Agreed. That might be a really good rule of thumb.

I hear ya hon...I've never paid much attention to what people tell me I should and should not eat either, ESPECIALLY the so called "experts"

Choosing my food always seemed kinda simple to me. If something makes me fart, I shouldn't eat it...if something makes me fart REALLY loud, I REALLY shouldn't eat it.

I read this to Hubby and he laughed. :D He's been known to clear rooms of all occupants after a Taco Bell lunch. He also doesn't believe it matters what he eats, he'll always fart like a howitzer. :rolleyes: Let's hope the Vegetarian Myth arrives soon!

That's just not true...at least not in my experience. The body's audible alarms only go off if you're doing something wrong. Farts are kinda like your car backfiring, a clear sign that something's not right in your fuel system, octane's too low, mix is too rich, injectors are fouled, timing is off...something. To me, the body is just another machine, and like all machines, if it starts to make strange noises, smell funny, or leak...something's not running right.

It's a really good book! After a lifetime of riding the ego train, this woman is finally realizing humans are a part of nature, not the master of it ...made me sniffle for her. Makes me angry to read the effects of the PTB programming too....this woman was crippled for life by propaganda.

Most young children instinctively don't want to eat vegetables, it's against their NATURE.... they have to be FORCED to eat them. The childhood resistance to eating vegetation is legend, and nobody bothers to ask "why?" Other baby animals automatically select the food best suited for their species. You don't see a calve trying to eat a squirrel or a wolf cub pigging out in a wheat field?

Maybe our bodies' audible alarms cannot warn us of every malfunction in our digestive system, but they sure warn us that something isn't right. BTW, in my experience, meat and fats = no gas. However, I have never been a vegetarian to know whether eating plants only gives me gas or not.

I've been thinking about that lately. I remember that I loved butter (fat) and meat was just the best you could offer me to eat. That is, before my system got all out of whack with loads of grains, junk food, sugar and so on.

I also remember how I LOVED organ meat. Before the Mad Cow disease my mum used to do organ meat (heart, liver, brain, kidneys, tongue, you name it) at least once a week and it was my absolute favorite. It is also the most nutritious, although it is increasingly seen with disgust.
In the most typical cafes/bistros back home, a typical appetizer/tapas would be gizzards, liver, pork skins, pork ear, paw. It is harder and harder to find them, as sandwiches, muffins, croissants are the main offer, organ meat is starting to be a icky thing of the past that only grandmother does. With a bit of luck you can still find them in countryside cafes/bistros though.
 
Speaking of the F word ;), I am almost always bloated when I eat. I eat beef and chicken with some veggies and a few tablespoons of tallow. I'm taking enzymes, ox bile, and sometimes HCL and lemon. Maybe I should cut out all the veggies?

You might want to check out the Sluggish Liver thread? I know mine still throws fits, and I've been taking enzymes etc for a long while now. ;)

I started reading some of the Vegetarian Myth on the amazon feature 'look inside this book' last night. I'm very interested in the resource section, and looking forward to the health information she reluctantly discusses. I don't know if I'll ever fully recover from the brief stint of vegetarianism I embarked on either, but I'm sure gonna have a go at it. :cool2:

Recently, I was talking to a friend regarding the diet and I mentioned about my meat diet. he was surprised to know that I am changed to meat when some of his friends changed to pure vegetarians ( probably, they are catching the legacy vegatariansm fever late ).

I'm having a similar problem 3D Student, I have recently reported it on the Concerns with Health Protocol thread starting with this post. In my case I have been constantly bloated, it gets worse after meals and in the evening. I have been diagnosed with IBS though.
If you don't mind me comparing symptoms with you, since when have you been becoming bloated?

Well, this week seems to be more pronounced, but a few months I guess. I've been eating some buckwheat shortbread this week. And today wasn't really that bad. I think it could be too much fat intake maybe, but I don't get nauseous.

I'm still taking a probiotic, which I found out on another thread is not necessary on this diet. I've always thought that gas was a normal part of digestion.
 
I'm part way through the book and it is very good! I was stuck by close parallels in the analogy of agriculture and debt. At first, they are both sweet. Grains (and probably others) for the opioids and their effects on the pleasure centers of the brain and debt for it's "high" in lieu of productive output. Once started down either path, the only solution "seen" is more of the same. More debt to consume the debt, and more Ag (read Monsanto) to consume the Ag. The closed-end result can only be collapse, destruction and devastation for the Ponzis they really are. The thing is, these ends are quite predictable from the start.

Me too, 3D Student. I came to realize that gas is not a necessary part of digestion only recently. First it reduced a lot when I stop eating processed and other evil foods and just disappeared with the meat and fat diet. However, it comes back immediately with any slip in the diet.

On the other hand, I would like to report a downside I'm having with the meat and fat diet. Although my energy levels are better and more constant (no swings in energy during the day) and it does not give me gas, my stomach feels very heavy most of the time. Like there is a heavy ball in my belly. I haven't noticed any harm from this so far, but it does bother me. I bought digestive enzymes today to check if they help. If anyone has dealt with this or has other ideas, I would be glad to hear them.

Just curious, but do you drink any liquids before, during or after a meal? Because if you do, it does dilute digestive enzymes.
