My reading of the situation is that the guy is a bit of a spook running a sort of informal psyop. The way I view politics, you could say that faction A in the deep state that wants to dissolve the US and the rest of the world into an opaque, bureaucratic, totalitarian superstate. This is the faction that infuses the "left." Faction B wants to make a more traditional empire, with the US the center of a vast array of vassal states. It seeks a return to the Pax Americana carrot and stick system of the 50s and 60s, however they are aware that China and Russia will have to be accommodated to some degree. Currently Faction B stands behind the "right." In order for Faction B to succeed, they have to "Make America Great Again," and a lot of Trump's ideas are aligned with their goals, up until a certain point, where he ceases to be useful. I also see a Faction C, which consists mainly of the secret government/UFO guys, which is only interested in maintaining the flow of resources to their sector of the military industrial complex so that the farm can continue to function. Faction C knows it is wholly irrelevant which human sits upon the throne, but are sensitive to any instabilities that threaten the stability of the Earth project and the interface with 4D STS. Therefore, they play both sides against each other to keep any one from getting too powerful or unruly and threatening their position. There are probably a multitude of subfactions, but these are the three main groups to be concerned with, in my opinion.
Q works for Faction B, and the infighting has gotten rather close to his desk in the deep state bureaucracy. Maybe he's having it out with his boss, who belongs to Faction A, or maybe he was forced into retirement. Faction B is currently weaker than Faction A, but is experiencing a resurgence due to the quasi-awakening of the conservative voter base. Therefore, there will be many people like Q who will be exposing the dirt on Faction A while managing to avoid the corrupt heart of the matter. This empowers Faction B at the expense of Faction A. This outcome has been deemed acceptable and necessary by Faction C. Faction C intends to use Faction B as a release valve for the general body politic. It could be argued that Faction B is a little more honest and out in the open than Faction A, but none of these people are what you would consider to be nice guys. They're all very grey actors, some of them a rather dark shade of grey. I'm also of the opinion that Julian Assange is an asset of Faction B. I'm sure there are a handful of "white hats" out there, a Faction D if you will, but they are so few and far between that they're mostly a myth perpetuated by Faction B. I think the system for agent and leadership selection in the deep state has been fine tuned over the years to select for psychopathy, and you don't stand much of a chance unless you are a primary or secondary psychopath, or a 4D STS candidate. Anyone who doesn't fall into that milieu is having to do an awful lot of pretending, occasionally having to betray their principles, and needs a large degree of skill and luck just to make it through each day. It would be extremely difficult for any decent person to survive in that crucible year in and year out. The only way Faction D can become viable, is if Faction C experiences some kind of internal collapse.
I think this is the situation Trump walked into. He had some ideas which would upset all three factions. Faction A attacked him with Faction C waiting quietly in the shadows. Faction C made him feel powerless through indirect means. Due to Trump's values, Faction B saw an opportunity and offered him a way out of a tough situation. The price was that Trump would be essentially beholden to them, and is now powerless against Faction C.
It'll be interesting to see how far out in left field I am with all of this.
