can make the journey towards disillusionment and deprogramming as long as there is still time; a whole new world could open up for them and for everyone. This really seems like a massive reality split.

I left the book some years ago incapable to understand the concepts even if I was reading articles by Laura or the Wave and articles about the subject at Sott.net. Now suddenly I understand almost everything even if the style of the author is not easy. He was a very intelligent man, it seems to me also very gentle, a beautiful soul.

This is not a "ban", doctors will used it for severe case and it's perfectly all right for me. If we know to cure severe cases, there is no need for a vaccine and no need to stay confined. Be accurate, no need to add disinformation.

Wow this thread has moved! What a difference a week makes!

The “mouth foamers”, are out in force! Here in Cancun where I am a teacher at a private English school, they decided on the request of the parents to do distance learning!
Here only the privileged can quarantine!

In CANCUN! ... WITH 35-degree weather... With 80 % humidity!!!

My guess is after a few weeks the parents will be like "Virus or no virus, you are going back to school!". Families do tend to get on each others nerves after all! this will get very interesting!

Well at least I'm having a lot of fun poking holes at the whole quarantine thing here!

I've been thinking about this recently. Without trying to make a too simplistic analysis, beyond the small particularities of each case, I have noticed two different profiles of individuals within the group of those who approve draconian measures:

1- Those who are mostly scared, who believe without questioning what their governments and the media say and who basically believe that they or their loved ones may die tomorrow, but who at the same time seek to adapt with some dignity to the new rules and are mostly concerned with taking care of their families by following all the rules.

2- Those who, besides being afraid and believing everything they hear, feel an imperative need to play an active role, to take the lead and be part of the police and control apparatus that the States are constructing. They are very active in neighbourhood groups making furious calls for EVERYONE to respect the rules, insulting (and encouraging others to do so) anyone who threatens isolation or questions it even minimally. Many of these also spend hours monitoring any movement in their neighborhoods and reporting anything "suspicious" to the authorities.

I think a good part of group 1 has the potential to "make the journey towards disillusionment and deprogramming". On the other hand, those in group 2 seem more likely to polarize towards the opposite end and be willing to defend their "small totalitarian world" along with the "big one".

For this reason I think it is important to know how to distinguish between individuals who belong to one group or another; with the former we can be a little more open by making them question the wisdom of everything that is happening, not seeking to confront but to open a channel of questions that will eventually lead them to rethink everything they believe when the time is right. With the second group, the best I can think of is to reinforce our strategic enclosure, not to seek any kind of direct confrontation and to go as far as possible unnoticed by them... They are now in a better position than we are, so a strategic withdrawal might be the best option at this time.

I had a close encounter with two people from the 2 type yesterday on FB, with a variant in their active role, to follow the rules of being stay at home or else, "else" being that I avoid see or stay in contact with them or their parents or any old people we know each other unless I have a negative outcome test from coronavirus and, of course they expected me to be in at home soon.
I took matters on hand afterwards on FB, no following and not sharing them.

There are olso people in whatsup groups or individuals that keep sending me corona idiots like messages, I had silenced and do not answer back of any related coronavirus messages.

Lesson learnt, I should had done earlier, though.

There is no mandatory quarantine here yet although, the country had enter to phase 2 this morning.
