Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): General information and discussion of Home Units

Thanks for the replies! It seems 1.3ata is fine as long as you double or triple the amount of sessions one normally needs. In fact doing it this way seems to me right now as the better option as doing sessions under high pressure has higher probability of causing undesirable side effects and possible oxygen overdose; but doing many more sessions than is normally prescribed under lower pressures seems like a more safer and balanced approach to the therapy.

I will contact macy pan about if they can ship their products to the usa. I might have one delivered to india but the power cuts here are very frequent which will definitely cause problems during sessions.

Ok, I was about to ask about the sessions you guys do. We all have different levels of health issues and the reason for using HBOT, but it seems like most people do 60 min session and 5 times a week, maybe some do 90 min sessions.

People who have done 20-30 or maybe 40 sessions do you feel this is a good schedule, do you feel the need to increase? Did you start right away with 60 min/5 days per week?

Some apply the hypoxic/hyperoxic paradox during the session, i e 20 min with oxygen mask, 5 off etc. Do you do that or do you just keep the mask on the whole session? (not quite sure if you also have to lower the pressure to achieve the paradox, but maybe you can do that in advanced chambers and if you do longer session, bit confused there)

Considering my situation I think I will need at leat 60, probably 100, or do it until the electricity runs out.

5 on two off is best. I've tried 6 on 1 off and also 2 sessions a day 5 or 6 days. It Was to much, for a serious health issues, slow is best. Lots of healing is taking place so its better not to do to much.

Yes I do this, take off the mask every 20 min for a couple of minutes. When the pressure is reached I put on the mask, then take off 3 times and also take it off at the end when releasing the pressure.

If your condition is serious, I'd say go slow and stick with 5 one hr sessions two days off.

Thank you brother.

As of today, I've done 52 sessions. I do them five days a week, one hour per session. I take my mask off for five minutes at the 30 minute mark usually. Sometimes I do it twice in a session at 20 and 40 minute mark. Depends on if I remember since I'm usually reading in the chamber. I'm still having sleepiness on session days, though now I also have some days when I feel very well and energetic.

You've got some good recommendations, with that in mind, I think that the bottom line is that you test your thresholds, probably you're gonna feel tired and it's good sign (repair). But if you're too tired you may want to reduce the number of weekly sessions and/or the duration of the sessions (it's advised not to go below 40 min per session).

About 7 months ago I was dying. Hemiplegia, loss of memory, loss of speech, sleeping 18 hours/day to name a few symptoms. The grade 4 brain tumors were inoperable and they were growing at an alarming rate causing bleeding and massive edema.

Then I started chemotherapy which shows only 15% success rate (stabilization) and did also SRT sessions. In my case the chemo and/or the SRT was successful and the tumors unexpectedly stopped growing.

The doctors stopped the chemo treatment in May after the 5th session because the side effects were too nasty esp. the destruction of nerves endings. around the same time we got the HBOT, which I coupled with ketogenic diet.

Yesterday, I got the interpretation of the latest MRI after 3 months free of chemo. Lo and behold, the images show a slight reduction or a stabilization (depending on the interpretation) of the tumors!

I've done about 50 HBOT sessions since May and I've been steadily gaining back motricity, speech, memory, cognitive function. I've even resumed writing my latest book!
Fantastic Pierre!!!!

Well, as they say, the proof is in the pudding, so what you wrote here shows you are on the right track. So glad to hear this news.

Pierre, I‘m so happy to read that! Take care of yourself and on and upwards!

I did the hard chamber (2.4 ATA) and nobody advised about the toxicity of oxygen intake, I mean you could just leave it on constantly. They only explain to you there is valve that opens or closes the flow of oxygen so you can do as you please.

And I did left it open the whole time (went only once so far), I don't know if this is correct. (Well after reading your replies it is probably not correct 😅) I did not feel anything weird after but I'll star to close the valve for some minutes

I was so happy to read this, I cried and gave you a big virtual hug. :hug2:

And today I got in touch with my bank because I remembered that years ago I used to have a line of credit I used when big bills arrived once or twice a year, so I thought why not.
I'm going in to my bank on Monday and hope that it will be approved. Macy-Pan got back to me that it would cost me $6450 to door delivery. I'm super(quietly) excited. I may end up being able to purchase one after all.
