A very strong magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred in the Bismarck Sea 118 km (73 mi) from Papua New Guine. According to USGS the earthquake was felt by over 290,000 people across P.N.G. USGS also issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses.

Later, a seismic cluster began in Vanuatu. Two M5.8, one magnitude 5.1 and several M4+ earthquakes have occurred so far. The following map shows the seismic activity in the region in the first weeks of September. Three M6+ earthquakes have occurred: Tonga with M6.0 and two in Papua New Guinea with M6.2 and M6.3.

Magnitude 3.4 aftershock rocks Los Angeles area
A magnitude 3.4 aftershock was felt throughout the Los Angeles area on Friday morning, less than 24 hours after a 4.7 rocked much of Southern California.According to the United States Geological Survey, the aftershock was reported at 4:56 a.m. about 3.7 miles north of Malibu, about one-half of a mile south of the epicenter for Thursday’s quake. The aftershock had a depth of about 6.5 miles.

Friday morning’s aftershock was one of many, but easily the strongest yet. The USGS Impact Map shows that it was felt throughout the Los Angeles area and extended as far as Santa Barbara and Orange counties.

As seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones pointed out on Thursday, the high rate of earthquakes felt in Southern California in recent weeks is more likely to be a random occurrence than a pattern.

“Yes we are feeling (more quakes this year) but it’s not yet statistically significant,” Jones said in a news conference Thursday. “Seismologists look for patterns — everybody looks for patterns — that’s why we have myths of earthquake weather and animals and all of these things are us trying to form a pattern of what is inherently a random distribution.”

In noticing tight, concentrated groupings of earthquakes in Texas (and what appears to be Oklahoma territory), these are man-made earthquakes due to a process called Fracking. These types of earthquakes can occur in any area of the world (with or without traditional faultline or seismic activity) in which there are oil deposits and this extraction technique is used. This technique is relatively new in the petroleum industry and has been tested in less populated areas such as those indicated on the map. There has been a great increase in seismic activity radiating outward from those regions due to the concentration of Fracking activity: Earthquakes in Texas doubled in 2021. These earthquakes can be felt as far west as El Paso, Texas, hundreds of miles from the fracking locations.

Ironically this is mentioned in emerging U.S. political news: What is fracking? Inside the Texas oil extraction method Kamala Harris no longer wants to ban.

There are also smaller areas on the map above in Pennsylvania as has come up in the recent a U.S. presidential debate: Fact-checking the Harris-Trump presidential debate on fracking. What is clear from this brief video clip, is that neither faction of the U.S. political machine is concerned about consequences to the population in terms of health and safety, as long as the profit from this type of "private industry" can continue unimpeded. This may potentially accelerate earth changes in conjunction with naturally occurring phenomena in unforeseen ways. I will make an appeal to the international members of this Cassiopaea Forum, to research on the possible use of this kind of land and natural resource "management technique" in your regions on Earth. There may be surprising and useful knowledge to emerge!

I was shaken on my sofa last night at 8:47 p.M. by the earthquake in the south-east of France. Lasted about 5 seconds, the beginning was strong, it was impressive.

The earthquake occurred off the coast of France at a shallow depth, it is not unusual for the inhabitants around the epicenter to have felt the shock. The western center of the Mediterranean Sea has recorded a lot of M4+ seismic activity mainly to the west. SSGEOS detected on September 8th an atmospheric anomaly that indicated as potential zones the south of Italy and regions of Eastern Europe, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia.

The product of a session in other zone of France?

If it's the case remember it.

In my opinion this is not the case. France is a seismically active region although most of its events are not felt by people because they are of magnitudes below 2.

According to Volcanodiscovery data in 2024, France has had 8,083 quakes of magnitudes up to 4.4:

● 5 quakes above magnitude 4
● 31 quakes between magnitude 3 and 4
● 546 quakes between magnitude 2 and 3
7,501 quakes below magnitude 2 that people normally don't feel.

According to the Swiss Seismological Service (SED), the M4.4 earthquake occurred on the border between Switzerland and France:
M 4.4 - 2 km NNW of Unteriberg, Switzerland
2024-06-04 00:34:32 (UTC)47.085°N 8.796°E5.0 km depth

The strongest earthquake recorded in France in the last year had a magnitude of 4.8 and occurred on June 16, 2023.

The last one I felt strongly was around twenty years ago, I was also at home, if you are outside the effect must be less for moderate earthquakes, it was more like a noiseless oscillation. Saturday evening there was a bang with a shock and a few oscillations.
