`No matter how bad things may get, the music will still be wonderful.` Kurt Vonnegut
Oi Va Voi is a British band that takes its name from a Yiddish-derived exclamation popular in modern Hebrew meaning, approximately "Oh, dear!" It is an experimental band from London, England, which formed in the late 1990s. Their sound draws on Jewish music from both the Ashkenazic and Sephardic traditions, including both klezmer and Judaeo-Spanish music, as well as Eastern European, especially Hungarian folk music, as well as contemporary electronic music.
And a note: They are now working with a Turkish singer to record song in Turkish for their next album.

REFUGEE
You ask me
Why it is I come to you
When someone else is just as good
I asked them but they said the same
Didn't even ask my name
Explain to me
Just what it is you have to lose
Take a minute in my shoes
Don't you feel like you've paid your dues
Already
I'll show you
That all our fates are so entwined
Don't lose your faith in humankind
Just don't forget my state of mind
Is fragile
Together
We can enjoy the taste of dignity
As long as you believe in me
I'll show you my reality
I've seen a few
You ask me
Why it is I come to you
When someone else is just as good
I asked them but they said the same
Didn't even ask my name
There's another refugee
There's another refugee
Oh oh there's another refugee
Oh oh there's another refugee

TRAVELLING THE FACE OF THE GLOBE
You and I we share another language
Of Inca treasures and hidden pots of gold
We've seen wonders you can only dream of
In search of legends of old
Hitch hiking across the Atacama
A desert like the surface of the moon
Make a fire, eat cactus fruit and sleep beneath the stars
In the morning we'll leave for Peru
Looking high, searching low
We are travelling the face of the globe
Down the rivers and the open roads
Where adventure lies we will all go
We venture the heights of machu picchu
Ignoring the danger sign on the jungle trail
The serpent's bite it only serves to strengthen our resolve
‘Cause tonight is the night we set sail
Looking high, searching low
We are travelling the face of the globe
Down the rivers and the open roads
Where adventure lies we will all go
We're rafting down the rapids of the Urubamba
We sail there with our pockets full of hope
Surely distant shores can't hide forever
‘Cause where the river goes nobody knows
Looking high, searching low
We are travelling the face of the globe
Down the rivers and the open roads
Where adventure lies we will all go
LADINO SONG
Yo me enamoré de un aire
De un aire de una mujer
Una mujer muy hermosa
Linda de mi corazón
Yo me enamoré de un aire
Linda de mi corazón
Yo me enamoré de noche
En luna ella me engaño
Si esto era de día
Yo no daba amor
Yo me enamoré de noche
Yo no daba amor
If I fall in love
Sun above me love
It won't be by moonlight
Won't be by moonlight
Moonlight, moonlight
Si otra vez me enamoro
De un aire de una mujer
De una mujer muy hermosa
Linda de mi corazón
Si otra vez me enamoro
Sea de día con sol
If I fall in love
Sun above me love
It won't be by moonlight
Won't be by moonlight
Moonlight, moonlight
Oh If I get to you
All I'm wanted to
It won't be by moonlight
Won't be by moonlight
Moonlight, moonlight
Won't be by moonlight
Moonlight, moonlight
Won't be by moonlight
Moonlight, moonlight
I can say that there is something miraculous about music or I may go on elaborating on what I thought and felt listening to the ones I shared, but I don't think I will be able to, the music itself can do that better for anyone who can hear that.
