Iodine and Potassium Iodide

Great news, LQB! That is certainly a large dose you've been taking. Glad all effects have been positive. You did say earlier in the thread that you supplemented with nascent iodine for quite awhile before? Can I ask what dose of nascent you used and for how long?

Yes - the nascent I was taking is Mike Adams' (NaturalNews) brand. On the bottle it says 2% (iodine) solution in ethyl alcohol with 500mcg per drop. I averaged about 4 drops per day in tea for many months (about 18 months) - only 2 mg. Apparently this was not enough to affect the cyst. The larger recent dose nuked the cyst as Brownstein seems to suggest.

The kids are now joking about how "Dad never gets sick!" and it has made me think of ways to add iodine to their diet, too. My wife, seeing how I've "escaped" two times, is also warming up to the idea of taking extra iodine during illness, but she's not yet convinced of the benefits of taking it as maintenance. I've read on the internet how some people sneak in drops of Lugol's in the food they prepare for their family, but this feels a bit like going behind their backs. On the other hand, knowing its benefits, I do add e.g. curcumin in almost every meal I prepare. So, would adding a drop of Lugol's in a stew be "cheating"?

You might consider something like adding 5 drops of 2% Lugol's (or 2 drops of 5%) into a tiny bit of orange juice and telling the kids that it's orange juice and vitamin. I would do that twice a day while they are sick, and once a day otherwise. The orange juice likely converts the elemental iodine into iodide, though I think it is better than no form of iodine at all. I do think it is better that the kids willingly take the iodine instead of you feeling like you have to sneak it in.

You might consider Iodoral 12.5 mg for your wife if you think she might not like the taste of Lugol's in water.

I do have a very sore right shoulder - but I think that has more to do with too much mouse/computer work. I've had this before.

fwiw a sore right shoulder can be an indication your liver is struggling - so perhaps try some milk thistle/NAC.

As for the good news, as some might know, I've been struggling with a viral infection (herpes zoster ophthalmicus/herpes simplex) in my right eye that would occasionally flare up. I've been dealing with it for about five to six years now with ups and downs. When I went to the eye doctor with Chu last week, we were surprised to learn that the eyedoctor said that he is seeing improvement in my eye; blood vessels have decreased, and there is a lot less inflammation. He was quite surprised and said it was a miracle! Before, he seemed hopeless, and mentioned surgery as a possibility when things get worse. I was really relieved when I heard that things are taking a turn for the better. I think that the low doxy protocol, the antibiotics protocol, and now the iodine protocol have all been contributing to this improvement. I think that in some cases (like mine) it can take a couple of years before there are some visible changes! But it is definitely worth it.

That is awesome news about your eye, Oxajil. I am happy to hear it! :D I hope it keeps getting better.

It came to mind today, how / if the continuous knowledge coming out would have any impact on actually removing STDs. Grabbing the list from _https://www.std-testing.com/#/tests , for example:

HIV Type 1
HIV Type 2
Herpes Genital
Herpes Oral
Chlamydia
Gonorrhea
Syphilis
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C
By standard healthcare some are curable / treatable, some not.

That is really some great news and a great testimonial!

It is unbelievable the damage that this virus can do and most people think it is hopeless.

Thank you for sharing :flowers:

My purpose (beyond general experimentation) has been to clear all glandulars for optimal operation and detox the interferences. But I was surprised to find that a marble-sized cyst in my testes has disappeared.

I had some small sebaceous cysts but I just looked and they're gone! Whoa! I didn't even notice.

I've been running the iodine protocol for 3 months. I started with Iodorol tablets @12.r mg for 2 weeks, then 25MG for 2 weeks, then 37.5 for two weeks then 50 mg for two weeks. along with all the associated co-factors mentioned in the thread. I have seen no reaction other than mild depression and quiet despair from time to time. I stopped for a week and then restarted at 12.5 mg based on some muscle testing and have been maintaining that level since. No upsurge of illness, no aches and pains, no flu like symptoms. Odd, I thought.

I have not managed to maintain a strict ketogenic diet as eating a lot of fat ends up giving me the runs, so it would be fair to say my diet is more paleo like than ketogenic.

Being of a curious disposition, I got to thinking about the fact that back in 2009, I had a cancer incident. After the operation, I was put on a periodic review where for the 1st 18 months I was CT scanned every 3 months, then it shifted to every 6 months for a couple of years then to yearly. The thing is whenever I had a CT scan, the operator injected iodine solution intravenously, as apparently this makes your organs show up much more clearly on the scan as the iodine is quite dense and does not let the xrays through as well as areas without the iodine contrast solution.

You immediately get a metallic taste in the mouth and you feel like you have wet your pants as well. (Not that flash actually). So, over the time from the discovery of the cancer to now, I must have have received intravenous iodine solution at least 15 times. I am not aware of the strength of the solution injected and extensive googling only revealed that around 150 cc of the solution is administered, without any details of the strength of the solution.

Could this have rectified any deficiency in me over time so that the protocol is having no visible effect?

There are also organic mixtures of salt and sea weed that one could use, but knowing the issue of toxicity (sea weed) and how little iodine you get from that, it doesn't feel like an option.

Hi Aragorn,

I don't know if it's an option for you in your country, but here I regularly order clean iodized drinking water for my family in large bottles. Large water companies usually offer a line of different waters for their customers: ordinary, mineralised, iodized, etc. I keep my bottles in a dark cool place, so that it remained iodized. It tastes a bit differently than ordinary clean water, but you quickly get used to this taste and stop noticing it. My family members like it. Hope this helps.

Trito! Great news!
In case you didn't know there is homeopathic nosode preparation of herpes virus, I have had some really good results with nosodes and I think you should explore this route. it wont cost much and it is totally safe.

Hi RedFox,

Can you give some references or links on that? Thanks.
