Éiriú-Eolas - Breathing Program

I don't know if any one has tried this but for the last two nights I have played the meditation part of E.E. so that it repeats continuously while I sleep and I have gotten up during 1st night at 6:25 am to make my cat something to eat, and I noticed though it was still playing the machine was working, though I could not hear it and it would have been very easy to hear it even in the kitchen and I also hear no street noise no cars going by, nothing; there was a defused gold hue to every room also when I glanced up out the windows I could see my plants and crystals on the sill yet nothing beyond save for a pitch blackness. Again on the 2nd night when I got up to go potty. Is this what is being talked about as "zoning" by others in here ??

I was so so relaxed after doing EE yesterday and so thankful to have that time to myself where I could do EE without having to worry about anything else.

I also realized that some of the blocks I have had to doing it are really just in my mind. Even if I do not have time to do the entire program all at once I can EASILY find the time do at least the 3-stage breathing every day. And the meditation as I go to bed at night. The round breathing I should be able to find time at least a few times a week.

I was able to deal with my 2-year old so much more calmly, in a way I could feel good about instead of my knee-jerk upset reactions to a lot of perfectly innocent things that happens when you let stress build up too much. So yes, I definitely plan to make time for this because I am a much better parent when I am able to stop and THINK instead of just react!

I did Éiriú-Eolas for the 2nd time 2 days ago. I am sick, but when I was done, I felt great for an hour or two, like I wasn't sick.

Great news. Thanks. I'm going to try it tonight. I'll report back.

:D

Zoning is a nickname for a momentary lapse of normal awareness which many of us experience during EE, particularly during the round breathing or POTS sections.

Feeling neither like sleeping nor fainting, we speculate that while in the zone, another aspect of awareness may be at work which isn’t accessible to normal memory.

Jerry, thanks for the reply back!
now that i fully understand what it means "zoning" , which it seems that I have on other occasions though not when Ive been playing the meditation through the night, this seems to be something else perhaps related or entirely different I am not sure. And it seems that no one has yet to try doing what Ive been doing ... I just thought that why not try it out to see if the effects are accumulative and beneficial in some way. I am not feeling scared or really worried just curious about what I was/am experiencing.
Thank you again I deeply appreciate it. ;)

:D

I did Éiriú-Eolas for the 3rd time, and had the same effect of feeling like I was not sick for a couple hours.

Before EE came out, whenever I felt nauseous and like I was going to throw up, I discovered that pipe breaths would help quite a lot. So I wonder just what is happening here.

I am continuing to do pipe breathing before I go to bed (I had previously done it earlier in the day), and does indeed appear to be improving my breathing during the night while I sleep.

I have also done Beatha on a couple of nights this week, just because I haven't been doing it frequently and I don't experience much of anything while I am doing it (unlike some of you here), and I wanted to see what would happen. It puts me to sleep, as I expected, but it also seems to help relieve allergy symptoms.

I was tired last night and I conked out halfway through Beatha and didn't come to again until the end of POTS, and that's the trouble with doing all this breathing at night. If it somehow helps with breathing during sleep, however, it makes sense to do it even if I sleep through part of it. I have long had a major problem with obstructed breathing while asleep, especially during the spring allergy season, and this seems like it could be quite a breakthrough. (The reason, by the way, for these breathing problems is discussed in the book Deep Nutrition. Basically, my head is a bit warped and has been since birth, causing breathing, dental, and vision problems.)

Another note about Beatha: I have all along had trouble with it lowering my body temperature (which tends to be low to begin with) so that I become chilled (it's distracting), and recently I have noticed that, along with making sure the room air isn't too cold, if I just reduce my breathing a bit then it isn't a problem. I have also noticed that warrior's breath has a similar effect, and if I can avoid becoming chilled during that then Beatha goes much better. It seems to be a matter simply of limiting the amount of air inhaled as necessary (it varies from day to day) to avoid chills.

After many time I began to do EE -Baha part- the last Thursday during the exercise I yawn a lot, so I tried to concentrate in the respiration finished and felt good, today I wake up crying , very emotionally, think my suppressed emotions  :headbash: are leaving !!!! I´ll continue with the steps today.

That's good to know it means that EE is working :)

Hey everyone, just a teeny update with a quick question.

I've started going the three-stage breathing after a long break of only meditation before bed. I'm getting more or less the same effects as last time: fatigue and a feeling of frustration and edginess. I feel like punching pillows like I used to do but just don't have the energy. I hope this doesn't mean I'm not getting the benefits of release, or maybe even some kind of ill effect because I don't release the feelings. This will probably come with time.

I was also curious as to how important is it focus on Laura's count during the three-stage breathing, because my mind tends to wander.

Thanks guys. :D

Hi Explorer,

If your mind wanders, that's a good reason to focus on the counts and make it stay there. One of the benefits of the program is to build concentration and Will. If 3-stage breathing is bringing up emotions that interfere with your rest, it's perfectly ok to do it at another time and just do the meditation before you go to bed.

You're still getting some healing even with this. Still, feel free to do each part of the program at whatever time of day you feel it will do you the most good. That's one of the big pluses about it! :)

I understand it in terms of awareness. You pay attention and become aware of your body, mind and emotions so that you can separate them from yourself and not be steered by them. You identify your sensations, see them objectively and respond to them consciously rather than responding automatically and then trying to steer them in the right direction.
