Crazy Storm Weather and Lightning - Global

Footage of thousands of vehicles, planes & houses swept away by floods in Beijing, China today

Here's some dramatic footage of flooding in Beijing, China, from Typhoon Doksuri. 7-31-23

Caution needed -the segment starting at seconds 6 to 14 is footage of the 2011 Japan tsunami, see this footage below at mark 24 where a red plane comes into view (in the first video the flow is in the opposite direction).

There's lot of old disaster footage added indiscriminately to more recent events on many videos out there, so I wonder is there more in that Beijing montage above? fwiw.

We've had some sunny days recently, and it gave me opportunity to tan. So, my skin turns red and I think I over done it, because I am sore - not so much my skin, but my bones. Places on my body that have little flesh, muscle, fat - like my sternum, brow are sore. Of course my skin is a little burned, but that is expected. It feels like the sun penetrated my body and now I'm recovering from it.

I didn't intentionally set out to tan and lie out in the sun, but I did some yard work for a brief time and not wear a hat.

Anyway, considering the weather... All the rains... It seems like - either the atmosphere isn't filtering out the harmful rays, or the sun is shining with more intensity, causing more rain. And so these heavy rains are an indicator of how dangerous the sun can be, and spending too much time in it not wise. This is common sense, but as we continue our lives as normal, we're slow to be wary of sunshine - as it is usually a positive thing - not cognizant of it's effect aside from a nice tan.

Here is a video of glacial melt causing flooding, washing away homes in Alaska.

These are 2 pictures a friend sent me today from Karnten, Austria. As you might have read on Sott in the southern parts of Austria there were really heavy rains and floods and landslides. Very sad for the people there! I dont think they will geht a lot of support - the politicians make big words but not many deeds will follow!

as regards the sun appearing more agressive, i recall the site of peter ward who suggests that the ozone layer is being depleted, which allows uv to penetrate more to the ground, thus making the sun rays more agressive.

Over what period of time? Just last week we got 2" of rain in 2 hours. Yes, clouds can hold so much water. Additionally, most of humanity lives in one watershed or another (the water table surrounding streams, lakes, and rivers) and if all of a storm dumps into a single watershed, it is much more devastating than if the same amount lands on the boundaries of multiple watersheds.

🇬🇹 #Guatemala Incredible lightning over the top of the volcano in Acatenango, Guatemala⚠️

Pretty and scary💁‍♂️
Video in TG👇

Good find! There seems to have been an increase in upward lightning in recent years.

Here's the same video on Twitter for those that do not have Telegram:

Here's another from Volcán de Agua, Guatemala [July, 10]

And another one in Oklahoma [August, 12]

I'm pretty sure this one is from a couple of months ago, can't find the date.

The Earth is charging up!
