The Companions Devoted to Liberty

Monday, July 28, 2003:

There is a very great mystery in the city of Auch. It consists of two masterpieces of Renaissance art preserved in St. Mary’s Cathedral – a cathedral dedicated to “The Black Virgin.

As I intend to bring many of the fascinating details forward including photos and interviews with those who are reputed to “know” something about this great mystery as well as possibly a little video tour of the Cathedral pointing out some of the more intriguing elements. But before I do that, allow me to diverge for a moment to give you, the reader, some background.

As is our way, we believe in sharing our work freely with our readers here on the Website and that is most definitely what the current Control System of this planet does not wish to see happen. Remember what Eisenhower said in his farewell speech to the Nation:

We face a hostile ideology global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose, and insidious in method. […] Our Military establishment [and] a permanent arms industry. […] The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government.

…Followed by CIA insider Victor Marchetti’s remarks:

There exists in our world today a powerful and dangerous secret cult. […] This cult is patronized and protected by the highest level government officials in the world.

It’s membership is composed of those in the power centers of government, industry, commerce, finance, and labor.

It manipulates individuals in areas of important public influence – including the academic world and the mass media.

The Secret Cult is a global fraternity of a political aristocracy whose purpose is to further the political policies of persons or agencies unknown. It acts covertly and illegally.

And, as Richard Dolan has pointed out: those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo.

Maintaining the “status quo” in science and religion is achieved via “official culture,” and official culture – as we have discovered – is established and maintained by what can only be called COINTELPRO.

The most effective weapon of “official culture” from the COINTELPRO bag of tricks seems to be Ridicule and Debunking.

In 1996, NBC broadcast a special called The Mysterious Origins of Man, which featured material from Michael Cremo’s book, Forbidden Archeology, which is on our reading list and which many QFS members (and readers of the Website) have read. The earthquake within the scientific community went off the Richter scale.

NBC was deluged with letters from irate scientists who called the producer “a fraud” and the whole program “a hoax”. But the scientists went further than this – a lot further. In an extremely unconscionable sequence of bizarre moves, they tried to force NBC to NOT rebroadcast the popular program.

But that effort failed.

Then they took the most radical step of all: they presented their case to the federal government and requested the Federal Communications Commission to step in and bar NBC from airing the program again!

This was not only an apparent infringement of free speech and a blatant attempt to thwart commerce, it was an unprecedented effort to censor intellectual discourse.

If the public or any government agency made an attempt to blatantly handcuff the scientific establishment, the public would never hear the end of it. And yet, via official culture, that seems to be exactly what has happened.

The letter to the FCC written by Dr Allison Palmer, President of the Institute for Cambrian Studies, is revealing. He wrote:

At the very least, NBC should be required to make substantial prime-time apologies to their viewing audience for a sufficient period of time so that the audience clearly gets the message that they were duped. In addition, NBC should perhaps be fined sufficiently so that a major fund for public science education can be established.

“So the audience clearly gets the message that they were duped?!!”

Excuuuuse me?! Just who is duping whom?

Anyone with two neurons in contact with one another can review the Timeline we have assembled from FACTS of our reality, and come to the realization that there is a HUGE difference between “public science education” and the science education certain scientists must be getting who are the handmaidens of the Power Elite. Again, as Dolan has noted:

Anyone who has lived in a repressive society knows that official manipulation of the truth occurs daily. But societies have their many and their few. In all times and all places, it is the few who rule, and the few who exert dominant influence over what we may call official culture. – All elites take care to manipulate public information to maintain existing structures of power. It’s an old game. […] Its fundamental traits are secrecy, wealth, independence, power, and duplicity. […]

Nearly everything of significance undertaken by America’s military and intelligence community in the past half-century has occurred in secrecy. The undertaking to build an atomic weapon, better known as the Manhattan Project, remains the great model for all subsequent activities. For more than two years, not a single member of Congress even knew about it although its final cost exceeded two billion dollars. […]

During and after the Second World War, other important projects, such as the development of biological weapons, the importation of Nazi scientists, terminal mind-control experiments, nationwide interception of mail and cable transmissions of an unwitting populace, infiltration of the media and universities, secret coups, secret wars, and assassinations all took place far removed not only from the American public, but from most members of Congress and a few presidents. […]

Since the 1940s, the US Defense and Intelligence establishment has had more money at its disposal than most nations. […] Much of the original money to run the American intelligence community came from very wealthy and established American families, who have long maintained an interest in funding national security operations important to their interests. […]

Secrecy, wealth and independence add up to power. Through the years, the national security state has gained access to the world’s most sophisticated technology sealed off millions of acres of land from public access or scrutiny, acquired unlimited snooping ability within US borders and beyond, conducted overt or clandestine actions against other nations, and prosecuted wars without serious media scrutiny. Domestically, it maintains influence over elected officials and communities hoping for some of the billions of defense dollars. [Including scientists, universities, etc.] […]

Deception is the key element of warfare, and when winning is all that matters, the conventional morality held by ordinary people becomes an impediment. When taken together, the examples of official duplicity form a nearly single totality. […]

The secrecy stems from a pervasive and fundamental element of life in our world, that those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo. […]

This is a widespread phenomenon affecting many people, generating high levels of interest, taking place in near-complete secrecy, for purposes unknown, by agencies unknown, with access to incredible resources and technology. A sobering thought and cause for reflection. [Richard Dolan]

Now, think about the above reported contretemps between the scientific community and a TV program about the possible “true history” of mankind and ask yourself: what was so dangerous in that program that it became necessary to mobilize the scientific community to activate COINTELPRO and “official culture” to suppress it? After all, it was only a program about “theoretical history.” People ought to have options to discuss since the current “history” has so many discontinuities that are inexplicable. Perhaps some of the gifted amateurs of our day are filling in those holes with reasonable hypotheses?

Now, allow me to emphasize a key point: From a historical point of view, the ONLY reality is that of conspiracy. Secrecy, wealth and independence add up to power. …Deception is the key element of warfare, (the tool of power elites), and when winning is all that matters, the conventional morality held by ordinary people becomes an impediment. Secrecy stems from a pervasive and fundamental element of life in our world, that those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo.

And maintaining the “status quo” in science HAS to be one of the main objectives of the Power Elite. If any of the information in Michael Cremo’s book – which, by the way, is extensively researched and supported with data FROM “official science” – is validated in the minds of the public, it opens the door to the question: “Why didn’t I learn about this in school? What ELSE is being hidden from me?” and other very uncomfortable questions that might lead to the same conclusions we have reported on this Website and in my book Secret History.

At the present moment in time, Cassiopaea is a real problem for the Power Elite, we think, judging by the nature and level of attacks launched against us in recent years. In fact, it began when the Website was launched and has continued to this day. Any reader who wants to find out what we are and what we are about can read the intro to the site as well as the FAQ page.

A friend of mine once asked me what was the most important thing I had learned from the Cassiopaean Experiment. I realized in the instant of the question that the most important thing was that I didn’t need to ask the C’s about every issue that came down the pike. I realized that the WORK I had to do throughout the years of the channeling experiment was the most important part of it, and that this necessary “result of the work” was why, in fact, the C’s were singularly chary of just handing out information directly – giving away mind candy, as it were. I understood from the research itself that it was the EFFORT – the work – the constant struggle to learn and understand – that produces the alchemical changes in the body and being of the adept. (For details on this please read Shocks and the Work.)

I also realized that, since the C’s had said: we are you in the future, that as I did the work, as I moved toward the future, that I was BECOMING Cassiopaea! The extraordinary perspective of the C’s – the startling insights into the hidden reality – the compassionate willingness to allow each individual to BE as they are and to learn at their own pace – and the plain, realistic depiction of man’s estate in the mire of a metaphorical pig sty – was becoming so much a part of my own natural perspective and BEing that I began to understand myself in the future AS myself in the future/NOW!

What is more, from our many discussions in the QFS, we realized that the same was true for others who were colinear. It had been the work, the struggle, the effort to SEE, and then the supreme effort of acting on that SEEing that had produced the most dramatic changes in our lives. It was a consequence of that very process of working, seeing, and acting that a group of us were sitting together in the South of France, surrounded on all sides by clues and signs to follow in our research and Quest, and discussing how best to share this with other seekers.

Our discussions then led to the idea that perhaps, because of our own naiveté in the early days of the growth process, we had focused too heavily on areas that ought not to be focused on, and had neglected those things that were certainly – in hindsight – most beneficial to others.

We tried to look at the old Cassiopaea Website objectively. We reviewed all the experiences we had as a result of this Website. We reviewed all the correspondence we had received as a consequence of the material posted on the Website – its focus and appearance. In short, we looked at what we had been doing as ourselves in the past, from the perspective of ourselves in the future that had become the NOW. Just as the C’s had told us on so many occasions that this or that was trivial in light of the important issues of reality, we realized how true this had been and that what had seemed important then was no longer of any interest to us because we realized that, like many others, we had been vectored to focus on the WRONG things via Official Culture.

What was clear from this review was that we had not emphasized the WORK aspect as much as we might have – even as much as the C’s had gently prodded us to work, work, work, and “discover” and “find out” and “up to you.” At the very least, as a site that had published “channeled material” as a sort of “centerpiece” – we had limited ourselves as well as our potential readership. Most people who go looking for channeled material just want to find another “belief system” or guru to answer all their questions – to insure them against making mistakes in their choices – to depend on for guidance or make predictions about their future.

We are sorry, but that is not what we are about. We don’t do “guru-ship,” we don’t do “personal readings,” and we do NOT encourage any kind of dependence on channeled material for answers.

Unlike many of those in the “UFO/ET business,” as one such “guru” has called it, I have no intention of changing my name to become some sort of downloaded “Egyptian or alien goddess” or wearing purple robes or leading “meditation” or “healing” sessions, invoking spirits, “awakening the feminine”, or calling on the “aethyrs” or any of that nonsense.

It’s just plain silly.

What we have learned in objective reality is that the REAL work of the adept – which can be explained in scientific terms because it IS science – is, in essence, a solitary struggle that is the hardest WORK you will ever do. And that’s not a joke. As many great teachers have noted, not one person in ten thousand can even do it. So, of course, our readership is going to be smaller than that of sites that promote their wares of “ascension” and “cosmic consciousness” for 29.99 and a weekend workshop. But clearly, even the small number of readers we may have is unsettling to some… perhaps because a small amount of gold can counterweight thousands, even millions, of feathers…

As we like to say: playing with the C’s is less than 10 percent of what we do; HARD WORK is the rest of it. And not just hard work on hitting the books and digging for information to research one or another clue; but the struggle of the alchemist to align and fuse his magnetic center – to purify his essence and burn away his illusions.

Let me repeat that: the work of the adept is to BURN AWAY ILLUSION. And there are so many!

Human beings have illusions about religion, about other human beings, the reasons for existence, the hope of being “saved” by some messiah, the very nature of reality.

Based on our research into world political events we have come to understand that politics, like organised religion, simply serves to perpetuate illusions that must be burned away in order to SEE. Understanding the manipulations of the political, economic, and social structures of the world are crucial elements of the process of becoming free of illusion.

And so, we felt that it was only fair to the readership to begin to make this WORK clear to our readers so that those seeking a “guru” or “channeled answers to all life’s problems” would not waste their time or ours.

And so, the appearance and focus of the site was changed to reflect this “workmanlike” approach to the bridging of science and mysticism. Ark discussed the essential nature of this reorientation of our approach recently in an exchange with Robin Amis, the translator of Boris Mouravieff’s Gnosis:

Ark to Robin Amis:

You stated that:

1) Scientific method has its limitations.

2) Knowledge should be understood in broader terms so as to include, for instance “noetic knowledge”. In particular:

a) there is a true form of knowledge that is normally associated with religion

b) those with intellectual training tend to regard it as not being knowledge at all

3) That you – Praxis – teache this other form of knowledge, and the conditions under which it can be understood.

4) The reason that Praxis (and other religions) depends on a suspension of judgment is “that newcomers studying this material, despite quickly getting confirmation of its reality, will not understand it deeply enough.”

I will try to address and expand the above points and, perhaps, try to add some new ideas, if only for the future discussion.

Point 1) I agree. I agree completely. In fact it takes a scientist to truly know the limitation and the weaknesses of science, as many of the tricks and games and even lies are known only to the insiders – scientists.

Point 2) I agree that there is such a knowledge; I agree that is important and, in fact, is crucial. And it is because of this fact that we stress on our Website and in our publications the importance of “knowledge”, not just “science” or facts. It depends on whether you start with a fact and follow the clues to real knowledge, or whether you start with an assumption, and interpret all facts based on what may, at the very beginning, be a lie.

a) Whether this “true knowledge” is, was, or should be “associated with religion” is disputable.

The term “associated” is somewhat vague and can lead to misunderstandings. Science is also associated with religion. The Pope has scientific advisers; the Vatican supports scientific research.

On the other hand the greatest crimes of history have also been – and probably are still – associated with religion, one way or another.

Religion, if analyzed sincerely and critically, has many dark spots, and analyzing the reasons for this is not an easy task.

But I hope you will agree with me that one of the reasons why religions have these dark spots is that people were lulled into believing that they have (in opposition to others) the “true knowledge”.

So the very concept of “true knowledge” is risky. It is easy to imagine that two different people will have different, orthogonal truths. For one the truth may be that he needs to kill the other man, while for the other man the truth may involve avoiding being killed. Every noetic truth has down-to-earth implications. Or so I think.

b) Though I agree that what you wrote may describe a general tendency, yet there are exceptions. History knows scientists – great scientists – that were “mystics” at the same time. Pascal, Newton, Poincare – just few examples. So, indeed, the term “tend to regard” that you used seems to be appropriate. But for this present point, it is important to know whether there is a real contradiction between being a scientist and appreciating other forms of knowledge at the same time. It seems to me and, I believe, you will agree, that there is no intrinsic contradiction.

Point 3) Here of course you are assuming that Praxis is already in possession of such a knowledge. Perhaps this is the case or, perhaps, Praxis has only “fragments of unknown teachings”, and not the complete picture.

Being a scientist I am always careful and I would never state that I have the full and complete “knowledge” of something. I may know about tools, theories, formal structures, data etc. But one day, all my tools, data, theories and formal structures may prove to be wrong or useless with the uncovering of a single datum that shifts the entire structure. A true scientist MUST be open to this. What is important in science is being always open to surprises, to new paradigm shifts etc.

So, I think, you – Praxis – are teaching what you BELIEVE to be, at the present moment, “the true knowledge”, and you may have very good reasons for such a belief. You may have very important pieces of knowledge – as we think based on research – but, perhaps, you are still lacking some of other important pieces – which we also think, based on research.

How can we know in advance where the next unexpected discovery will lead us?

And here I would like to make some constructive – or so I think – comments.

Looking at the history of “our civilization”, religion seems to have been in existence much longer than “science.” And yet we see that religion has failed. In spite of its teachings people are still constantly at war with each other. Human beings have not become better, and they are often much worse than animals. Gurdjieff described seeing the truth of our condition – the condition of our reality in general – as the “terror of the situation.” It is terrible because, when you really SEE it, you realize how great a failure religion or the “powers” of the various versions of God really are.

Science, which came later and has exploded in the last millennium, has failed too. It has brought mankind to the edge of self-destruction. Advances in mathematical, physical and computer sciences have brought about “applied game theory”, where “wars” are called “games”, and to “win the game” is to kill as many people as possible with as little cost as possible.

Is there any hope at all? And if there is, then where?

Perhaps it is time to try something new? Perhaps a “marriage of science and mysticism” has a chance?

Why not take what is good from science and what is good from religion, and discard what is wrong?

What is the best thing about religion?

Religion teaches us to be open minded and accepting of possibilities which are far from being “rational”. Religions teaches us to pay attention to singular events, miracles, phenomena that are fragile and hardly repeatable. Finally religion teaches us to look inside as much as outside: know thyself.

The strengths of the approach of religion just happen to be the weak points in science.

Science is often narrow-minded and conservative restricting everything to what is material and rigidly repeatable. Science teaches us that what is “out there” is not connected to what is “in here,” that it must be captured, weighed, measured and manipulated. That is why new paradigms are so painful when they come – but they DO come in science, and they seldom come in religion which is “fixed” and dogmatic and not open to discussion.

What is the best thing about science?

Science is open to criticism and discussion. Even if many forces on the earth try to make a sort of religion of science, in general, scientific theories must be published and publicly discussed. We can find an error in Einstein’s papers because these, as well as other papers, are publicly available. Everyone can learn mathematics, as advanced as you wish, from reading monographs, articles, going to conferences, and discussing with other scientists.

The strength of science just happens to be the weakness of religion. Religions are always “secret” in one respect or another – even if that secrecy is only the declaration that no changes can be made, no questions asked, because the ultimate truth about God is a “mystery,” a “secret.” That is why the teachings of religion are so easily distorted and misunderstood. It is so easy for the central “authority” to achieve the “pinnacle” of the religion and declare to the followers the correct interpretation and that no other is permitted.

Point 4) What you say about students not being able to judge for a long time is certainly true. But whether discouraging them from such judgments is the only solution – I am not sure.

Certainly that was the way it was done in the past. Groups were usually small, whether exoteric or esoteric. Travel and communication possibilities were severely restricted. But today a qualitative change has occurred: we are now in the era of networking and instant communication on a planetary scale.

Therefore a different approach is possible: instead of having few students and “teach them even when they are not yet ready”, we can address ourselves to those who are ready.

This was not so easy to do in the past when teachers communicated, at best, to merely hundreds of potential students. But is is possible now, when we can communicate with millions.

Whoever is not yet ready for the next stage, let him stay where he is or go back where he was. Those who ARE ready, will find you – if you take care and NETWORK efficiently.

So, I would not discourage students from making early judgments and discussing subjects that they are not prepared for. If they come to the wrong conclusions and go away or attack you, that is their free will. Let them go where their minds and their hearts lead them.

That is, at least, our approach in QFS. Perhaps we are making a mistake here, but it is always good to try different methods – if available.

So it is, we seek to combine science and mysticism for the few who are colinear with this approach. And this was uppermost in our minds – to convey this effectively – when planning the look and emphases of the new and revised Cassiopaea Website. We understood clearly that there are many “seekers” in the “New Age” milieu who would be turned off to this approach. They are seeking a guru, to be underwritten in their choices, a messiah. As Ark has written: those who are not ready for this stage of Becoming Free, let them stay where they are or go back to where they were. And if readers form conclusions based on their illusions, that is their free will and we have no quarrel with that. Each individual should be where their minds and hearts lead them.

Now, how does all of this relate to the Mystery of Auch Cathedral?

Due to a number of extraordinary coincidences – off the scale of probability – we landed in Auch. When we arrived, I had NO idea that the cathedral here was going to give us so much information.

When we arrived, I did, of course, notice the Cathedral. But gee, I’d been to Notre Dame in Paris! What could a cathedral in Auch have to offer after Notre Dame?

As it turned out, in comparison, Notre Dame is a child’s primer of “esoteric information.” The work in Auch Cathedral is Graduate level!

During the early days after our arrival here, while we were still waiting for our household goods to arrive, we had to go to town to find out about obtaining a “temporary” computer that might enable us to have at least minimal contact with the rest of the world! The computer store was across the square from the Cathedral. Ark was talking “computerese” and I decided to just pop into the cathedral for a few moments. I walked in the door, saw that, yeah – it’s a cathedral – snapped a few photos from the end of the aisle, and thought I had done my duty. I promised myself to come back when I had more time, but it certainly was not a pressing issue.

A couple of weeks later (and we were still waiting for our shipping containers – which had all our beds – to arrive, so I was just a little cranky from lack of sleep) a visitor asked me about the “famous statues in Auch Cathedral.”

“What famous statues?” I asked. And of course, my interest was piqued.

We paid a more serious visit to the cathedral. I certainly didn’t see any statues of note upon entering though I did see some things that made my hair stand up. (More on that in a future article.)

In the center of the cathedral, there was a big wooden structure that looked as though it had been built around something to “hide” it. One of my companions on this visit even commented: “Wonder what they are hiding in there?”

After we walked along the side of the thing a bit more, we found out. There was an open door to what was called the Choir. It’s like a “holy of holies” where monks can sit and sing or chant or whatever, out of view of the congregation (if a congregation is present). We passed through the door and I nearly lost my breath in astonishment. Here is a composite image of the interior of the Choir.

Now, just so you will have a good idea of what all the carving of the above wooden panels and seats consists of, here is a detail of the thousands upon thousands of detailed carvings:

It was in the choir that, from a little booklet which described the cathedral and its treasures, I learned about the stained glass windows which I still had not seen. But what was even more fascinating is what one of the priests who served in Auch Cathedral most of his career had to say about about all of it after a lifetime of research. He wrote:

It is above all the windows of Arnaud de Moles that deserve our attention. Produced between 1507 and 1513, they are esteemed as the finest of the Renaissance. The famous art critic Emile Male wrote: “For the breadth of thought, no work of this period equals the windows of Auch.”

Detail of Moses with horns from one of the Windows of Arnaud de Moles’ in Auch Cathedral.

This extraordinary set includes a series of 18 windows. They are presented as a rich decoration, where a crowd of characters of every origin meet each other. Most come from the Bible, but some of them, like the Sibyls, come from pagan religions. The themes of these story windows have been chosen with the greatest care. To discover the themes, we need to find the golden thread creating an invisible link between heterogeneous characters, apparently strangers to each other.

The visit of these windows must be made from the left to the right, going from the transept, beginning with chapel 11…

An idea brings them together. What is it? The key to this mystery is in the hands of the Sibyl. The object she carries gives us the key to the enigma. This symbolic biblical object concerns each of the characters in a window in some way. It brings them together for a single idea. The artist provoked these encounters to clarify a theme, to illustrate a story…

These windows are not a gallery of merely famous characters. Among the most illustrious, some of them are not there, but some lesser known characters occupy a place of choice. What counts first of all is not the character itself, but the story it evokes, the destiny it attempts to direct. Like the sibyls, each is dedicated to serving a story. They find themselves at the heart, the very crucible…

They come from everywhere, they are from all classes, from every origin. They come willingly like celebrity artists, finding themselves in a gigantic gala, not for their own benefit, but for the benefit of a social and humanitarian task.

These celebrity characters of Arnaud de Moles’ windows contribute, in their own way, to the illustration of the greatest epic, the unfolding of a HISTORY.

Now, a question is asked: What was the real role of Arnaud de Moles, the master glazier, in the realisation of the opus that bears his signature?

Arnaud de Moles showed himself truly as a master for the realisation of the kind of screenplay entrusted to him. He was a clever workman formed at the school of the Compagnons – a school that was marked by the techniques of the Middle Ages and the Gothic period. His companions were like him, earnest, available, and applied to their task.

The 18 windows of Arnaud de Moles are therefore an exceptional piece of work. What is truly unique – in this ensemble as well as the choir stalls – is the message that is revealed. Arnaud de Moles was the artist, not the inspiration. The thought was given by unknown patrons…

We find the same ideas in the choir woodwork as on the windows of Arnaud de Moles. It is a question of HISTORY. This history is not simple. It is even very complex.

There are 113 stalls in the choir. They are made of heart of oak. This wood was soaked in the Gers river for a hundred years in order to prepare it to be worked very finely, nearly in lacework. [That suggests a very long planning stage of the individuals who had the imperative to record history in this way. And, as I read the above, I was reminded of the C’s comments:

08-15-98
Q: (L) The chief thing I noticed about this period of the Dark Ages is that from the time of the ‘birth of Christ,’ for about 1300 years, there is an incredible lack of documentation. Now, there were some manuscripts written by Monks, such as Gregory of Tours and so forth, but in general, the only things that have survived from this period are things put out by Monks under the control of the church. It is as though the whole world became illiterate. Is this, in fact, the case? Was it that nobody was writing anything down during this period?
A: Close.
Q: (L) Was any part of this because of the control of the Catholic Church over writing and education, and that they opposed everything that did not support their views?
A: Close.
Q: (L) So, what we have to work with is what we have to work with. And, I guess that’s as close as we can get. It isn’t a whole heck of a lot. How many people were in this Covenant?
A: Look for answers, trees will lead you to it.
Q: (L) What literary source could I go to to find the least distorted or corrupted information?
A: Trees.

The most puzzling thing about the above exchange was that the C’s answered my question about a literary source as “Trees.” And here, before my eyes, in Auch Cathedral, is a “literary source” composed of TREES; Oak trees soaked in the Gers river for a hundred years so that a HISTORY could be carved in them! Now, back to the commentary of the priest of Auch:]

What first strikes the attentive mind is the wealth and variety of details. The source of this inspiration draws not only on the Bible and the lives of the Saints, but on nature, mythology, pagan religions, the Holy Grail and chivalry.

We also notice the presence of a crowd of monsters based on both man and beast. It is, therefore, a perfect coexistence and happy harmony between two cultures, between two modes of thought, meeting each other: the mystical fervour of the Middle Ages and the humanism of the Renaissance: mysticism and science.

The artists of the Gothic Cathedrals would be none other than the Compagnons du devoir de liberté – The Companions Devoted to Liberty.

These companions have been able to give full initiative to their art, to the point of expressing in many places their initiations – of course, discreetly.

This remarkable set is not mere art! Like the windows, it contains thought, a message.

When we carefully observe the details, in the stalls, something immediately appears to our eyes: Demons and snakes, malevolent animals and monsters of all species swarm there. This invasion contributes to give to this whole a tragic aspect that also agrees very well with the profound movement of history that is narrated to us.

This tragic aspect is complementary and has to be put in relationship to the windows of Arnaud de Moles. The windows and stalls constitute a whole. The two masterpieces were designed at the same time. The same story is told. Its theme was proposed to the glaziers and the sculptors. This theme evokes the same reality: the reality of man in general.

One would almost think about Dante’s Inferno. But this obvious tragedy is not hell – it is the history of humanity on earth. Charity – empty handed – walks right before the monsters and demons, sustained by one same hope, going alone, but courageous, to face evil, the malevolent snake. At the end of the cycle, she becomes triumphant Strength. Her mission is accomplished because we see all malevolent snakes crushed under her feet or finally mastered in her hands.

Since this history is told and relived in retrospect, our artists knew in advance that this dramatic adventure had to bring us to Life.

What breadth! What perspective! that comes out of the thought of the woodwork of the choir of Auch. Some connoisseurs are not afraid to compare the extraordinary work of these stalls with the frescoes of Michelangelo. [Raymond Montané]

Now, let’s come back to the present: the world of Official Culture and a Hidden History of the human race that is so threatening to the Powers That Be, they feel they must suppress it with the ridicule and debunking of COINTELPRO.

Here in Auch Cathedral, there is a masterpiece of ART – a HISTORY – and 18 windows, masterpieces of Gothic Art – Art Gothique – Argot – Art Cot – the Art of Light! The TRUE history of the Human Race, including an INVASION of serpents and tragedy – the history of humanity!

I woke up this morning thinking about the state of the world we live in (which I have to admit could grip any thinking person with terror if they allowed it to), the games being played on the global stage – all of which suggest that there is something really BIG going on that they want to distract our attention from noticing (like the extraordinary increase in bizarre things in our skies, weather, and tectonic activity) – and the general hopelessness of humanity as evidenced by their paralysis. It is the history depicted in Auch Cathedral.

The thing that floated into my mind as I thought about it was the passage from Matthew 24:

13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

I was thinking: never before in recorded history have the above “conditions” been SO prevalent; so darned obvious to anyone with two neurons in contact. It’s like the whole planet is a powder keg with Bush and his global elite friends striking sparks with every interaction.

But it seems like the brainwashing programs – the “official culture” – has operated so effectively that Gurdjieff’s story of the Evil Magician is no longer just a metaphor. People really ARE just sitting around, sucking on their suds, watching “reality TV” and saying not a word about the taking of their flesh and skins.

Even if we were to completely discard any ideas or theories about hyperdimensional manipulation, to consider that all that happens on our planet is just a consequence of man’s inhumanity to man, or due to man’s “fallen state” or even just “mechanical forces of entropy,” anyone can see that we are truly on the edge of an abyss and multiplied millions – if not billions – of human beings may soon be gone from the planet – and I don’t mean they are going to “ascend” as many of them would like to think. And INVASION of serpents and the tragedy of humanity depicted in the choir of Auch Cathedral.

We discussed it a bit here recently, trying to figure out just what has awakened the beast of the masses in history. What will it take to wake people up? Generally, it is hunger. “Charity goes before the monsters empty handed…”

At the present moment, the global elite are facing a serious problem, and they know it. The weather issue is quite pressing. When the weather goes kaflooey, there is no harvest. And when there is no harvest, there is soon no food. Would anyone care to do some research on the world’s food reserves? There really aren’t any.

How many droughts or floods and bad harvests have we had in the past ten years? Each year that it happens means that there must be “borrowing against future harvests.” And when there is a series of bad harvests, there is soon nothing left in the “bank.”

In this case, the bank didn’t have a lot to lend in the first place and it is a fact that global starvation – a consequence of the manipulations of the “global elitists” is crouching at the door.

I think that the global elite KNOW this – they have learned their lessons from past revolutions – and that part of their agenda is to keep the masses under control by being able to give them bread and circuses. But, in order to do that, they must certainly eliminate a huge mass of consumers of the world’s resources.

Well, sure, we can all agree that this is a logical solution to the problem: after all, if there isn’t enough to eat, somebody has to go, right?

Question is: who makes those decisions? And if there is another year or two of bad harvests – based on the trend, it’s gonna happen – how much smaller will the circle get drawn – the circle that designates who gets resources and who doesn’t? And will YOU and your loved ones be outside the circle?

And that is just the “ordinary view,” the “logical assessment” of the situation. We don’t even have to think about a cosmic “feeding machine” with levels of reality and so on to see that we are in a big heap o’trouble.

What to do?

Frankly, based on all we have researched, observed, thought about, and so on, I do not think that there is any real basis to the ideas of “ascension” in terms of global consciousness. It is too clearly evident that the sheep have been hypnotized to give up their skins and flesh at the time the Evil Magician comes to collect. There is no savior. There are no friendly aliens who are going to beam anybody aboard.

In other words, it seems pretty clear that all such ideas have been part of the brainwashing program designed to put people to sleep and to make them complacent. Anyone who has ever observed a flock of sheep or a herd of cows being put on the truck to go to the slaughterhouse knows exactly what I mean. They just “go along with the crowd” and only once in awhile does some particularly “sensitive” one that may be able to pick up on a different reality kick and scream and butt his head against the fence and try to get away.

Pretty depressing, huh?

That’s what is. That is the End of Illusion.

And that realization has been driving me for a very long time to search and search for any single possibility that there MIGHT be another way. Notice the “might.” A possibility. A glimmer of hope that we are not all just “food for the moon” as Gurdjieff put it.

What possibilities have I found, if any?

We can observe that there certainly seems to be a reality that is “different” from our own and that beings of some very different sort occupy this reality that seems to be out of “firing range” of the things that ordinary humans suffer – plague, famine, wars, global cataclysm, and so on. We also notice that most of them seem to be chillingly present and implicated in such things throughout history. This seems to be indicated even in the choir stalls in Auch Cathedral. And we want to recall that these works were created by a group known as the “Companions Devoted to Liberty.” What an odd name to give a group of artists. And it seems, based on our current researches, that these Companions still exist… here in France.

The Companions Devoted to Liberty have left us a history in Auch Cathedral that seem to be beckoning to us by leaving something like a string of clues, the thread of Ariadne, to lead us out of the labyrinth. And the final clue of the history is that STRENGTH is triumphant!!!

From then on the feast can be organised since Life has just triumphed over Death. To signify the feast, the artists have represented joyful processions on the pedestal of this triumphal Strength, where riders and soldiers advance, carrying trophies, symbolising their victory. However, this feast is prepared, and it is even celebrated all along the cycle. Indeed, in spite of the malevolent snakes and dragons of all species, it is still the feast. [Raymond Montané]

Is this any more than a glimmer of hope? A remote possibility? Or is it just a false clue to give us hope when there is none? We don’t know. And we won’t know if we don’t follow the clues and discover. But from where I sit, it looks like the only chance we have. As Fulcanelli wrote:

[W]e learn that a country exists, where death cannot reach man at the terrible time of the double cataclysm. As for the geographical location of this promised land, from which the [spiritual] elite will take part in the return of the golden age, it is up to us to find it. For the elite, the children of Elias, will be saved according to the word of Scripture, because their profound faith, their untiring perseverance in effort, will have earned for them the right to be promoted to the rank of disciples of the Christ-Light. They will bear his sign and will receive from him the mission of renewing for regenerated humanity the chain of tradition of the humanity which has disappeared. […] For it is by fire and in fire that our hemisphere will soon be tried. […]

The age of iron has no other seal than that of Death. Its hieroglyph is the skeleton, bearing the attributes of Saturn: the empty hourglass, symbol of time run out, and the scythe, reproduced in the figure seven, which is the number of transformation, of destruction, of annihilation. The Gospel of this fatal age is the one written under the inspiration of St. Matthew. […]

Matthaeus […] means science. This word has given study, knowledge, to learn.

It is the Gospel according to Science, the last of all, but for us the first, because it teaches us that, save for a small number of the elite, we must all perish.

For this reason the angel was made the attribute of St. Matthew, because science, which alone is capable of penetrating the mystery of things, of beings and their destiny, can give man wings to raise him to knowledge of the highest truths and finally to God. [Fulcanelli, Dwellings of the Philosophers]

Let me repeat one of the startling remarks made above about the Art in Auch Cathedral, the HISTORY that has been preserved in the Choir and the windows of Arnaud de Moles:

Since this history is told and relived in retrospect, our artists knew in advance that this dramatic adventure had to bring us to Life.

In other words: We are You in the Future.

And so we count ourselves among The Companions Devoted to Liberty.
